OP updated.

"La La Land" dethrones "Moana" and becomes best selling album right now. Bruno has still best selling non-compilation album.

Next week, "Joanne" will be Top 10 for sure, maybe even Top 5 depending on how much it'll sell.

OP updated.

As expected, "Joanne" experienced big boost after the SuperBowl right to the Top 10 along with "The Fame". (I have "Born This Way" at #110 bubbling under).

Also notable:

- Brantley holding stable in Top 5.

- "Trolls" probably won't die anytime soon.

- If "Immortalized" will continue to sell at least like the previous weeks, it'll enter Top 100 soon.

+ This is the second best selling week for albums this year (after the 1st one right after the NYE).

I'm dead at the possibility of no-1M selling album this year. Even 500k is rare :rip:

Even the SPS is weak. I mean it

I don't think SPS is weak. We'll definitively see 15~ 1M+ SPS albums. It's just pure sales are declining quickly, which is also affecting SPS.

no matter what 2017 is a better year than 2014. Then, nobody knew what would happen. The sales were also the pits. Now, we're going into a certain direction.

With the direction it's going in streams will become the main factor.

I disagree with weighing streams higher than pure sales because when it comes to streaming vs pure sales, streaming obviously garners a different audience than people who contribute to the digital sales market.

I also disagree with it b/c streaming websites seem to have a low userbase per country (its like what 1/300 of Americans use services like Spotify? Correct me if im wrong) so it can skew the perception of what the average consumer's preferences are if such a low userbase is making songs go to top 10 easier if most Americans are not actively listening to it.

However sales are quite bad in this country enough to severely affect the influence of songs going in the top 5 even when its SPS. That's why a lot of songs feel like non-events these days tbh. I'm conflicted.
