  6. “The Color Purple,” a vibrant adaptation of the book-turned-beloved-movie-turned-hit-Broadway-musical, dominated at the box office on Christmas Day. The film has outperformed expectations with $18 million from 3,152 North American theaters. It’s the largest Christmas Day opening for a film since 2009, and the second-biggest Christmas Day opening of all time. Those ticket sales were enough to lead the way on Monday ahead of two other newcomers, Neon’s racing drama “Ferrari” and director George Clooney’s inspirational sports story “The Boys in the Boat.” Warner Bros. impressively held the top three spots on domestic charts as “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and “Wonka” swam to second and third place, respectively. https://variety.com/2023/film/box-office/box-office-color-purple-christmas-day-aquaman-2-1235850527/amp/

  13. Men like big butts and they cannot lie. Butt-boosting workouts will be the hottest fitness trend for men in 2024, fitness and fashion experts predict. Building a bigger booty, whether it be naturally or surgically, has typically been a goal for women, but men are increasingly interested in focusing on their glutes. The experts have already noted a rise in men’s interest in their rear ends — and the trend is only expected to grow stronger in 2024. “I’ve definitely noticed a rise in the number of men focusing on glute work in the clubs recently,” Eric Cobb, Group Fitness Manager at Equinox’s E 63rd location, told The Post. “On the workout floor, you used to see men focusing mainly on chest, biceps and abs. Now, squat racks and other glute-focused equipment are seeing a lot more use by them,” Cobb said. He also shared that “classes like Pilates and yoga that traditionally focus on glute work have been increasingly popular.” Equinox even added their own “Best Butt Ever” workout class which Cobb said has been increasingly more popular with men, especially over the last 16 months. “More guys are looking to build the strength and size of their glutes now,” certified strength and conditioning specialist Gareth Sapstead also confirmed to Men’s Health. It’s not just their workouts that are changing, either: men are upgrading their closets to accentuate the gain in their glutes. Last year, Rhone, a popular men’s fitness clothing brand, saw sales of their slim Commuter pants jump 55%, and sales of the skinny version increase 33%. “Our Commuter pants take design cues from our athletic shorts that flatter, not flatten, the glutes, and we use four-way-stretch materials with no bunching,” Ben Checketts, cofounder and creative director of Rhone, told Men’s Health. “No diaper butt. “Guys now expect their work pants to fit and move the same way their gym clothes do.” “Men need to understand working out their glutes will aid their masculine posture. And if you are into sports, developed glutes will improve your functionality, making you stronger, run faster, jump high, improve acceleration, dynamics, and overall motion agility,” Martin Obonyo, manager of the BornFit Gym in Nairobi, told Business Daily Africa. https://nypost.com/2023/12/28/lifestyle/big-butts-for-men-the-surprising-sexy-fitness-trend-for-2024-experts/
