FM! was cute for two spins. Some good background music. MDM was solid too!

Perched for the top 5.

Yuno, Moses & Abel :clap3:

You're right, FM! does feel more like an EP

I only liked Spells from the Jenny EP but it's A VERY VERY GOOD SONG

WaIIT, FM is an EP? :deadbanana4:

MDM appearing :clap3: it's nice, but ages badly for me tbh

Posted

Yeah I view FM! as an EP too, it's an easy listen but I liked Prima Donna better.

Moses slaying everybody :clap3: Moodie is the only one I haven't heard so I'll check that out. Nice set.

FM! is a good EP but a less than stellar album, especially coming after BFT

Ahh yes Abel :flame: you better praise Try Me which is a masterpiece

And to be fair, I don't consider FM! an album either, rather a mixtape, if anything.

My Dear Melancholy, is fine but I didn't love it. Whoops, Try Me is actually my least favorite :keir:

I haven’t listened to Yuno but those genres look very interesting and cool, let me listen.

You know, you walk out the door. You see someone that you know, and they ask you how you are, and you just have to say that you're fine, when you're not really fine, but you just can't get into it because they would never understand.

when Neo Wax Bloom came out last  year, I expressed how I think EPs work better for his music, and this proved me right; I'd argue that Clear Tamei is his best work so far. I was afraid he would end up being a one trick pony, and even if he doesn't reinvent his sound with this EP, he does add new things and never makes you feel as it's "been done before". also this gif pretty much sums up both EPs so...

01. Hatchie - Sugar & Spice

Dream Pop

new main dream pop girl arrived. I've stanned this lady the moment her singles dropped and she's going to be the iT girl of 2019/2020, I've planted the seed and I will see the harvest. as others have said, she combines the shoegazy and dreamy production of bands like slowdive, mbv and cocteau twins with melodies one might find on carly rae jepsen's or kylie minogue's best material, and it's no coincidence she cites all five as influences. hatchie has an ear for fantastic pop hooks and accompanies them with gorgeous jangly guitars, lush synths and just the right amount of layering and reverb. she doesn't try to necessarily bring anything new to the table, she just makes the music she wants to make and she does it perfectly.
