  1. Thoughts? “She wants her to slow down. Selena Gomez is worried her BFF Taylor Swift is “moving too fast” with Travis Kelce, a source tells Page Six exclusively.” “Selena thinks Taylor going to games and galavanting through New York immediately after just meeting Travis is something that is very unlike her,” the insider claims. “Historically, Taylor’s always been super private about everything, and now with this [relationship], she’s so open about it that it’s just very odd for Selena.” Prior to Kelce, Swift’s most recent long-term relationship was with Joe Alwyn, whom she dated for six years. The two were considered to be “strangely private” because of how rarely they were snapped together. We’re told Gomez, 31, has taken notice of how differently Swift, 33, has dealt with her new romance with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, and has found some aspects “alarming.” The “Only Murders in the Building” star is said to have been caught off guard when she saw Swift hanging out with Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce, in a public suite after having just met her. We hear the “Slow Down” singer also thought that the “Love Story” songstress holding hands with Travis in public in clear view of the paparazzi within less than a month of dating was also strange. The source claims Gomez has turned down invitations to a few Chiefs games because she didn’t want to be part of the “media frenzy.” The insider points out, though, that Gomez and Swift are “not in a fight” over the former’s opinions, as evidenced by their recent sushi outing in West Hollywood, Calif., earlier this month. “Selena just doesn’t want to be part of the media frenzy because it’s really chaotic,” the source explains. “It didn’t come from a malicious place, and it’s not that she doesn’t like them together. She’s just concerned about the way it’s being navigated.” The insider claims that Gomez is not the only friend who has concerns, noting that the Haim sisters “think this way as well.” “That’s why the people she normally has these amazing relationships with weren’t [at Swift’s girls’ night out with Blake Lively, Brittany Mahomes and Sophie Turner],” the source further alleges. However, the “Same Old Love” singer is not the only one in Traylor’s inner circle who is trying to look out for the lovebirds. Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, told NBC Sports last week that he is worried about his younger sibling’s new “level of stardom.” “On one hand, I’m happy for my brother that he seems to be in a relationship that he’s excited about [and] that he is genuine about,” the Philadelphia Eagles player told the outlet. “But there’s another end of it where it’s like, ‘Man, this is a lot.’” https://pagesix.com/2023/10/30/entertainment/selena-gomez-concerned-taylor-swift-travis-kelce-moving-too-fast/

  9. Class is finally in session for The Debut: Dream Academy. HYBE and Geffen Records revealed Monday evening (Aug. 28) the 20 talented contestants from around the world who will be competing for a spot in the first-ever HYBE x Geffen Records global girl group. The diverse group of young women were selected from more than 120,000 submissions after HYBE and Geffen announced the joint venture — HYBE x Geffen Global Girl Group Audition — in November 2021. The lengthy process of creating the group will be documented in an upcoming Nadia Hallgren-directed Netflix series, which will delve into the journey to global stardom while including insight into the extensive training and development program from HYBE and Geffen Records. The currently untitled series is set to premiere in 2024. In the meantime, the 20 contestants will participate in The Debut: Dream Academy audition program, which fans can follow along with on YouTube and Japan’s ABEMA beginning Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT. After 12 weeks, the final members of the group will be selected and the name of the group will be revealed at the live finale on Nov. 17. Fans will play a crucial role throughout the entire competition via fan voting on Weverse and TikTok. “I have wanted to form an international group based on K-pop methodology for a while,” HYBE Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk shared at a press event in Los Angeles on Monday night. “To do this, I believed we needed a capable partner. When I met [Interscope Geffen A&M Records CEO] John [Janick], from the first moment, we both felt instantly that we had a connection, musically and creatively. I am very proud of the rich history we have made and the tremendous talent we have found. I am proud of the opportunities we have created within the K-pop universe.” For his part, Janick added: “Since we began our partnership two years ago, Bang and I have often spoken about our shared beliefs in artist development, music and creativity. To develop a global group with Bang, with the best of K-pop methodology, and our Geffen team, is truly special and will bring to life a first-of-its kind experience in music. Each candidate is incredibly talented, dedicated, and driven, making this an exciting moment for music fans around the world.” https://www.billboard.com/lists/hybe-geffen-dream-academy-girl-group-contest-finalists/adela/

  14. Jada Pinkett Smith's headline-making memoir is not selling as many copies as might be expected, despite some eyebrow-raising admissions in major interviews ahead of its launch. Pinkett Smith released her autobiography, Worthy, on October 17 but the book is making little impact on multiple bestseller lists. Newsweek has contacted Pinkett Smith's representatives via email for comment. On Amazon Books, the world's most popular book selling site, according to Statista, Worthy sits at number 81 on its bestseller list and at the time of writing had gained only 114 ratings and 64 reviews. It failed to make the top 100 on the Kindle e-reader chart, where it had only sold 2,700 copies by the end of last week. Over on Barnes & Noble and the Publishers Weekly lists, Worthy had not cracked the top 100 either. Pinkett Smith's memoir has been outsold by a number of other celebrities' titles, including Arnold Schwarzenegger's self-help book, Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life, and Britney Spears' hotly anticipated The Woman In Me. Full House star John Stamos' memoir has also outsold Worthy to rank at number 36 on Barnes & Noble's weekly best seller list. x
