  2. A Godzilla spin-off series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, premiered on November 17th on Apple TV+ as an addition to Legendary's MonsterVerse. The show will take place in the aftermath of Legendary's 2014 Godzilla film. This is the second series in the MonsterVerse, following Netflix's animated Skull Island. The show is created by Chris Black and developed by Black and Matt Fraction. The show is scheduled for 10 episodes. "Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters tracks two siblings following in their father's footsteps to uncover their family's connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives." 4. VARIETY: ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel Series ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’ Ordered at HBO The “Game of Thrones” prequel based on George R.R. Martin’s “Dunk and Egg” books is officially moving forward at HBO. It also comes a little over two years after Variety exclusively reported that the series was in development. The series is currently titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.” The official logline states, “A century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.” Martin will serve as writer and executive producer, as will Ira Parker, who was a co-executive producer on Season 1 of “House of the Dragon.” “Game of Thrones” and “House of the Dragon” vets Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis will serve as executive producers.

Source Targaryens seem to be the only House that keeps the lights on on HBO (and before y'all start, Jon Snow is to the Targaryens what La Toya is to the Jacksons)
  7. This is the documentary that exposes the child acting industry, the Nickelodeon empire, Dan Schneider, and predatory behavior on set. A 2-part event that starts tonight on Investigation Discovery on 9pm/8c. Will also be available on Max.
  8. After presumably being pushed back due to the Hollywood strikes, True Detective returns in 2024 featuring 2 female leads for the first time in its four-season-run. This will also be the first season without creator Nic Pizzolatto's involvement. From Inverse: "Jodie Foster leads True Detective: Night Country as Liz Danvers, the chief of police of Ennis, Alaska, a small town embroiled in an ongoing battle between its Indigenous residents and the powerful mining company whose widespread pollution is an open secret. On the edge of this town sits an arctic research station where eight researchers suddenly all go missing one night. When the researchers are discovered frozen naked in the ice a few days later, the bizarre case’s connection to a missing Indigenous girl forces Danvers and her former partner Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) to reluctantly reunite to solve a years-old mystery." For those new to True Detective, each season is self-contained, so there is no required viewing to understand any of the seasons. Each season is usually headed by 2 or 3 high profile stars in the eponymous detective roles. Tbh only S1 is worth your time; it is one of the best seasons of TV. It basically saw diminishing returns in succeeding seasons like AHS but maybe S4 will reverse this. Season 1 Starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson Season 2 Starring Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, and Taylor Kitsch Season 3 Starring Mahershala Ali

  10. Love the movie. So far it's an 8 episode limited series but "there is a possibility to go beyond the first installment if it's a hit,” according to the report from Deadline: https://deadline.com/2023/02/ripley-showtime-andrew-scott-netflix-limited-series-1235255479/#comments
