That’s fitting because all these songs come from a different genre but all seem to cross over to Pop. Robyn, backed by an autotuned voice that repeats everything she says, begs for forgiveness over a heartbreaking electro beat and has a huge vocal moment during the bridge. Speaking of vocalists, R&B duo CxH finally enters my countdown with Warrior. At #89, we indeed have a David Guetta song (you didn’t misread that) and it’s great. I didn’t think that was possible in 2018 either but they delivered. It’s a fun House track. Hip Hop experimentalists Young Fathers’ Toy is probably the catchiest song here, which is surprising with Twenty One Pilots and Post Malone’s best choruses in the mix.
