Wow 100 albums ?

Denzel and Young Fathers are my favorites u've posted so far. I didn't even get around to new Anderson yet smh but you should absolutely listen to Malibu if u haven't. Seems like it's a bit more diverse than this new one is. Great album. Keep em coming tho ??

A gorgeous EP from some famous person's daughter. She has a beautiful voice and the EP is very immersive and unique. Found myself going back to it a lot. I really recommend the entire EP ff but I put the more instant tracks as serves.

Serves: Coolhand, Facepaint

Gay excellence again. King Princess made a splash with 1950 but release after release has constantly impressed me. Really excited for her career

Lovely summer EP with quirky lyrics and fun production. Some brilliant pop tracks on this.

Reminds me of Rhye's Woman in a way.... muted but still quite dramatic. Gorgeous production and vocals.  The title track is really the gem of the EP and I'm excited to see where she goes from here.

Serves: Stone Woman, Doubt

Good / cute albums here! Sway was cute but like left no lasting impression on me. She really thought she did something with that useless Liability cover.

:dies: I ended up liking her cover a bit but it's annoying she added that to the already short album

Let's Eat Grandma did that! Sadly I initially didn't like the 2nd half of the album because of the two long tracks. I finally revisited recently and of course I was wrong. The writing is brilliant and there are bops in this that feel so timeless (Falling into me whew). Hearing SOPHIE did some production made me check them out and I'm super glad I did

Serves: Falling Into Me, I Will Be Waiting, Hot Pink

A great pop album from Bea. There isn't a weak track on this though the subject matter is nothing new, I like the energy she puts into every track even the slow ones like I can't breathe. The emotions she sings about feel so real and relatable. I overplayed this when it came out and it still sounds so good to me. She did that

Serves: I can't breathe, Girlfriend, Warmer

One of my favorite album covers.. and Rico of course served quality as well.  Lyricism and Rico's delivery are pretty great. The songs slap so hard and Rico Nasty stands out so well on this. Just more and more reasons to stan. I can't decide which is my fave between Counting Up and Pressing Me whew.

Serves: Counting Up, Pressing Me, Trust Issues

I was initially a hater skldjasdkl but relistening to this has made Oil really grow on me. I still really hate pretending. I think it's a waste of a track but the rest of album whew so interesting. The hype and acclaim is truly deserved. A gorgeous coming out album that's experimental but still very accessible and easy to get into.

Serves: It's Okay To Cry , Faceshopping, Immaterial

Another grower for me. Initially found the album a bit dull but the themes Seinabo sings on are so gorgeous especially the tracks on her late father. The production and vocals are beautiful as well. "Breathe" is especially gorgeous. I believe she wrote it after visiting her home in Africa just feeling feeling so at home vs. where she lives in Europe.

Serves: Breathe , I Owe You Nothing, My Eye

And glad you got into C&C and Donnie Darko; they're like the best songs on the album. You made a point about Pretending though!

Seinabo Sey was also a nice lil surprise this year.

And the Amber Mark EP was sooooo good. I'm glad I finally got to listen to it recently.

I kinda hated the King Princess EP, which is shocking since I went into it fully expecting to love it based on what I had heard about it.

Such a lovely project Alina Baraz. The tracks flow so well together, the production is lovely and her vocals whew... so smooth. Only heard of Alina before on Urban Flora and while the more electronic elements are not as strong anymore, this is a great rnb project that really stood out for me this year. Electric particularly grew on me... even Khalid couldn't ruin it for me.

Probably one of the few that didn't care much for the initial singles from this. There were a bit random for me so I didn't know what to expect on Primal Heart. But of course this ended up being a great pop album. The production is so varied and interesting and that's a major highlight on this. The second half of the album is so much stronger for me. Past Love was such a highlight for me. Really gorgeous

I initially called this my favorite Lykke Li album  but Wounded Rhymes stays untouched. Something about the repetition, the trap production and the distorted vocals just work so well to me and give off this easy going heartbreak. I get why it would get lashed though since compared to her older stuff it's not as deep or raw. The album is also really cohesive and progresses nicely

Serves: sex money feelings die, two nights, hard rain

Initially didn't mind this much but her hooks are really tight and the songs on this really well thought out. I kept going back to this a lot for most of the year as well. Her production is pretty good as well on this. She continuously serves a good mix of bops (sexual and just more regular stuff too) and serious tracks.

:dies: my 2nd most played album of the year. Raunchy and unapologetic, City Girls creates the bibles for scamming men and putting them in their place. I found myself returning to this a lot.
