rosebud and short court are my favorites from the song batch but I also don't mind peggy, noname & kali.

Forgot about that gallant track. He's a little overdue for a sophomore album.

TV:

#10 - #6

(sorry didn't have to write much! I already raved abt these in the Fanatics thread)

10. The Deuce – HBO

The fact that This Is Us/Ozark were nominated for best ensemble at the SAG awards and not this I’m…

Anyway second season was perfect! It succeeded yet again at making its large cast stay connected yet still give each of them their time to shine. Larry Brown’s transformation from a regular pimp into a charismatic actor was riveting to watch, Darlene’s hustle was inspiring, the Martino twins were tolerable, Lori and C.C.’s complicated relationship and Candy’s journey through the making of her artsy fartsy p*rn film were the highlight of the season!

The only useless storyline was college-girl-turned-feminist-bartender’s random activism which at some point took a lot of space. Can we get Zoe Kazan back??

9. My Brilliant Friend – HBO

A beautiful, almost realistic story about friendship. From the performances to the cinematography, the strength of the characters. Loved it a lot!

Downloaded Ferrante’s Neapolitan novels and I’m ready to dig in!

8. Kidding – Showtime

Give Jim Carrey an emmy pls!!!

7. BoJack Horseman – Netflix

One of the rare shows that managed to brilliantly cover the #MeToo movement with such depth while also making a hilarious critique on the current state of TV. It didn’t spend time sympathizing with its protagonist’s despicable action yet still sent a strong message about owning up to one’s mistakes. I appreciate how the show is still going strong 5 seasons in! (Which is difficult to achieve, not everybody has that to their credit lol)

6. Atlanta – FX

I get wary sometimes when artists are being cocky about their work but in this case Glover absolutely earned it! Second season is indeed worth the acclaim. Watching this weekly has been a blessing since you don’t expect what type of story you’ll get. All of the characters are unique (Van was kind of wasted yet again but anyway). It’s funny, crazy, scary etc… all of that!

I’m supposed to rave about the Teddy Perkins episode which was great but I felt FUBU, North of the Border, and Barbershop were more memorable.

happy to see feel like a fool, it's definitely an isolation highlight but i don't think that many people realise this? rosebud and short court style are really good too and like u is one of the better lovelyz album tracks for sure

Tea! Also i kinda almost gave up on lovelyz since the last time they released anything decent was their christmas song last year.

Rosebud, Feel Like a Fool, Short Court Style :clap3:

Sharp Objects was fantastic, probably one of Amy's best performances of her career. It wasn't really anthing groundbreaking but it was constantly engaging and thrilling tbh.

Interesting to see Babylon Berlin here as a German. I heard raves about it and thats its one of the best series to ever come out of here, but the story and aesthetic doesn't really interest me to be honest.

Pose was amazing. Yes, it had some flaws, especially with acting, but it was so heartfelt and beautiful. It was constatnly feeling something while watching it. Ryan's best effort to date.

I haven't seen the new ACS, but I shall watch it soon. I liked the first season.

I read about Flowers before and actual legend Olivia is in it, but your description sold it to me. It looked too odd for me but knowing that it deals with mental illness too made me inch rested.

x

Germany came through with drama this year!! i understand ppl being reluctant to start Babylon Berlin since it's like 16 episodes but once you're in, you'll end up binging it quick.

You'll like Flowers. It's like 6 episodes a season, 30 mins each! Very easy to watch

I'm hyped for his next record :duca: All of his tracks this year were top notch (with Doesn't Matter being the weakest but still..)

Thanks! I still think Pose needs some more improvement to be top 10 worthy, nonetheless it's a great show!

The best part about ATL was Tracy cause I wanna $%^&. But yeah, this season >>>. North of the Border praise!! Teddy Perkins got stale and doesn't stick like grits the same way some other eps did.

But yes! All of these were awesome, sad I didn't finish MBF before starting my list but I'm halfway done with it now and it's consistently awesome. Kidding is Kidding, Jim deserves it all. The Deuce is apart of the David Simon collection so it will be snubbed continuously.... Even tho it deserves. I want to fight college girl.

Songs list is nice too. Venice Bitch was a surprise.

Young Fathers’ Toy :clap3:

I need to catch up on Bojack. I’ve only seen the first season which had some amazing scenes but also some boring parts.

yeah i get this. i think all their post destiny title tracks were worth listening to (except the tropical house summer bs wtf) but they're so much weaker than destiny and pre destiny songs ?

venice bitch, toy, black pearl and no angel are great. i don't care for one shot two shot, however, it's the kind of song i'd say you only listen to for the production because that is definitely great and clear here but then, nearly every kpop song is actually really well-produced and melodically it's not interesting imo

Charli, Saba, and Lana :clap3:

You're the first person I see put Saba on ANY list so sleigh ^.^

I NEED to get back into Atlanta. School just took all the motivation I had in keeping up with shows completely :jonny: I think I'll also take the time this break to get into Bojack Horseman

True!! On a second watch it didn't have the same effect compared to the other eps. Tracy was hilarious :ahh: At least he got some emotions out of Earn lol.

Every decision involving college girl seems so forced... realistically she would've ran out herself to her parents from the first season

First season is the weakest so far, once you start S2 wheww you're in for a hell of a ride!!

True!! i still have hope one day they'll serve something as good as Ah-Choo or Getaway :jonny:

As for OS/TS, at least it's the only worthwhile SM release this year. That has to count for something right?

I wish i could experience watching BoJack for the 1st time :jonny: Such a roller coaster of emotions. Atlanta S2 is waaaay superior, you're abt to feast!!

He and Smino both re: he lowkey made Chance useless didn't he lol

Chancellor can take his sabbatical for as long as he wants (especially if he's just gonna come back with more church raps :celestial5:)

Toy, Venice Bitch :clap3:

so... Kidding was good? I heard very mixed things about it and i can't stan Jim Carrey, but maybe I will give it a shot.

I had to stop BoJack Horseman because it got too much for me... maybe when I'm in a better place in my life but for now, it hits too hard. I can very much believe that it's still excellent though

Atlanta I'm weary about starting, but it's probably the next thing i'm gonna binge. I heard that it's pretty weird and off the walls, so im interested.
