They don't. His albums and songs bombed before his death worldwide, people are just discovering about him now. His death is obviously giving him a push like :skull: Same thing happens when any artist dies.

Girl, I know he had fans in the US hence why I said worldwide. Just check his status outside there, no one cared before all of this happened. And obviously is giving a huge boost stateside as well.

Hmmm...what other artist was taking over iTunes and Spotify like this. We usually see this with legends (like Prince, MJ, and Bowie)

 

Dude has only been out for 3 years and has 2 albums. These numbers are surprising no matter how you try to spin in.

This happened when Jeff Buckley, Aaliyah (although she already had one global hit before her death but still) and many other artist that died in a young age. 

 

Is not that difficult to understand.
