✮ WELCOME TO THE FIRST SEASON OF SINGING WITH THE STARS ✮ In this game, ATRLs will have the opportunity to coach their favorite artists, choosing their best live performances to take them into the grand finale. The game is very simple, but it will have some twists and turns. Each week coaches will have to post a video of a live performance from their act. After Entries Time judges will post their opinion and grades for each performance taking every aspect into consideration. The three acts with the lowest grades will be at risk of elimination, and ATRLs will be able to save their favorite contestant with their votes. You are NOT be able to change your act. Each performance has to be of a different song unless it is a medley. Some weeks you will have to post an additional video of your act that could get you some extra points. Each week, one judge will have Secret Vote. His or her grades will be revealed on Results Night. If you don't post a video during Entries Time, your act will be automatically at risk of elimination. No act can have Immunity two weeks in a row. After a year-long hiatus, Survivor has returned to ATRL with brand new hosts, judges, and twists! Since 2012, ATRL Survivor has crowned six winners (borntodie, Adr, -brian, Yvess, Element, & URBAN). Now it's time to begin the seventh installment of the Survivor franchise that began five years ago. How does the game of Survivor work? The Game: 24 contestants will be placed into tribes during the pre-merge phase Each round before the Merge is quite simple to complete - you will be given a theme and must submit a song that best represents that theme. The judging panel then rates your song on a scale of 1 to 10 based on how well it fits the theme. You and your tribe members' scores are tallied up, then averaged into one final number. The tribe with the lowest overall average then heads to Tribal Council where one member is voted off. The process repeats until a certain number of you remain (called the Merge) and your challenges then become more complex. Contestants will become part of the Jury where they eventually vote for the winner when only 3 castaways are left standing. Reminders: We give the contestants 24 hours to send in a song (although it often takes less) during the beginning rounds. That may sound like a short amount of time, but all you are doing is sending a song with no explanation required. Some rounds you'll submit within a couple minutes. Others you may have to think for a little while. If you are a member that is often banned and want to join, only join if you plan on not getting banned during this process. If you are banned from ATRL, you are eliminated and can not continue playing via outside contact. Double eliminations will happen to ensure the game keeps moving. Anyone can sign up regardless of how many times they have played previously. I don't really have new rules, but I have to attract the gays. Here's the gist: With every new round will come a new challenge (obviously). These challenges will share a common theme from which you will create "a trinity – three songs [unless otherwise stated] that work together to represent the challenge. These interpretations should be creative, but not over our heads. All entries will be posted in the thread," (Hug). If the judges think you slay you'll place high, maybe even in the top 3, colloquially known as the Golden Trinity. If you go from Prism to Witness, you'll land yourself in the Flop Trinity. There are no limits to who you can choose, as long as you think there are enough shots that can get you through the tournament. Famous actors, singers, models, social media celebrities- you name it, you can play. What is most important is a diverse portfolio of professional shots you can submit during the game. Every round, there will be a different theme or topic that you must submit an entry for. It may be a colour, an emotion, or even an abstract idea. ATRL's original game "Choose The Album, Then a Song" is back for its anticipated ninth season. After a few months hiatus and a cancelled season, I am ready to bring back the game that we all love and dedicate ourselves into on its original concept... Just with a few changes. Keep in mind that this post will be constantly updated with the season's results, hot links and possible news. Even though a lot of you are familiar with the concept, I understand that not everyone is on the same page. Therefore, let me quickly remind you of what "Choose The Album, Then a Song" consists of. It is a very wide game. We welcome diversity, knowledge, music of all types and we are welcoming to everyone who is willing to get to know their favorite albums better and willing to share their music taste (and sometimes curiosities) with us... But just like in everything, there's rules to follow. 1. There's not such thing as bad losers; We are all here to have fun and share our favorite music with everyone. 2. Every contestant must cast a vote each round; The main purpose of the game is to introduce everyone to new music. If this rule isn't applied, only the judges will benefit from it. 3. Every entry must contain a written part; To fully understand your decision, you will be required to send in an essay along with the song chosen. 4. A song can only be used twice and can only be use three rounds after; This will allow you to explore your album further. 5. Deadlines must be respected by contestants and judges; There will be three updates throughout the week. 6. There's no space for stan wars or called voters; The main purpose of this game is to introduce everyone to knew music. Therefore, we don't want any fights or any type of voting manipulation. 7. Welcome to SEASON 5.5 of The Photoshop Game! Here you will test your Photoshop and graphic design skills, as well as learn a few new tricks in the process. How Does the Game Work? To start out you will select a celebrity that you will use throughout the game. Each round the judges will score your entry out of 10 points. All of the scores will be averaged together to give you your score for your entry. To get a better idea of how this season will go you can take a peek at the previous seasons: S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 This season's twist We're going to try something different this season. You're going to be making an album era over 5 rounds. In round 2, you'll be making an album cover and tracklist that'll be used for the rest of the season. We're telling you this now so you'll have time to plan it thoroughly before you have to make it. After that round, you'll be making various forms of promo and other things for the album. On top of that, there's not going to be any eliminations. The winner will be whoever has the highest cumulative score at the end. Rules 1. You must have Photoshop on your computer. It doesn’t matter what version. 2. Once the signups are closed you will not be allowed to change your celebrity. 3. Unlike previous seasons, you will NOT have to send in the picture you would like to use for the challenge to be approved. This is your entry and we’re trusting your judgment. 4. Every round will have a deadline and, thus, we expect everyone to meet it. We understand things come up, emergencies happen, and if an extension must be made then EVERYONE will get a few extra days to work on the challenge if need be. To keep the game running as seamlessly as possible, though, we ask that everyone starts working on a new challenge ASAP in order to meet the deadline and turn it in early if you can so we don’t run into any of these issues. 5. Back again! I’m happy to debut the first mini season of Platinum Hit! Intended to reinterpret Platinum Hit in game changing ways, with ".5" seasons the focus is to bring a fresh and exciting update on the Platinum Hit format, without taking away from the simplicity that we appreciate from main seasons. With PH 10.5 the concept is simple - no eliminations. This season will run for 6 challenges - over the course of the game nobody will lose their place, instead the winner will be calculated using your overall average from each round. This offers both new writers and veterans a chance to take something away from the game. New writers have the opportunity to hone and improve their writing without fear of elimination, while veterans enjoy the chance to write outside of the box and try new styles. Ultimately, the season can be whatever you want from it - everybody who signs up has a place here from the start until the final, with the in between filled with the usual PH creative achievements and fun. Welcome back! If you’ve never played before and don’t know what this is - Platinum Hit is simply ATRL’s songwriting game. Each week players are presented with a challenge, for which they write a song suited to. For example, a song focused on a specific area of writing eg. imagery or storytelling, a song focused on a specific topic, etc. Entries are then reviewed and scored by the judging panel of PH alumni and results are revealed. Hello, and welcome to the very first season of ATRL: The Mole! Based on the TV show of the same name, The Mole invites all contestants to compete in challenges calling for teamwork, integrity and honesty. Well, almost all of you. Among your ranks is The Mole. The Mole is a secret saboteur whose role is to quietly wreak havoc and derail the entire operation. They must be smart, sly and invisible. It is your job to sniff out The Mole and win the title of Last Contestant Standing. And please pardon the banner. I tried my best with what limited skill set I have. Twenty contestants will take part in this epic journey of friendly deception. Initially, contestants will be broken up into two teams of 10. The contestants will complete a short personality inventory which will be posted (for a short while) for the other contestants to study. Then, one contestant will be selected as The Mole. The Mole must exercise absolute discretion and must have a subtle, yet sinister effect on the overall outcome of the challenges. It may even be in your best interest to act as The Mole to throw everybody off the scent. It is entirely up to you how to play. Honest and upfront, cunning and mischievous, the choice is yours. Besides The Mole, four other contestants will be vested with special powers. These are detailed below: 1. Prince/Princess Charming – Prince/Princess Charming can use his or her power to compel the host to divulge the score they received on their quiz OR communications between the opposing team (up to one time for each; must be used before Round 6) 2. The Saviour – The Saviour can use his/her power to resurrect any other player that has been previously eliminated from Rounds 1 - 8 and awaits in Limbo (up to one time; must be used before Round 8; cannot be used on yourself) 3. The Trickster – The Trickster can use his/her power to compel the host to “botch” their contribution to certain challenges where submission to the host is required. Any player who answers the question “Who is The Mole?” with the trickster for that round will receive a penalty of -1 point on their quiz total (up to two times; must be used after Round 6) 4. The Billionaire – The Billionaire can use his/her power to purchase an exemption for any other player of their choosing, provided they won an exemption for that particular round (up to two times; must be used before Round 10; cannot be used on yourself) Here are some other important concepts for this game: 1. THE MESS HALL The Mess Hall is the common area for all players to discuss the happenings of the game. Teams can mingle with members from the other team, perhaps planting seeds of doubts or outright lies in order to throw the other team off. It is a great area to scope out the other players and keeping an eye out for anything suspicious, or little bits of information that may come in handy eventually. Anything goes in The Mess Hall. 2. THE CHALLENGE ZONE For each challenge, players will be summoned to The Challenge Zone. This is where teams will be briefed on their tasks and rules and requirements will be outlined. Private chats between teams will be created for private discussions, however at the completion of the quiz for the particular round, these will be deleted. The Challenge Zone is a great place to discuss strategy and talk alliances. Teams will eventually be dissolved, but alliances can last a lifetime, unless you align with The Mole. 3. THE MOLE HILL The Mole Hill is where the quiz will take place. Players will be asked to answer a series of questions regarding the identity of The Mole. The player with the lowest score on the quiz will be eliminated. There is no prize for a perfect score, only that you will not be eliminated. If two or more players are tied for the lowest score, the player who submitted the quiz last will be eliminated. 4. LIMBO Limbo is where all eliminated players will float. Players in Limbo will have a chance of returning to the game if saved by The Saviour. Limbo will last until Round 8. 5. EXEMPTIONS Exemptions are possible rewards for completing challenges. Exemptions allow players to skip the quiz and thus avoid elimination. Whilst teams still exist, all members of the winning team will be granted exemptions. When teams are dissolved, the winner of each challenge will be granted an exemption. 6. FREEBIES Freebies are possible rewards for completing challenges. Any player who has been granted a freebie can submit the freebie token alongside their quiz answers to have one wrong answer corrected. The correct answer will not be told to the player and they will merely receive an extra point on the quiz thus giving them a higher chance of avoiding elimination. I intend on updating this game fairly regularly and I hope that my creativity in coming up with challenges keeps it fun and engaging. If you require any clarification, please do not hesitate to ask. I am extremely happy to answer any question you may have. Teams/players will be competing for virtual coins to add to the kitty. These coins may come in useful at later stages of the game. Welcome to the FIFTH SEASON of The Photoshop Game! Here you will test your Photoshop and graphic design skills, as well as learn a few new tricks in the process. Winner will receive a year's subscription to ATRL+, courtesy of @Fenrir. How Does the Game Work? To start out you will select a celebrity that you will use throughout the game. For most of the challenges you will use your celebrity as the focal point of your design, but there may be one or two challenges where you will not need them. Each round the judges will score your entry out of 10 points. All of the scores will be averaged together to give you your score for your entry. To get a better idea of how this season will go you can take a peek at the previous seasons: S1, S2, S3, S4 Rules 1. You must have Photoshop on your computer. It doesn’t matter what version. 2. Once the signups are closed you will not be allowed to change your celebrity. 3. Unlike previous seasons, you will NOT have to send in the picture you would like to use for the challenge to be approved. This is your entry and we’re trusting your judgment. 4. Every round will have a deadline and, thus, we expect everyone to meet it. We understand things come up, emergencies happen, and if an extension must be made then EVERYONE will get a few extra days to work on the challenge if need be. To keep the game running as seamlessly as possible, though, we ask that everyone starts working on a new challenge ASAP in order to meet the deadline and turn it in early if you can so we don’t run into any of these issues. 5. With permission from the former host, @Lémur, I have taken the reins and am now hosting this game with a fresh perspective! If you have never played before, this is how the game will go. Every round, I'll post a challenge. They are built upon a general theme for the contestant to follow. Based on these challenges, each contestant must create a trinity – three songs [unless otherwise stated] that work together to represent the challenge. These interpretations should be creative, but not over our heads. All entries will be posted in the thread. The judges will listen to and read your entries, give short comments and then rank your entries from best to worst. The three contestants with the highest rankings make up the Golden Trinity, and the three contestants with the lowest rankings make up the Flop Trinity. The Golden Trinity then decides which contestants in the Flop Trinity to eliminate permanently from the game. A contestant can go from being in the Golden Trinity one round to being in the Flop Trinity immediately afterwards; consistently staying out of the Flop Trinity is vital. Working to the end of the game, the final 5 players will participate in a massive finale to decide their final ranks, and the top 3 contestants overall will combine and join forces in ATRL's Holy Trinity. I would very much like to invite your community to take part in Season 4 of the Mafia Championship. In the below part, Slasher is referred to as Mafia, another popular name for the game. The Mafia Championship is an annual online tournament series that pits representatives from various forum Mafia (aka Werewolf) communities against one another as they compete to determine the Internet’s greatest forum Mafia player. Each participating community democratically elects one person to represent them and become their “Champion”. Season 1 ran in 2013-2014, while Season 2 and Season 3 ran in 2015 and 2016, respectively. As of Season 3, a total of 160 communities have been represented in the Mafia Championship, making it the largest cross-forum event on the Internet. I hope that all this sounds very exciting to you guys 1. Do you accept the invite? If your community wishes to participate, please confirm your participation to me before April 17 to ensure yourselves a spot. If you need more time than this to think about whether you wish to participate, let me know and I can extend the deadline. Important notes You may decide yourselves how you want to elect your representative, but we highly recommend some sort of democratic process (public nominations followed by a poll usually works out well). In addition to electing a representative, you should also name an alternate who will be asked to step in if the first choice needs to back out. Your representative should be prepared for having to read upwards of 500 posts per 24 hours during the early stages of the game. Additionally, there’s a requirement that each player must make at least 10 posts per Game Day. Only active players should apply/participate. I repeat: Your chosen player needs to be able to promise a good amount of activity on a daily basis. Relevant only to communities that participated last season: Season 3 Finalists are not eligible to play again this season. 2. Season 4 Format The tournament structure 135 communities will participate, each sending one representative. 9 Qualifying Games will be played consisting of 15 players each. I.e. every representative plays in one Qualifying Game. 1 player will advance directly to the Finale Game from each Qualifying Game. The players themselves vote post-game to determine who is deserving of advancement. I.e. 9 of the 15 finalists will be found this way. A Jury consisting of finalists from Season 3 will along with me discuss and vote to determine a group of 30 wildcard players who will play in 2 Semi Final Wildcard Games. From each of these two games, three players will directly advance to the Finale Game. The Finale Game is played. Each season we’re changing it up, and for this season it’s finally time to play without any power roles or abilities at all. Pure mafia. I.e. when day timer runs out, person with most votes will be lynched. However, day can also be ended early (starting Day 2) if there is ever a majority of votes on one person. ATRL's #1 tournament game has returned! After 9 successful seasons of ATRL's hit songwriting game, we return for the inaugural Diamond season - celebrating the 10th instalment, marking 4 years since it's debut. Each week the contestants receive a new theme or challenge in which they are allowed 4+ days to write a song for the round and submit their entry. Entries will be judged by the panel leading to eliminations each week - although, not as simply in the past. Switching it up and keeping things new and interesting is integral, and this season finds itself with one key change in the area of eliminations. Unlike past seasons, there will be no typical "comeback round" or "judges save" used to allow early eliminated players or chosen players a second chance to compete. Instead, for the first time, every contestant will have the chance to comeback. After a contestant's first elimination, they will be given a comeback chance, should they choose to take it. If you find yourself eliminated and you wish to use this second chance, first time eliminees are allowed to create and submit an entry for the next round as a bid to be reinstated. If their entry is strong enough, and they have impressed the judges enough to receive a score over a certain threshold, they will be brought back into the competition. Every writer experiences bad weeks - whether just from being busy, lack of inspiration, or whatever it may be. However this season, you can never really count anybody out of the competition. Once a final top 12 has been secured, comebacks will cease. This season also marks the first season to include mentors as well as a judging panel. The mentors are there to offer in-depth advice in the way that judges cannot for fairness. While you can ask anybody for general tips or help, in-depth criticism from the judges is saved until the end of the round, whereas the mentor system allows you to receive help with your song in real time, as you are still writing and adapting it for submission. Let's turn up the juice and see what shakes loose! ATRL's Switch is a reality Internet competition that is inspired (yet is really different) on RuPaul's Drag Race. It is called like that because there's always a change that keeps the game entertaining and makes the whole process a real competition. We're looking to the most integral drag queen in ATRL. It doesn't matter if you didn't do "drag" before or haven't watched Drag Race. If you're a fashion queen, a comedy queen, a fishy queen, or even a drama queen, THIS is the place you can achieve versatility while showcasing us your true talents. What do you NEED? A computer, an Internet connection, a graphic software (even Paint will work), some basic music knowledge, wittiness, taste, free-will and to send a private message to C/H/A/N/E/L telling her Evita Kirchner should have won ADR Season 3. What DON'T you need? Too much time (specially in the first rounds, it's up to you how much do you want to spend on this game as long as you show up when you really need. If you play your cards correctly, this game could be little demanding for you). An easy-to-quit soul. If you can't handle this, you could join us as a viewer but please don't do the casting! How does this work? Week after week, the contestants will face a "MoodSync" in which everyone will send a song and a message that suits with each category. The judges will rate them with 1 to 5 stars. The 2 lowest rated queens will face a "Lipsync for Your Life", a free space where they can send whatever their stronger talent is (a runway, a graphic, an essay, a comedy story, a comic, a video, whatever you want to show us). Each judge will choose a winner and the one who get less mentions will be eliminated. What's the twist? Prior to every MoonSync, the contestants will be challenged with the most diversified qualities that a drag queen should have. The winner/s will earn an advantage for that week (like immunity for that week's MoodSync). Those challenges are just complementary and non-mandatory, but it will be important for us to get to know your style of drag. But that's not all, remember the game it's called... The Switch!
