The theme for the 2024 Met Gala has been revealed. The event will be on Monday, May 6th. Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez & Chris Hemsworth will be the co-chairs. Speaking in advance of this morning's announcement, Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute, said: "Fashion is one of the most emotional artistic forms because of its connection to the body. It is imbued with memory and emotions, and we relate to it very much via our senses. One thing I hope this show will activate is that sensorial appreciation of fashion." Bolton explained that the exhibition will be structured around approximately 50 historically significant and aesthetically beautiful pieces from the collection that are far too fragile ever to be worn again. "These are the 'Sleeping Beauties' of the title," he said. Instead of fulfilling their original worn function, these pieces – including that Elizabethan bodice and a silk satin ballgown by the American couturier Charles Frederick Worth from 1877 that was the show's original inspiration – will instead be transformed through display.

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), will be presented on Sunday, September 15th. The ceremony will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and broadcast live on ABC. The 76th edition will be honoring American primetime programs that aired between June 1, 2023 and May 31, 2024. The Creative Arts ceremonies, where the majority of awards will be given out, will occur on Saturday and Sunday, September 7th and 8th. Nominations will be announced on July 17th. Eligibility period: June 1, 2023 - May 31, 2024 First-round voting: June 13-24 Second-round voting: August 15-26 The Television Academy announced several rule changes, including eliminating Outstanding Short Form Animated Program (these will now be submitted to Outstanding Animated Program) and Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series & Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series being combined into one category (Outstanding Performer in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series). This was a very good interview. She talked about racism and sexism in the country music industry. Being introduced to The Chicks' music is what made her fall in love with country music. She was asked how "Blackbird" came to be and declined to answer. She basically said it's not her story to tell yet and that Beyonce may share the story later. I wouldn't be surprised if Beyonce asked the girls to agree to not talk about the specifics of how the song came together, and possibly sign NDAs. I like that she's getting some promo outside of the country scene. She needs it. Kind of reminds me of how Kacey found success outside of country radio. Give the good sis a few streams:

The 2024 Latin Grammy Awards, which celebrates the Latin Recording Academy's 25th edition, will be held on November 14th. After last year's stint in Spain, the ceremony will be returning to the US and held in Miami at the Kaseya Center. Nominations will be announced on September 17th. Two new categories will be added: Best Latin Electronic Music Performance, housed within the new Electronic Music Field, and Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album (in the Regional-Mexican Field).
