FanOfPop Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 So far: - albums with 1 000 000 copies: 0 - albums with 500 000 copies: 2 - albums with 250 000 copies: 12 - albums with 100 000 copies: 48 Notable information: - "Witness" debuts at #31 - "24K Magic" is now ahead of "Moana" again and with "Versace On The Floor" being a single I doubt that soundtrack could get ahead of Bruno. But among soundtracks this is still best selling one followed by "Trolls". - Keith Urban's "Ripcord" reached 600k pure sales - "Welcome Home" by Zac Brown Band surpasses 200k pure sales

The other girls are just below her or did not make it to Top 100 yet.
Green Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Next week Katy will have the best selling female album of the year 24. Beyoncé – Lemonade: 182 217 sales ( = ) 25. Gorillaz – Humanz: 180 989 sales ( + 1) 26. Katy Perry – Witness: 180 216 sales ( + 5)
Quiqui4eva Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 LEMONADE being the best selling female seller currently I bet it'll pass Witness in the near future too
FanOfPop Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 "Witness" might be the best selling female album next week. But for how long. Beyoncé will surpass her I think.

RockStarShit101 Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 It's either one of those two things. Changing the platinum certification from 1m to 500k or just lower the prices. You don't expect people buying albums when they can get them for free on streaming services. In my own way of helping the industry and supporting musicians, I buy one new released album every month on iTunes. I don't know if I'm helping, but I feel great after doing so.

I think the RIAA should create a Silver award for 250k album consumption units, and an Emerald/Ruby/Sapphire award for 5 M consumption units. Given the nosedive in actual sales, I would not be surprised if the RIAA switches back to 1k streams = 1 sale. However, I have concerns about lowering Platinum to less than 1 M. I would not be surprised if they did lower Platinum though.

Germany did it before and nothing bad happened.
