Achilles. Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 Lorde, St Vincent, and Perfume Genius. An alternative trinity.
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 11, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 11, 2018 The OP I spot some cute songs, but I'm looking forward to your albums list

Blue Rose Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 Some honorable mentions in no order. I liked these albums but for one reason or another they didn’t make my top50 (didn’t get enough plays, too long, have some songs that dragged it down) Every album in my top50, I loved! 1. Isolation by Kali Uchis 2. I’m All Ears by Lets Eat Grandma 3. Thank You For Today by Death Cab For Cutie 4. Lamp Lit Prose by Dirty Projectors 5. Scorpion by Drake 6. Invasion Of Privacy by Cardi B 7. Electric Light by James Bay 8. The Kids Are Alright by Chloe x Halle 9. Here Comes The Runts by Awolnation 10. Qualm by Helena Hauff
potent Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Scorpion I like some singles from James Bay and DCFC this year but I didn't listen to their albums.
mokitsu Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 isolation and invasion not making it electric light was cute and the kids are alright deserves a hm

I also have albums that charted but missed my Top100 songs Edited December 11, 2018 by Superpower
Wicked Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Glad Cardi is only an HM, that album came and went.

It’s a good album with some great songs. Would’ve made my list if some of the songs weren’t too similar. Check it out.
Alldeezy Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 dunno any of those albums lol...so not sad they missed the chart ...cant wait to see the full list
Vilppu Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 kali and LEG really good didn't care as much for cardi as everyone else seemed to
Blue Rose Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 Nothing groundbreaking, just some fun and chill Pop songs. I never cared about his high profile relationships but this album is heartbreaking af and is his most cohesive in a long time. I love how the production is at times futurist (for R&B) while he still managed to recall his pre-pop superstardom days. If you know, you know!
prézli Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Electric Light was a huge disappointment for me (because Pink Lemonade was amazing). Phoenix is MEH. Better than ORA, but it's still not there.
Cloröx Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Daytona deserved higher imo My Dear Melancholy reminds me of his earliest work
Blue Rose Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 Nobody and A Horse Named Cold are my favorites. Nobody has a little French variety influence that makes it funky and marvelous. Pink In The Night reminds me of everything that I love about early 2010s Rock. Mitski is a wonderful songwriter and she shines the brightest with a minimalist production. This is such a mood. Hypnotic, ambient, and very synthy. Truly enjoyed it. I wasn’t excited about this comeback until I heard “Life On Earth” which is one of the best surprises of the year. The album ticks all the boxes for anyone who has ever enjoyed a Snow Patrol song or two. Never understood the hate surrounding this guy. He’s an amazing talent and with just one album under his belt, already has a plethora of irresistible Pop songs.
