  1. What are some iconic threads from ATRL do you remember? 1. HDD - ARTPOP thread 2. Will Roar and Applause sound like Brave 3. Rihanna vs Ciara - Twitter feud thread 4. Not a thread but it was a comment in a thread "boiled as in turned into gas"?
  2. Have you ever had an insect you're afraid of in your room? How did you handle it ? Sometimes I have some spiders and I always lost the sight of it and then i'm scared af for like 3 days until I found them and killed them or they left on their own
  3. My favorite right now Tom Ford Noir Extreme Jo Malone Wild Bluebell I used Dior Sauvage before and I felt like it was too generic with no character, maybe it's too common since it's one if not the most popular man fragrance out there.

    Cats vs. Dogs: Better?

Which of these 2 human companions is better? Which of these is Human's Next Top Best Friend? Discuss, humans
  5. Anyone else starting to get annoyed by various religions using their "god" as a way to minimize the tragedy of Natural Disasters? I'm starting to notice that anytime a natural disaster happens the nuts don't event give condolences or a RIP. They immediately resort to their "god" punishing humanity or some bullshit like that. Or how it's the end of times. Like Natural Disasters are a 2000 Invention.
  6. I recently had to put down my little baby cat. She was our everything and now she is gone. It was so sudden. I just wanna know from more people going through the same, I think it will help
  7. When you wake up first thing, what type of person would you say you are in the morning? Are you a completely different person after you had your morning coffee?
  8. Hi ATRL, So I've taken a midday cocktail to celebrate and I'm a lil tipsy, but I have something to share with you all. I love this website in all its messiness, there is so much music I've discovered on here, so many kiis I've had reading things, so many interesting corners of music and pop culture I've discovered thanks to ATRL. And I find it to be a really fun, positive community that is also very LGBT friendly (I'm ghey, obviously). And while I've been posting I've also been carrying a secret... I am a user of this website, but now there is a chance I will one day get a thread made about my new music I've been a songwriter for the indie pop scene in Vancouver BC for a while (I moved here from Peru when I was 18), and recently through an insane series of events I ended up getting an offer for a record deal from a local label. This label is 604 Records, owned by Chad Kroeger of Nickelback. This is the label that put together "Call Me Maybe". There are literally Diamond plaques on the wall of the label with Carly's face on it, it's surreal. They're distributed by Warner. They have COIN. Like I was shook the first time they invited me to their building, there's all these multi-Platinum plaques for Nickelback, Carly, Marianas Trench (Canadian icons for those who know), Coleman Hell and others. People talking about meeting Justin Bieber and Harry Styles like it's the most casual thing in the world So that happened. I had to get an (expensive ass) lawyer. It was a whole thing. I was so nervous it would fall through multiple times, like the tension was unbearable; this was all in my mind though because they couldn't have been lovelier and more supportive, it's more me being such a pessimist and not believing this could be happening to me. Like, I was struggling and hustling in the music scene for years. Doing songwriting workshops, singing back up, getting absolutely nowhere. So it was insane and surreal that they loved my self-produced demos so much that they wanted to fund a whole album and give a full record deal without ever having released music of my own And tonight the first single from my first album has finally been released. We put out a dark take on a Christmas song that they asked me to do late last year, but now they've finally confirmed the whole album is a go and this is the first single It's the most exciting day of my life in a way. I feel like Mariah in her memoir when she gets signed and can finally breathe a sigh of relief because her musical life is about to begin. As a proud and openly gay man the one thing I really would like with my music career, if I'm going to be given a platform and support and all that being signed to a big indie label means, is that I want to connect with my LGBT community. I want to get played in the clubs. I would honestly die happy if I ever see a drag queen or drag king do one of my songs. And I'm going to be pushing for gay acceptance/rights in my videos and music HARD. I'm going to use that record label coin to make some subversive gay art. The next video will be a gay themed video for a bop that's coming. I'm going to truly try to be the gay pop star that I never had growing up. This community that is my home means the world to me. So I'd rather start nowhere else than here, the internet's queer capital of pop music to start spreading the word about my music. So without further ado I would like to share my first (proper) single with you: "Great Escape" - a synth-pop bop about yearning to get out no matter what. I hope you like it. And I hope you will come with me on this journey EDIT: thank you so much for all the lovely messages and support!! This is the very beginning for me and it's so cool to see a whole thread of people talking about the song. I have a ton more music coming soon including another single next month and an EP early summer, I typically announce stuff on my Instagram first so feel free to give me a follow if you'd like to be the first to know, I'll also try some way of announcing it on here
  9. To see leftists parrot anti-semetic talking points and deny the danger of radical islamists in real time is extremely eye-opening. I used to consider myself a progressive but I need to move to the center because I can't fall into this anti-US dogmatic doom spiral anymore. It's like everyone is waiting for a rapture (late-stage capitalism) that is never coming. It's so culty. It's no different from q-anon.
  10. well.. it happened again. not sure if y'all remember but last time, jazmine showed up @ kenzo's place and that whole fight ensued (i think there was a thread) and led to arrests and etc. a few hours ago, a cardi b fan (@blazedbardi) began following jazmine around and stalking their location and threw a raw burrito at them. this culminated in blazedbardi being arrested.

    Autism awareness/acceptance day

Hey everyone. With it being autism awareness/acceptance day I wanted to make sure my fellow ATRLERS on the spectrum had an opportunity to speak if they wanted to. There are a lot of men and women out there who have it that you don't realize do. I've lived with it for 30 years now. Being an adult on the spectrum is a challenge as you have a harder time finding people to relate to. Your brain is wired differently and you also worry about the stigma autism has with people. It's why I consider my voice important. I can be socially awkward but also outgoing. I can be incredibly difficult at times. But I'm a valid voice with autism and trying my best to just live my life. Happy Autism Acceptance Day and Autism Acceptance Month my fellow ATRLERS
  12. There was a reply on a Rosalia and Hunter Schafer dating thread that dating 5 months is equivalent to 2 years in the gay world. This brings up the topic—do you think gay relationships are shorter than straight relationships? If so, why is that? Is it because LGBT+ are more prone to cheating/infidelity? Shorter attention spans?
  13. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny failed to cover its costs at the box office according to financial statements released on Friday which show that Disney spent $134.2m more on making the movie than it is understood to have received in ticket sales. The film, features a digitally de-aged Ford. It came at a cost as the filings reveal that $79 million was spent on post-production work. Data from industry analyst Box Office Mojo shows that Dial of Destiny grossed $384 million, just 49% of the takings of its prequel, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Disney shot itself through the foot somewhat by launching the Disney+ streaming platform. Not only has it replaced the need to buy a DVD or Blu Ray, but Disney+ subscribers don't pay per movie. Instead they are billed monthly or annually and get access to a studio's entire library, along with any new content released during their subscription period. This means it isn't possible to attribute subscriber fees to specific productions, such as Dial of Destiny, and in turn that increases the need for pictures to succeed at the box office. The dismal performance of Dial of Destiny piles pressure on Disney's embattled chief executive Bob Iger who spearheaded the acquisition of Lucasfilm and the development of the movies which have yet to cover the cost of it. Combined with losses generated by Disney+ this has led to Disney's share price falling by around 40% since its peak of $201.91 in March 2021. https://www.forbes.com/sites/carolinereid/2024/03/31/indiana-jones-whips-up-130-million-loss-for-disney/
  14. So her UK dates were delayed and changed which is fine but allegedly she performed in Bristol last night and there's no videos, instagram updates or evidence or no fan videos of her on a damn stage performing. So if anyone has any clue if she is actually fulfilling the tour please tell me cause I am seeing her soon and would definitely like to know.
  15. Which is the most forgotten win?
  16. On rare chances I go to hangout with a friend (I have like 3 I rarely see and idk if I count as friends) they point out things I need to change. Tonight I went to my neighbor across the street (he was drunk) and he said I need to cut my hair, whiten my teeth, and change my personality. A few months ago I hung out with a Muslim guy who said I need to change everything about myself. If I need to change myself why do they still hit me up to hang out? I'm sober and fine with myself. Why tf do guys want to change me? Do they want me to just become a 23 year old blow up **** doll or is my personality ****?
  17. could you ever be the other woman, Jolene, mistress, etc.?
  18. Now obviously dying is awful but which is the worst part? Dying alone with NO ONE by your side or dying alone without family to hold your hand?
  19. Let's talk ATRL. I think up until 2012 or so we had a good balance of online life and real life, the internet felt more organic. But maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic. What are your thoughts?
