That'll be a challenge. They need nearly five more months in the Top Ten to reach Perry's streak. I could see 55-60 weeks, but not 70. Then again, Closer has hung around longer than I expected, so I've been wrong before about the Chainsmokers longevity.

How many weeks they have been staying in the Top 10 now?

I think they're up to 48 or 49 consecutive weeks.

I'm not sure if the Coldplay collaboration is an actual single or just another promo song like All We Know. Also working against them is the Chainsmokers poor album sales even when taking the declining market into consideration. Teenage Dream sold over 3 M copies over an extended period of time, as Perry's release was full of singles. The Chainsmokers EP isn't doing that great despite the strength of several massive hits. I think Perry is safe.

I think so too we have alot of time to panic once closer drops out they lose their safety net

Well they haven't released an album yet. I don't count EPs.

But also if anything selling few albums should help with Hot 100 success. I absolutely think they have a legit shot at the record. Whether or not they make the Coldplay feature a single. If they don't Paris should stay top 10 for a while, if they do Paris will be cut short, but Something Just Like This will be there.

I think Closer can get three more weeks, which should get them up to a year.

It sold 8k more and the sales climate only got worse from last year. So Katy won :celestial4:

Katy Perry sold 8k more with her lead single. She's such a fighter.

Did she sell more than her non-opening-promo-only-single from last year?

I think, that "Swang" and "Tunnel Vision" could go to the TOP 10. "TV" could be a Lil' Metro's second TOP 10 hit... I'm so excited, though! :duca:

It would be his third after B&B and Bounce Back

You are really invested in her stats, so you should already know that.

Coldplay/Chainsmokers is already no 50 on pop radio with half a day of airplay. I know its being sent to pop. Idk about rhythmic/HAC

Yeah. That's seems rather subjective and inconsistent at times. Lorde's Royals clearly had massive support on Urban and Rhythmic stations (and even reached the Urban AC top 30), but BB refused to let it chart on the main R&B/Hip-Hop Genre list. Since BB has put other songs on more than one format chart, Royals definitely deserved to rank on both the Rock songs and R&B/Hip-Hop hybrid charts, as Prince did last year after his passing.

Sometimes they seem to be quite racist. Royals didn't enter the R&B/Hip-Hop chart but Diamonds was #1 for 15 weeks ?

Coldplay are essentially an HAC act now, so it should do at least as well there as it does on pop, regardless of whether it's sent (which they probably don't need or want to send it).

So far, I've seen CTTR 2nd week predictions about it falling @ #6, #8, #14...

Not sure where the #8 is coming from.

#14 was from me before I knew there was a video coming, #6 was from me after I knew there was a video coming.

How did Royals manage to do so well at Urban? Would it be able to have the same success there now as it did back then?

I think the question is: would Diamonds even enter the R&B/Hip-Hop chart if it was released by Sia?

The question is whether Coldplay + Chainsmokers has reached the limit of mass market commercialisation of an electronic music sound? After that, everything collapses.
