WE ARE BACK WITH SEASON 13!! Since 2012, ATRL Survivor has crowned twelve winners (borntodie, Adr, –brian, Yvess, Element, URBAN, Aciid, kipperskipper, dussymob, Buddy!, boys, Rotunda). Now it's time to begin the thirteenth (!) installment of the Survivor franchise that began eleven years ago. How does the game of Survivor work? The Game: 22 contestants will be placed into tribes during the pre–merge phase. Each round before the Merge is quite simple to complete – you will be given a theme and must submit a song that best represents that theme. Once you send in a song and it hasn't been chosen, it's LOCKED in. The judging panel then rates your song on a scale of 1 to 10 based on how well it fits the theme. You and your tribe members' scores are tallied up, then averaged into one final number. The tribe with the lowest overall average then heads to Tribal Council where one member is voted off. The process repeats until a certain number of you remain (called the Merge) and your challenges then become more complex. Contestants then will become part of the Jury where they eventually vote for the winner. Reminders: We give the contestants 24 hours to send in a song (although it often takes less) during the beginning rounds. That may sound like a short amount of time, but all you are doing is sending a song with no explanation required. Some rounds you'll submit within a couple minutes. Others you may have to think for a little while. If you are a member that is often banned and want to join, only join if you plan on not getting banned during this process. If you are banned from ATRL, you are eliminated and can not continue playing via outside contact. Please don’t play this game if you intend on quitting in the near or distant future. Double eliminations will happen to ensure the game keeps moving. We will be using a Discord server for this game where you will be submitting songs directly to us, receiving announcements, AND completing confessionals (!) every round, which will be open to a select group of viewers that we trust explicitly. If you don't complete your confessional, you will receive a penalty. This season is very unique in that we'll be casting half newbies and half returnees (aka Fans vs. Favorites), who will play together. The favorites have been already selected, so we will only be looking for newbies! This season will have interesting twists, idols, and much more! Each player will apply as an artist of their choice. It can be anyone, troll or not if they're not on the banned artists list below. 2. If we get more than 20 sign-ups, there will be an audition round for the applicants to send in the taste tester aka audition song. Only [redacted number] will be our final cast. 3. In each round, there will be a theme and you will have to submit a song from your artist's discography that fits the theme the best. YOU MAY NEED TO EXPLAIN YOUR CHOICE. FEEL FREE TO DO THAT. THE JUDGES ARE ENCOURAGED TO READ THE EXPLANATION. 4. When the entries are locked, the judges will give each a score out of ten. The worst 2/3 players in each round will be up for elimination in the sing-off where the loser will get the chop. 5. There might be a comeback round. SING-OFF 1. Sing-off will be only for the bottoms in each round where they need to send in a LIVE PERFORMANCE of their artist in order to survive the sing-off. 2. You can send in a live performance of a song you already used in the main round. But the live performance of that said song can be used once in the sing off. For example, I submit Lorde's Fallen Fruit on James Corden show for round 1 sing-off. Then I'm in the sing-off again in round 2, I can't submit Fallen Fruit performance on Global Citizen because I've already used Fallen Fruit performance. 3. The focus of the sing-off will be focused on the whole performance and not just the vocal aspect. SCORING 1. For the main rounds, the judges will score your entry out of 10 points. The criteria is 5 points for 'on theme' and 5 points for 'personal taste'. 2. For the sing-off, the judges will pick their favorite sing-off performance based on the whole performance and not just vocals. Let’s get festive and end the year with some Holiday fun together! After the Halloween Special in October went down well we've decided to do another Special, this time focusing on songs written for the Holiday season. For anybody who isn't familiar, Golden Hit is a songwriting game. Anybody can join, whether you’ve been writing songs for years, or never written one in your life! There’s no bad time to start, so why not give it a try? We have a new set of great judges that will be going over each song submitted; together they will declare which songs are naughty or nice, who will receive coal and who will be getting the present of scoring #1! Judges: @Augmented @Achilles. @JoeAg @TruGemini The four judges will read, review and score each song written, while also offering their feedback for each entry. Given all of their past successes in Golden Hit themselves, their judgement will definitely be valuable and useful constructively. To specify, for this Holiday Special we specifically are asking for songs that are written revolving around and in the theme of the Holiday season. You don’t have to choose any one specific Holiday to draw inspiration from and we definitely encourage writers to be as ambitious and creative as they desire, but the songs submitted should ultimately be inspired by the festive season in some form, and that could be taken from any Holiday in spirit with this time of year (eg. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Years, etc.) As this is a busy time of year submissions will be open for one week starting from today, until 19th December 11:59PM eastern time. Welcome to the INAUGURAL season of my new game: ARBITRARY SONG CONTEST! Inspired by this sections' "love" of song sending games, Arbitrary Song Contest flips the concept on its head, with each round asking for songs that fit a series of three completely arbitrary criteria. So while other games ask the contestants for broad themes, or others lack the budget to have all the letters, this game is completely random in the hopes that it can spur some creativity and surprises in the entries. HOW IT WORKS The rules are straightforward, each round will have three pieces of random criteria. Your entries (sent to me either via PM or Discord) must satisfy all criteria. Once entries are posted anonymously, you will give each song a proper chance, provide comments in the thread and send me your ranking. Ranks will assign scores to each entry resulting in a combined average across all participants, and each round the lowest scorers will be eliminated. As an example, a round may ask for a song that (1) has a female vocalist, (2) has only one word as the title, and (3) was released after 2016. I could send "Bags" by Clairo (and win the round obviously). When you send your entry (again, via PM or Discord), you must make sure it satisfies ALL criteria. You can send the name alone or send a streaming link if you have a specific version in mind. I will confirm if the entry is yours. They are known as the four horsemen of the apocalypse, and their goal is simple: devour your souls. The successful first two seasons of Golden Hit have inspired them to attack, and your creativity drives them; they will drag you to hell for even the slightest taste. The Game: 16 contestants will be placed into the BB house where they will compete for Head of Household every round. The HOH will proceed to nominate two houseguest for eviction where they will be given the chance to win the veto to save themselves. ATRL Member's World Cup 2022 ● 32 members. ● 8 groups of 4 members play the Group Stage. ● The first and second place members of each group go on to the next round. ● There is a match for third place (the two loser semifinalists). Gameplay ● You just have to vote for the winner. Rules of the Game (Group Stage): ● The 32 players will be divided into 8 groups (the groups were organized by all the referees), from Group A to H. The first round, or Group Stage, will see the thirty-two teams divided into eight groups of four teams. Each group will compete in a round-robin of six games, where each team will play one match against each of the other teams in the same group. Teams will be awarded three points for a win, one point for a draw and none for a defeat. The teams finishing first and second in each group will progress to the Round of 16. When Teams Not Allowed To Vote Teams are not allowed to vote in for the same group's matches to prevent collusion. [ex.: When Group B's matches are conducted, no one from Group B is allowed to vote, and so on.] Tie-breaking criteria The ranking of each team in each group will be determined as follows: Greater number of points in all group matches Goal difference in all group matches Greater number of goals scored in all group matches Greatest number of points in matches between tied teams Goal difference in matches between tied teams Greatest number of goals scored in matches between tied teams If all criteria has been exhausted, especially if it is to determine who advances or gets top spot, a special tiebreaker game among the tied teams in question will commence. The winner of the tiebreaker game gets either the top spot or the 2nd spot, while the loser gets either the runner-up spot or is eliminated. If we are tied after regulation, the game heads straight to a penalty shootout. Knockout stage (Round of 16 onwards) The Knockout stage will involve the sixteen members that advanced from the Group Stage of the tournament. There will be four rounds of matches, with each round eliminating half of the teams entering that round. The successive rounds are the Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and the Final. There will also be a Play-Off to decide third and fourth place. For each game in the Knockout stage, any draw after 9 votes will result in a penalty shootout to determine who will progress to the next round. Refusal to submit penalty shootout guesses in a timely manner results in a 1-0 forfeit loss. Round of 16 Quadrants A (Groups A and B) B (Groups C and D) C (Groups E and F) D (Groups G and H) When Teams Not Allowed To Vote - In the Round of 16, teams are not allowed to cast a vote for the same quadrant's matches to prevent collusion. [ex.: When Quadrant A's matches are conducted, no one in Quadrant A (Groups A and B) is allowed to vote, and so on.] - In the Round of 8, the participating teams of a match are not allowed to vote. - In the Semifinals, all semifinals participants are not allowed to cast a vote to prevent collusion. - In the Final and 3rd Place Game, the participating teams of a match are not allowed to vote. Welcome, everyone! I am your host for a riveting, ghastly event called Escape the Castle. Read closely, it’s the key to your escape… and survival. Escape the Castle is a live, group event on different days where contestants will be entering and getting locked into a castle with the goal of finding the key within the castle to escape. The team that finds the key the fastest during their event will be the winners. How does this work? After sign-ups are completed (by Wednesday evening), everyone will be assigned a group. Groups can discuss in the thread who they want to be leader, but contestants in the group must vote in the poll (posted Thursday) by Monday morning. Leaders will be announced on Monday evening. Leaders will be the designated spokesperson for the group. I will talk about that more as I explain further. Events will be held on either a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening (EST) of the week. The first event will be held on 10/4 at 9 PM (the group going that day will be announced Thursday if they want to talk to each other beforehand). The rest of the dates for the other groups in October are to be decided. During the event, the timer for the group will begin once I make the first post announcing the group has entered the castle and requesting that the group make a choice between the directions offered. The group can discuss, but the leader makes the final decision and the decision must be in bold. I will then post the next set of directional or situational options. Is there more to this? Are there twists? The twist is that every time you choose to enter a room, you will be asked to either choose to investigate for traps (which will hinder your time) or not investigate and risk being in a trap (which is a ten minute penalty that is added to your final time). The only exception are the rooms that house serial killers. Once a serial killer is found, a randomizer will “kill” a player and that player will no longer be able to continue the game. If the leader is killed, the randomizer will choose a new leader automatically. Can the other groups cheat and remember our directions? No, each group gets a different map (which you will not be able to see until the event that night is over). WELCOME TO THE THIRD ATRL WORD SEARCH GAME How does it work? A word search with a word bank will be given. (Three word searches for the game overall, alternating and integrating the themes of spring and pop artists.) Each person can only find ONE word per round. If you find a word, state: 1) the word found 2) the two cross-section numbers (the top and side numbers that intersect) of the first letter of the word for us to be able to find the word 3) the direction aka whether the word goes across, diagonal (to the right, up, etc.), backwards (going up, to the left, etc.), down. For clarification, if I cannot find the word from the cross-section numbers and direction, it will not be counted. There are no sign ups, so join whenever you feel! In homage to writing tournaments prior, Golden Hit aims to find and award ATRL's top talent. Players will pick a celebrity they want to represent, they can be male, female, or anything in between, all are welcomed. Each round you will submit a photo to the host that best represents the theme of that round. The judges will deliberate and make a decision as to who gave the strongest and weakest performance. In order to select our newest Archivist, we will test twelve individuals on a their abilities of thievery, detection, deception, and wit. Who are we looking for? Anyone. The more unique, the better. For more information, please fill out our file below. Character Creation Heists Heists are the main challenges in The Heist. Each round, a Heist will be revealed and it is your job to use your strategic wits to escape the scenario. There are four types of Heists. Captures Captures are the traditional heist goal. You have to find, retrieve, and bring back a designated item from a location. The type of item and location will vary, but they will almost always be small items that can be stolen without notice. Assassinations Assassinations are missions that require you to kill a specific target and escape the scenario alive. Kidnappings Kidnappings require you to successfully abduct a target and escape the scenario. Combinations Some heists will be combinations of the above types, to provide extra challenge to those who make it far into the competition. To determine who passes a Heist, myself and two other judges will examine the scenarios presented and make a majority rules decision. If interest is high, public voting will become present and also play a factor. Eliminations If you do not successfully complete your Heist, you will be sent into elimination. Eliminations are a variety of challenges and tasks that will test you mental and strategic aptness. Eliminations are NOT required each round (if everyone completes the scenario, the next round starts shortly thereafter) and you can PASS them (with the exclusion of Head to Heads, which are done when only 2 people are in elimination.) Money As with any heist, Money will play a huge factor. Everyone starts with $25 in their accounts, throughout the competition, you will have opportunities to add more through successful heists and more. With money, you can buy items to help get through heists easier, along with healing packs to get rid of damage from prior heists if needed. If you fail a heist, you will be deducted a 20% fee, but if you win an elimination, you will receive it back plus additional funds. Most importantly, at the end, the person with the highest money total will be the winner of The Heist. Spend wisely. Additional Information After each round ends, those that proceed will be allowed to upgrade their character, which will be specific to each background type. Rounds will typically last 5 days, so expect this game to last until the beginning of September. There is a slight possibility class advantages/disadvantages might change before the game starts, not the categories, but the way their weighed against actual scores. Every round I will ask for either a song, single, or album track. Song can be both a single or an album track, whereas a single needs to be officially released as such (promo singles included), and an album track cannot be officially released as a single Every round I will then give you a few "vanishing letters," and these letters cannot appear in either artist’s name or the song title or sometimes both (this part will be specified round-by-round). Golden Hit: Season 1 Five years ago today, a new tournament debuted on ATRL titled “Platinum Hit 10.5”. This was a song writing tournament unlike any other that had occurred on the site before, in that it had one key difference: it wasn’t actually a tournament at all, as nobody would be eliminated. Intended to be the first of a recurring series, despite its success ATRL has never seen another game like this in the five years since; until now. @Aurora and I are very happy to celebrate today’s five year anniversary by rebooting this unique writing experience as “Golden Hit”! Golden Hit is simple in concept: each week, players will be presented with a challenge. These challenges consist of prompts and inspiration for a song that we want you to write and will be submitted to be reviewed by Golden Hit’s judging panel. The judges will score each entry and at the end of the round your submissions will be ranked. At the end of Golden Hit, each player's scores from each week will be averaged out and you will receive an overall score for your Golden Hit journey. THE JUDGING PANEL @Aurora @Element @fountain Each round will run for one week: rounds will be posted on Saturday’s, and entries will be due by Thursday’s. Themes can range from a specific color, patterns, stripes, or even something unexpected. The judging panel will rank each outfit on a 1 to 10 scale and decide where the contestants fall on the rankings. The top three scorers will find themselves on the Best Dressed List. The top three will decide who among the bottom three will be eliminated unless stated otherwise. Being smart about who you eliminate can get you very far in the competition. Having an alliance will definitely help as the contestants never know who could be in power from week to week. With twists always waiting around the corner, it's vital everyone stays on their toes as only three (or four.. or five) of them will make it to Fashion Week, where the judges will look at their portfolios from the entire season and decide a winner. I, Baby Z, will be your main host and only host this season! It's our eighteenth season and I hope for another amazing season with great ratings What is it? Every round, you must send in a song to meet a specification for that particular round; I prefer this to be done over YouTube if at all possible. After everyone has submitted their song, each contestant will be given a link with every song, and they must then listen to them and rank them (not including their own song). Based on these rankings, all scores from each contestant will be combined and the contestants with the lowest overall score will be eliminated. This format will continue (with surprises throughout) until we are left with the winner of ATRL's Song Contest. We still keep the banned artists and banned songs from the last season, so please check the list before sending your entry. You can't send in songs and artists which have been banned. This season, Ed Sheeran is banned.
