A week earlier, the song became the rapper’s second No. 1 on the chart, and his first on his own, after his and Jung Kook’s “3D” ruled in its debut week in October. Tate McRae’s “Greedy” holds at No. 2 on the Global 200, after two weeks at No. 1 beginning in November; Xavi’s “La Diabla” lifts 4-3 for a new high; Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” slips 3-4, following a week on top in November; and Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” becomes his first top five hit, jumping 8-5 with 34 million streams (up 16%) and 3,000 sold (up 11%) worldwide. Tate McRae’s “Greedy” rules the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a third week, with 39.1 million streams (up 1%) and 1,000 sold (down 9%) outside the U.S. Jan. 5-11. The track became McRae’s first leader on the list in early December. Teddy Swims scores his first Global 200 top 10, as “Lose Control” roars 22-9 with 28.3 million streams (up 22%) and 11,000 sold (up 23%) worldwide. The song concurrently becomes the Conyers, Ga., native’s first top 10 on the U.S.-based Billboard Hot 100. The Weeknd, Jennie and Lily-Rose Depp’s “One of the Girls” also hits the Global 200’s top 10, rising 15-10, led by 40.6 million streams (up 11%) worldwide. The song was featured in the fourth episode of HBO’s The Idol and was released after the episode premiered June 23, 2023. Depp starred in the series as rising pop star Jocelyn; The Weeknd (credited under his real name, Abel Tesfaye) played nightclub owner and talent scout Tedros; and Jennie portrayed Dyanne, a backup dancer and friend of Jocelyn. The series aired five episodes on HBO and Max in June-July and, although the show was canceled in August after one season, the song has continued to surge thanks in part to popularity on TikTok. The Weeknd adds his 11th Global 200 top 10; Jennie, her second; and Depp, her first. Notably, with Jennie as a member, BLACKPINK has posted four top 10s as a group, including the No. 1s “Pink Venom” and “Shut Down” in 2022. All four members of the South Korean group have hit the top 10 solo, totaling six top 10s: previously, Jennie reached No. 7 last October with “You & Me”; Lisa has also logged two solo top 10s, “Lalisa” and “Money,” which hit Nos. 2 and 10, respectively, in 2021; Rosé has earned one top 10, and the first solo leader among the four members, as “On the Ground” began at No. 1 in March 2021; and Jisoo has likewise landed one top 10, “Flower,” which reached No. 2 last April. The Weeknd, Jennie and Lily-Rose Depp’s “One of the Girls” bounds 12-7 on Global Excl. 8. Morgan Wallen’s ‘One Thing at a Time’ Returns to No. 1 on Billboard 200 for 17th Week The set debuted at No. 1 in March 2023 and has yet to leave the top 10 after 45 weeks. Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time climbs back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated Jan. 20), stepping 2-1 and collecting its 17th nonconsecutive and total week atop the list. It earned 61,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 11 (down 4%), according to Luminate. One Thing at a Time continues to have the most weeks at No. 1 among all albums since Adele’s 21 logged 24 nonconsecutive weeks atop the tally in 2011-12. One Thing at a Time debuted atop the chart dated March 18, 2023, and spent its first 12 weeks at No. 1 through early June. It then logged another three weeks in a row atop the list in late June and early July, and nabbed its 16th week in charge on the Oct. 14 chart. In the album’s 45 weeks on the list, it has never dipped below No. 6. One Thing at a Time finished 2023 as both the No. 1 year-end Billboard 200 album and Luminate’s year-end top album. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Jan. 20, 2024-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Jan. 17 (a day later than usual due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday in the U.S. on Jan. 15). Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me” adds a third week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The rapper ties his longest reign on the chart, among his three leaders, after “First Class” ruled for three weeks in April-May 2022. He has also topped the chart with “Industry Baby,” with Lil Nas X, for one week in October 2021. Plus, singer-songwriter Teddy Swims tallies his first Hot 100 top 10, as “Lose Control” ascends to No. 8, from No. 12. The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated Jan. 20, 2024) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, Jan. 17 (a day later than usual due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday Jan. 15). All of which is dandy, especially for those of us whose turntables get a lot of action. But why this chart now? Effective 12/29, data provider Luminate stopped weighting sales from record stores, a practice that had previously boosted numbers from any single reporting store to offset/account for transactions made by non-reporting stores in the same area. Instead, the company now only counts sales reported directly to it from 72 record stores out of over 1,500. With so many non-reporting stores across the continent, Luminate's Billboard chart-powering data is thus no longer an accurate reflection of the ever-growing marketplace, prompting indie record stores to strike out on their own.
  16. Internationally: Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me” ascends to the top of the Global 200 with 52 million streams (up 15%) and 11,000 sold (up 6%) worldwide in the Dec. 29-Jan. 4 tracking week. The rapper adds his second No. 1 on the chart, and his first on his own, after Jung Kook and Harlow’s “3D” reigned in its debut week in October. Tate McRae’s “Greedy” jumps 24-2 on the Global 200, after two weeks at No. 1 beginning in November, and Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” rebounds 32-3, following a week on top the same month. Tate McRae’s “Greedy” returns to No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart with 38.9 million streams (up 10%) and 1,000 sold outside the U.S. Dec. 29-Jan. 4. The track became McRae’s first leader on the list in early December. Xavi’s “La Diabla” flies 33-4 on the Global 200, led by 56.9 million streams (up 16%) worldwide. The song becomes the first top 10 on the chart for the Mexican-American singer-songwriter (born Joshua Xavier Gutiérrez). It concurrently tops the U.S.-based Hot Latin Songs chart for a second week. Xavi’s “La Diabla” darts 23-2 on Global Excl. U.S., led by 44.5 million streams (up 17%) outside the U.S., becoming his first top 10. Peso Pluma and Anitta’s “Bellakeo” blasts 43-7 on the Global 200, with 44.4 million streams (up 8%) worldwide. The song is the fifth and second top 10 for the Mexican and Brazilian stars, respectively. Plus, Peso Pluma and Anitta’s “Bellakeo” climbs 28-6 on Global Excl. U.S., with 35.7 million streams (up 10%) outside the U.S. As on the Global 200, they up their totals to five and two career top 10s, respectively. Rounding out the Global 200’s top five, Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” roars 40-5, after it dominated for four weeks beginning in September. Also new to the Global 200’s top 10, Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” hikes 50-8, with 29.5 million streams (up 13%) and 3,000 sold (up 12%) worldwide. The Strafford, Vt., native scores his first top 10 on the tally. Anitta still global Flowers back in the top 10 So much for being a "fluke".
  17. First female to top the YEC since 2016 (Sia), first international artist since 2019 (Lil Nas X)
  18. Taylor Swift’s ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ Leads Billboard 200 for Sixth Week The first post-Christmas tracking week unwraps a top 10 without a single holiday album. Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) nabs a sixth nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated Jan. 13, 2024), as the set earned nearly 64,000 equivalent album units (down 35%), according to Luminate. Swift has four albums in the top 10 on the new chart, as her chart-topping Midnights, Lover and Folklore are found at Nos. 5, 6 and 10, respectively. With the new chart’s data reflecting the tracking week of Dec. 29, 2023-Jan. 4, 2024 — the first week after the Dec. 25 Christmas holiday — seasonal albums vacate the top 10 (and entire 200-position chart). A week ago, five holiday efforts populated the top 10. Meanwhile, Republic Records claims the Billboard 200’s top six and a modern-era single-week record eight of the top 10. 13, 2024-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Tuesday (Jan. 9). 20. It since topped this: i think for a 2011 album track something like what happened to Bloody Mary is very rare, but, if it hits 300k that’s great. Born This Way album be hitting Gen Z.
