And IYKYK is that one song you couldn’t stop playing. This Is America is the most dramatic song of the year. The intro is a fun singalong but 45 seconds in, all hell break loose. The samples, the layers, the lyrics, the transitions, everything just takes my breath away. And with visuals just as captivating, the complete package is just legendary. It’s just a coincidence that the songs with my 2 favorite videos of the year are ranked consecutively. Magenta Riddim was released before the lackluster Taki Taki and it’s Dj Snake at his peak. I was so sure this song was going to explode. It deserved. Opps is the crown jewel of the Black Panther OST. It incorporates West African drums with 808, a nod to Wakanda’s celebration of traditional African values while being the most advanced state in the MCU.
