Pink Matter Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Only know the Jorja album and I think your description is pretty spot on. For some reason I thought that NIN album was an EP since it only had 6 songs on it I had planned to listen to it before so maybe I'll use this opportunity to listen to it
Vxspertine Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 The Hop Along album was such a snooze Nine Inch Nails we stan a
Body Electrician Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Emma Ruth such an underrated queen I think I listened to that Hop Along album but I have no memory of it
Love Drought Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Jorja's album was underwhelming, but she gave us The One & Wandering Romance so I can't complain
Bubble Tea Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 I can't say I'm familiar with all this stuff..

theblackestday Posted December 17, 2018 Author Posted December 17, 2018 (edited) 45. Metric - Art of Doubt Indie Rock Quote Tons of excellent guitar work here which I wish I heard more often in albums and lots of infectious hooks and sharp melodies. There's many songs here which would stand strong by themselves aside from already working great in the album context. I do think the album is imperfect and unnecessarily long and could've cut out a few tracks in order to fulfill its potential. Tops: Dark Saturday, Love You Back, Underline the Black, Seven Rules Bottoms: Now or Never Now, Dressed to Suppress, Risk 44. Tropical F*ck Storm - A Laughing Death in Meatspace Art Punk, Punk Blues, Noise Rock Quote One of the most insane and ambitious rock albums I've heard this year. so the band name, album title and cover art all fit it well. It's not an easy record to process, but listening to it kinda leaves me in awe. Love how noisy the guitar, bass and synths get and how nicely they compliment each other, all accompanied by the political commentaries which admittedly I did not read much into but still appreciate. Tops: Chameleon Paint, Soft Power, Antimatter Animals Bottoms: title track 43. Mariah Carey - Caution Contemporary R&B Quote Miss Carey came through with a cohesive, concise and consistent album which features her classic, signature R&B sound mixed with modern production. The result is surprisingly good. This won't garner hits nor attention from the general public but I'm sure she knew that. Tops: A No No, Giving Me Life, One Mo Gen, 8th Grade, Stay Long Love You Bottoms: With You 42. Shopping - The Official Body Post-Punk, Dance-Punk Quote One of the first releases of the year, The Official Body had a spot in my top 10 for the majority of the year's first half. An album full of super slick and groovy punk songs featuring some awesome rhythmic guitar work, bass lines and percussion. It's just a really amazing and fun record that is super easy to dance to. Tops: Asking for a Friend, Discover, Shave Your Head, Suddenly Gone, Control Yourself Bottoms: New Values 41. George Clanton - Slide Synthpop, Hypnagogic Pop, Chillwave Quote Got into this hoe less than two weeks ago and I instantly knew I had to make room for him on my list. This album combines many different sounds and genres from different eras in a pop context and the result is near perfect. Tops: Slide, Dumb, Make It Forever, Tie Me Down, You Lost Me There Bottoms: Encore Edited December 18, 2018 by theblackestday
Wicked Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Slide & Meatspace are on my wishlist. Nice to see Mimi here, but GTFO needs to be included in that bottom....
Sbbmsve Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Slide bitch SLIDE, I can’t get that puta out of my head. Make It Forever is an instant synthpunk classic Mariah made many points with Caution. It is like her most low-key album, GTFO is a jam.
Scandalous Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Tierra Whack is a genius, the accompanying film is incredible not familiar with any of the top 50 so far except Jorja's which has the masterpiece Teenage Fantasy
ATRL Moderator Unoriginal Posted December 17, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 17, 2018 Caution is the only one of these I've heard :miley: it's cute
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 17, 2018 ATRL Moderator Posted December 17, 2018 ? wow caution is a slay
