The lyrics are simple but clever, nothing pretentious or try hard. The feature fits the song despite many people not finding it necessary, I really like it. Katy surprising us once again giving us a colorful music video for a dark themed song, looking back at it, it's an iconic masterpiece. Dark Horse is a once in a decade phenomenon. I agree with the production. But girl, the lyrics? Really? The dark horse simile makes no sense in the song. I don’t think Katy even knows what it means to be a dark horse.
