  1. Liz Truss is a massive Swiftie - with the new Prime Minister quoting the singer in the House of Commons and on Instagram as well as walking out to her songs at the Tory leadership hustings Back in 2020, Ms Truss slipped some of Taylor's words into a debate in Parliament during International Women's Day. The politician quoted the superstar's song The Man while discussing barriers for women. "It is your talent ideas and character that matter, not anything else. In the words of the brilliant Taylor Swift in her new song, women aren't left 'running as fast as they can, wondering if they'd get there quicker if they were a man'." "I don't like liz Truss but at least she's quoted Taylor Swift The Man in parliament before," tweeted one person on Tuesday, while another added: "@trussliz can we please pepper in more @taylorswift13 lyrics throughout your addresses to the nation? Please and thank you." Ms Truss frequently uses her lyrics in her Instagram captions. Quoting Taylor's song Look What You Made Me Do, she wrote: "I'm sorry, Liz Truss can't come to the phone right now..... cause she's #ringing2win #hangingonthetelephone #ringingendorsement #partylines" The new PM has proved she really is Taylor's biggest supporter by getting a selfie with her at the BAFTAs after party back in 2019. Many Swifties went into meltdown and voiced their fury that Ms Truss managed to speak to the iconic singer. "Can't believe Liz Truss has met Taylor Swift and i haven't … criminal behaviour actually," tweeted one annoyed fan. And Taylor has been a big part of Ms Truss' rise to the top political job in the country, as she walked out to the song Change during the final Tory leadership hustings. Ms Truss had a massive smile on her face as she strutted out to Swift's hit track - and she left the stage to another of her songs, Long Live. Taylor is yet to publicly congratulate Ms Truss on her new role. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/liz-truss-taylor-swift-superfan-27928232 ----- We're doomed.

    Iran Comes for Britney!

Iran’s state sponsored media, the Islamic Republic News Agency, has turned their focus from state propaganda to U.S. icon Britney Spears. After Spears tweeted her support for the Iranian citizens currently protesting the country’s morality police, the IRNA shot back on Twitter by mentioning Spears’ years-long conservatorship. “American singer Britney Spears was placed under her father’s conservatorship in 2008 due to her mental health problems,” the organization tweeted. “That gave Britney’s father control over her finances and even her personal life aspects such as pregnancy, remarriage and visits to her teenage sons.” The IRNA’s tweet, and media response, is part of an ongoing (and failing) strategy to drown out widespread support for Iran’s nationwide protests.

    Draco Malfoy Discusses Rehab

After growing up in the spotlight, the Harry Potter alum, 35, admitted in the book — released on Oct. 18 — that throughout his mid-to-late 20s, he started "drinking to escape" and spending a lot of time at dive bars "craving normality" while living in Los Angeles. "I went from being not particularly interested to regularly having a few pints a day before the sun had even gone down, and a shot of whiskey to go with each of them," he wrote. "The alcohol, though, wasn't the problem. It was the symptom. The problem was deeper," Felton said, later learning that his mental health was struggling. Felton revealed that the situation became so bad that his manager, then-girlfriend, and agents eventually staged an intervention, demanding he get help as they were concerned about his drinking and behavior. He recalled a message from his lawyer that "hit the hardest" and made him more willing to get help. "My lawyer, whom I'd barely ever met face to face, spoke with quiet honesty," Felton wrote. "'Tom,' he said, 'I don't know you very well, but you seem like a nice guy. All I want to tell you is that this is the seventeenth intervention I've been to in my career. Eleven of them are now dead. Don't be the twelfth.'" Following his intervention, Felton went to a rehab facility in Malibu, which he fled less than 24 hours after checking in. He later went to a second rehab facility but revealed that he got kicked out after being found in a girl's room.
