For both artists, this track also doubles as their second chart topper this year. For Cardi B, it was "South of the Border (with Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello" for two weeks in January, and for Megan, it was "Savage" for three weeks in May. Jessie Ware earns her second top ten, with "Save A Kiss" rising 12-10. Her previous top ten was "Wildest Moments" (#7, 2012). On Deck (To Debut): Franchise - Travis Scott featuring Young Thug and M.I.A. 7 Summers - Morgan Wallen Sorry - beabadoobee She Couldn't - Linkin Park Fade Away - Hannah Diamond Gaslighter - The Chicks Laugh Now, Cry Later - Drake feat. Lil Durk Over Now - Calvin Harris and The Weeknd The Light (Remix) - Metronomy and Kero Kero Bonito All Within My Hands (Live) - Metallica and San Francisco Symphony Be Like That - Kane Brown, Swae Lee, and Khalid Retrospective Song: "I Choose You" Artist: Sara Bareilles Peak: #3, 2014 Blurb: The follow-up to 2013's "Brave," one of the biggest hits on my personal chart for that year logging 3 weeks at #1, was almost certain to do well, and "I Choose You" was certainly not a disappointment. Since then, however, Bareilles hasn't had any notable showings on the chart, but she has a decently strong history dating back to 2008's chart-topping "Love Song," and chugging forward with 2010's "King of Anything" and 2011's "Uncharted" peaking at #1 and #8 respectively. "I Choose You" peaked at #3 in July of 2014 behind two chart-topping songs: "Play It Again" by Luke Bryan and "Chandelier" by Sia. Since "I Choose You," the Bareilles song that receives the most play by me has been "She Used To Be Mine" from her musical, Waitress. The song never charted, however, but it still has a slight cultural permeation due in part to its use in an SNL skit almost 4 years after its release. Edited October 2, 2020 by ClashAndBurn
Remmy Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 I Choose You A very sweet song from her best album. Although sometimes I mix it up with 1000 Times (which I prefer by a little bit.) No thoughts head empty @ the #1 Killers almost there ahh Taylor debuting + Foster, Nightly, Miley, Ellie, Taylor/Bon all rising Save a Kiss finally hitting the top 10 while WYP? got a nice boost Gaga +17 oh absolutely!

This week, "hand crushed by a mallet (Remix)" resurges back into #1 for a third non-consecutive week, making it the first song to do so since "Something Like This" by The Chainsmokers and Coldplay had their run interrupted for one week by "Symphony" by Clean Bandit featuring Zara Larsson in April 2017. To clearly indicate how rare of an occurrence this is on this chart, this is only the second time according to current records (older records predating 2015 have to rely on my vague recollections for now due to losing access to the Excel spreadsheet files and no longer having access to old ATRL and as a result could be flawed in terms of exact timings and chart histories). Lady Gaga earns her 18th top ten this week as "911" surges 5 spaces from 13-8. Her top ten history is as follows: Spoiler Just Dance (feat. Colby O'Donis) (2008, #1) Poker Face (2009, #1) Paparazzi (2009, #1) Bad Romance (2009, #1) Telephone (2010, #1) Born This Way (2011, #1) The Edge Of Glory (2011, #1) Rain On Me (2020, #1) LoveGame (2009, #2) Shallow (with Bradley Cooper) (2019, #3) Alejandro (2010, #4) Judas (2011, #6) Yoü and I (2011, #7) Million Reasons (2017, #7) Always Remember Us This Way (2019, #8) 911 (2020, #8 so far) Video Phone (2009, #10) Stupid Love (2020, #10) Taylor Swift earns her 25th top ten this week and Bon Iver earns his fifth, as folklore-favorite "exile" continues its slow and steady climb from 11-9 following the meteoric rise and plummet of its chart-topping sister track, "cardigan." Swift's top ten history is immense, spanning almost 13 years, so I'll go back and re-enter this in due time Bon Iver's history is as such: Spoiler Monster (with Kanye West, Rick Ross, Jay-Z, and Nicki Minaj) (2010, #1) Holocene (2011, #2) Lost In The World (with Kanye West (2011, #3) Woods (2010, #5) exile ( 2020, #9 so far) On Deck (To Debut): Be Like That - Kane Brown, Swae Lee, and Khalid Fade Away - Hannah Diamond Laugh Now, Cry Later - Drake feat. Lil Durk Gaslighter - The Chicks Sorry - beabadoobee Head & Heart - Joel Corry featuring MNEK All Within My Hands (Live) - Metallica and San Francisco Symphony money machine - 100 gecs Let's Love - David Guetta and Sia The Light (Remix) - Metronomy and Kero Kero Bonito Lovesick Girls - BLACKPINK bloody valentine - Machine Gun Kelly Retrospective Song: "Rose-Colored Boy" Artist: Paramore Peak: #3, 2018 Blurb: The final single from Paramore's most recent album, After Laughter, "Rose-Colored Boy" serves an exuberant affirmation of not putting up a fake persona to please everyone else around you, and it soared to the upper regions of my personal chart in early summer 2018. It was held from the top position by two chart-toppers, "I Like It (featuring J Balvin and Bad Bunny)" by Cardi B and "Lucid Dreams" by the now-late Juice WRLD. Since then, Paramore haven't charted as a group due to not releasing anything else, but the frontwoman, Hayley Williams, has reached #1 just months ago with "Dead Horse" from her solo debut, Petals for Armor. Beyond charting, though, their entire discography receives regular recurrent play, especially selected tracks from their 2013 self-titled album such as "Still Into You," "Daydreaming," and "Ain't It Fun."

This officially means they have the largest gap between their first charting entry ("When You Were Young" January 2007) and their first number one (October 2020) of any artist, with a gap of 13 years and 9 months. Ellie Goulding's "Power" becomes her tenth top ten as it bounds 6 positions from 15-9. Her top ten history is as follows: Spoiler Lights (#1, 2012) Burn (#1, 2013) Love Me Like You Do (#1, 2015) Close To Me (#1, 2019) Something In The Way You Move (#2, 2016) Anything Could Happen (#3, 2012) Hate Me (with Juice WRLD) (#6, 2019) On My Mind (#7, 2015) How Long Will I Love You (#8, 2013) Power (#9, 2020) "Are You Bored Yet?" is the first top ten for both Wallows and Clairo, and is the first charting entry for both acts. They had several top tens between them, including "Helena Beat," "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)," and "Best Friend," however. Since this song hit number one, Foster The People have continued to have modest success on the chart, including the currently-charting "The Things We Do."
