Rentboy Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 i didnt know anybody cared about these brothers that much were they ever this popular back in the day? I dont know any of their songs. I have a theory that new music today is so sh::t that people are turning to older acts from the past for some comfort. Including Gaga. Lot of old acts in the charts right now.

Lot of old acts in the charts right now. The Jonas Brothers were very big especially from 2007 to 2009. I remember every single girl in my school was a fan of theirs and especially during 2008 you couldn't go anywhere without hearing Burnin' Up being played on the radio at least once. You have to remember back then they were really only popular with very young kids we're talking 8 to 13 years olds and that was the age before social media so no one outside of that demographic would realize how ubiquitous they were. They sold over 17 million albums, they had a top five hit with Burnin' Up, they had a huge 3D concert film when those were still a thing. They were in one of the biggest DCOM franchises of all time. During their world tour they even enticed a riot and the police had to get involved it was that bad. Honestly I'm not surprised by the reaction this song is getting. It's a catchy pop tune in a time where that is relatively scare made by a band that incites a lot of nostalgia for a lot of people.

It is because it was performed on American Idol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwnCSNhf8A4 Other older songs re-entered too like Sober by Demi Lovato.

Cz! Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I just realized that the video version of "a lot" is different to the one I've been listening to on Spotify, which lacks a verse. Is it available anywhere other than Youtube?

The US streaming audience is more into moody type songs or hip hop, so I get why it's not doing as well on streaming, but at least it has strong sales and radio airplay! -- On another note, the Live iTunes US Popularity Bars haven't been updated for 7 hours now, how annoying. I just wanna see how close SBP is to going #3
