ceremonials Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Oop I didn't have time, but ill do then Friday night!
Mr. Weatherwox Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I was going to post a more emotional perfomance at first but the theme for a week was to showcase pipes so I chose this one instead cause it's very belty and showcases projection and her head voice and a bit of growling effect and so on. 16 hours ago, pop!corn said: Barbra Streisand - When The Sun Comes Out I believe Barbra is the best singer of the competition. You have done a great job at showcasing her singing abilities so far and now I wanna see more! I want performances that make me feel something. This was nice but I wasn’t crazy about it.
pop!corn Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) Here are @ceremonials s grades Lea Michele - Love is Alive 7/10 this was pretty good, nothing ground breaking. I was never blown back, but lea's voice is pretty inoffensive. There's just not much to say about it, at least with this performance! Lady Gaga - Do What U Want 10/10 talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, **** on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it... that performance is qll of these things. Demi Lovato - Stone Cold 10/10 OMG mom. I don't get why pal hate this song, it's low key great. The bridge >>>> sometimes Demi is an xtina tea when she's performing this, but not here. Showing these Disney girls how its done once again Barbra Streisand - When The Sun Comes Out 7/10 Barb is probably the most proficient singer in the competition. But this was slightly bland for me. It's the definition of technically proficient. I can't poke any holes in it, but my wig is also firmly secured. Beyoncé - Ave Maria 10/10 simply amazing. And pop say bey just flips her hair and shakes her and on stage she's capable of so much more than that. Murder me, queen. Christina Aguilera - You Lost Me 8/10 Wow, she didn't overdo it. Pretendstobeshocked.gif No, but this was pretty great cribs has always had the voice but her technique for the most part is garbage. But this was pretty solid, very emotive and sentimental. Go tina Rihanna - California King Bed 9/10 rih is better than pal give her credit for, and this is proof of that. Serve intonation. Ugh why is CKB such a hymn? My soul feels purified Edited April 16, 2017 by pop!corn
Noah Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) @pop!corn It would probably be a good idea to give the judges a deadline so that way we don't have to wait like 2 weeks for them to send in their critiques (or not send them) again. Edited April 16, 2017 by Noah
Pol McCutie Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 1. Lea Michele - Love is Alive - technique 8/10, artistry 2/10, engagement with audience 5/10, overall 5/10 2. ATRL Moderator Oxygen Posted April 17, 2017 ATRL Moderator Posted April 17, 2017 Lea Michele: I think this met the criteria for this round pretty well. I've seen her do better on Glee though, so I was a bit underwhelmed. 6/10 Lady Gaga: Wow, I think this perfectly highlighted the different ways Gaga can use her voice, from her high belts to the soft soothing vocals she has. Perfect choice. 10/10 Demi Lovato: It was okay I guess, it had potential but her voice became grating a lot of the time, especially the bridge and the final chorus. It honestly wasn't pleasant. It was a lot better when she brought her vocals back under control. 4/10 Barbra Streisand: Barbra easily has one of the best voices in the competition but this didn't wow me whatsoever. This was in the middle of the pack for me today. 7/10 Beyonce: I enjoyed this, captivated my attention the entire time and she looked flawless. Great work. 8/10 Christina: I'm really impressed with her control in this song, she managed to showcase her vocals with out overdoing it. Nice. 9/10 Rihanna: For a singer who isn't known for her vocal prowess, she did really well here. And great choice of song. 9/10
