The pop singer Raye has made Brit awards history by becoming the first artist to score seven nominations in a single year, crowning a remarkable career turnaround after spending years in limbo at a major record label. Topping strong female representation with solo women or all-female groups making up more than half of the overall nominees, Raye scored two nominations for song of the year, plus nods in the artist, pop and R&B categories, and – despite her debut release coming out 10 years ago – in the new artist category. EXCLUSIVE: Julia Fox‘s shocking New York Times bestselling tell-all, Down the Drain, about her rise from tumultuous youth to dominatrix to multi-hyphenate fashionista-actress and social media influencer, is being developed into a series with Joey Soloway behind it; the actress told Deadline on Friday at our Sundance Film Festival studio. Fox stopped by with the cast of Steven Soderbergh’s spooky house movie Presence, which is having its world premiere tonight at the Library Theatre in Park City. Down the Drain, which hit store shelves in October, follows Fox’s childhood with volatile parents between Italy and New York City; her moments with an abusive, drug-dealing boyfriend who continued to torment her from within Rikers Island; her own trips to jail as well as to a psychiatric hospital; her work as a dominatrix that led to a complicated entanglement with a sugar daddy; a heroin habit that led to New Orleans trap houses and that she would kick only after the fatal overdose of her best friend; her own near-lethal overdoses and the deaths of still more friends from drugs and suicide; and her trials as a single parent striving to support her young son among other interludes which were part of her ascent as a home-grown fashion designer and star of the Adam Sandler-starring cult noir thriller Uncut Gems. Fox told us that the TV series is bound to be “meta” with herself potentially playing herself, while she auditions another actress to be herself. “There has been some interest, so we’ll see,” Fox said. Presence reps the second time Fox has starred in a Soderbergh movie, the first being the HBO Max noir title No Sudden Move. Soloway is the two-time Emmy-winning creator of the Amazon series Transparent. They won Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series twice, in 2015 and 2016. Soloway was a producer on HBO’s Six Feet Under and Showtime’s The United States of Tara, as well as the creator, and a director on the Amazon Kevin Bacon-Kathryn Hahn series I Love Dick.

For those new to True Detective, each season is self-contained, so there is no required viewing to understand any of the seasons. Each season is usually headed by 2 or 3 high profile stars in the eponymous detective roles. Tbh only S1 is worth your time; it is one of the best seasons of TV. It basically saw diminishing returns in succeeding seasons like AHS but maybe S4 will reverse this. Starting a thread for Paramount Plus's latest streaming series Paper Dolls, which was brought to life by Bardot band member Belinda Chapple and recently launched on Paramount Plus. Not sure if this is available globally through the streaming service but wanted to bring awareness to the series as it's absolutely perfect for ATRLers and is a soapy drama series that is grittier than you would expect as times when it comes to mental health issues and how some of the characters deal with this. As a long-time fan of Bardot who had massive local success on the back of being bought together on Popstars Australia at its absolute peak, the series is very much inspired by the band's time in-market and the similarities are easy to pick out if you've binge watched their season on YouTube or read Belinda's autobiography released this year "The Girl In The Band". I am onto the start of episode three and all five of the actresses could easily pass as an actual girlgroup when it comes to vocals and choreography. Their shopping centre performance was a slay and the 00s nostalgia really stands out when it comes to aesthetics. Paper Dolls follows five aspiring singers who are thrust into the spotlight in pursuit of pop-stardom and fame. Never far from the watchful eye of the cameras, fans and critics, HARLOW is born out of music reality television show Pop Rush, redefining pop culture in the process. Just saw the biggest music contest in Europe (in the world?) after the Eurovision has not a thread.
