Body Electrician Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 (edited) As of January 20, 2018, Lana Del Rey's major label debut album 'Born to Die' spends its 300th week (or 5.75 years) on the Billboard 200, making it one of only 20 albums in history to achieve this feat. It is particularly impressive as only one single from the album, Video Games, charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #91. The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200, selling 77,000 copies in its first week. Since its release it has gone on to sell 1.5 million copies in the USA and over 2 million with SEA/TEA. The album is estimated at over 7 million copies worldwide and has been streamed over 2.7 billion times. Born to Die is the longest charting debut album by a female artist in Billboard history, the 2nd longest charting debut album in Billboard history, the 3rd longest charting album by a female artist in Billboard history and the 20th longest charting album in Billboard history. https://www.billboard.com/music/lana-del-rey/chart-history/billboard-200/song/730154 The other 19 albums with 300+ weeks on the chart Spoiler (937 weeks) The Dark Side of the Moon – Pink Floyd (503 weeks) Legend – Bob Marley and the Wailers (493 weeks) Journey's Greatest Hits – Journey (490 weeks) Johnny's Greatest Hits – Johnny Mathis (480 weeks) My Fair Lady – Original Cast Recording (464 weeks) Metallica – Metallica (426 weeks) Greatest Hits – Guns N' Roses (383 weeks) Nevermind – Nirvana (374 weeks) Curtain Call: The Hits – Eminem (358 weeks) 21 – Adele (356 weeks) Doo-Wops & Hooligans – Bruno Mars (348 weeks) Chronicle: The 20 Greatest Hits – Creedence Clearwater Revival (347 weeks) The Eminem Show – Eminem (331 weeks) Highlights from the Phantom of the Opera – Original Cast Recording (318 weeks) Tapestry – Carole King (316 weeks) Thriller – Michael Jackson (305 weeks) Oklahoma! – Soundtrack (304 weeks) Recovery – Eminem (303 weeks) Back in Black – AC/DC Edited January 17, 2018 by Body Electrician

Dragonfly Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 (edited) What an album Let me give it some streams today I vividly remember hearing Video Games for the first time, falling in love with the Born to Die video, waiting for the release, and being disappointed when my mom accidently bought the standard edition Edited January 17, 2018 by Dragonfly

Lose My Breath Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Why would they discount SS though? I know it was a remix, but to say Video Games was the only song to chart seems incorrect Anyway, Queen
Jump Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 What a timeless album I wonder what ms Lizzy thinks of this feat?

Mindful Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 The US is still repenting for sleeping on her during the btd era itself. Amazing achievement that this iconic album deserves.
