2013 vs 2016. Either way we'll see next week :foxaylove2:

400k-450k, maybe higher depending on the boost.

Anything below 1M would be a disappointment. I’m sure he’ll reach it with the SB and all! :heart2:

The male Beyonce did that:clap3:

Bruno's 24k Magic did 231k SPS first week (missing #1) on a MUCH better climate (and a Q4 on top of that) with it being his first album after doing Super Bowl twice, his first after his biggest hit ever Uptown Funk, at the back of heavy promotion and a hit (the title track).

Let's not get delusional calling 400k "decent" and just "700k+" huge.

ATRL dragged Bruno for the 231k SPS, iirc. Most members called him out for his lack of star power and a loyal fanbase. Timberlake has the Superbowl, where he'll perform one or two of the album's songs in front of 120M people on release week , plus he's more established, he's been around longer and, unlike Bruno who's never had a gigantic first week, he's had big openings before. Outdoing Bruno has to be a given. He should be able to easily double him. Not to mention Bruno shut people up by having an era with longevity and legs. It's been over a year since the era started and the album is still top 10 on Billboard with its 4th single in the top 5 and its first 2 singles still in the top 100 on Spotify and iTunes, so he made his first week irrelevant. Justin doesn't seem to be heading down the same road, making his first week all the more important

Who else has released an album the same week as their Superbowl performance? Anyone?

Superbowl is HUUUUUUUUUGE promo, but even without it he would still be #1

I'm predicting 340k-380k (pure) and 400k sps, those are big numbers:emofish:

I don't think he will open with 800k-1M

Posted

764k

What kind of vague estimate... hope we're still getting figures tonight.

I really don't see him hitting 1m.

Drake's numbers are from 2016, JT's from 2013. Hardly a good comparison, considering the sales climates.

lmao all these numbers

250k max

I expect 1M pure at the very least

anything less would be sad given all of the things he benefits from :celestial5:

They are obviously waiting on the initial Super Bowl boost to give any numbers. Make sense

I would be surprised if he does over 400k, but we'll see

Nah I think HDD will give the estimate later today (Saturday). I would guess 300k+ pure sales.

MDNA’s preorder was on Super Bowl week, not album release.
