celeb news Madonna's "Desperately Seeking Susan" added to National Film Registry
Wildcat posted a topic in Celebria
Susan Seidelman's cult classic "Desperately Seeking Susan" (1985), starring Rosanna Arquette and Madonna in her first major screen role, is one of the 25 influential films selected for preservation this year in the Library of Congress's National Film Registry, as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". The Queen Of Pop now has an album and two classic movies preserved for posterity in the U.S recording / film registry (A League of Their Own was inducted in 2012). https://www.phillyvoice.com/national-film-registry-movies-seidelman-desperately-seeking-susan/ -
celeb news Jennifer Aniston doesn’t need intimacy coordinators on set; Gets dragged
nostalgia posted a topic in Celebria
Viewers of “The Morning Show” went wild in October when an episode of the AppleTV+ series, now in its third season, featured a steamy scene with Jennifer Aniston, 54, and Jon Hamm, 52. In a new interview with Variety, Aniston opened up about the steamy moment with the “Mad Men” star. “They asked us if we wanted an intimacy coordinator. I’m from the olden days, so I was like, ‘What does that mean?'” she said. “They said, ‘Where someone asks you if you’re OK,’ and I’m like, ‘Please, this is awkward enough!’ We’re seasoned — we can figure this one out.” Intimacy coordinators are becoming more commonplace in Hollywood. But, some actors from “the olden days,” as Aniston called herself, aren’t quite onboard with it, such as Aniston and “Game of Thrones” star Sean Bean, who also commented that it “ruins” the “natural” behavior of the moment. https://nypost.com/2023/12/11/entertainment/jennifer-aniston-refused-to-use-intimacy-coordinator-for-awkward-jon-hamm-sex-scene/amp/ -

celeb news Megyn Kelly has meltdown over Taylor Swift attending charity comedy show for Gaza
Espresso posted a topic in Celebria
Megyn Kelly had an absolute meltdown over news that superstar Taylor Swift attended a comedy show for which ticket sales were donated to a group providing humanitarian aid to Gaza. Swift and friends attended a show by actor and stand-up comic Ramy Youssef, who posted to Instagram that the proceeds for his tour would be donated to American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA) — an NGO providing relief to Gaza as it faces a bombing campaign and invasion from Israel. ANERA, which says it has “no political or religious affiliation,” is a major NGO that receives millions from the United States government. Yet Kelly cast the group as nefarious during a rant on Tuesday’s episode of The Megyn Kelly Show. Kelly cited criticism of ANERA from NGO Monitor, a controversial pro-Israel organization, which accused the NGO of bias back in 2005. NGO Monitor reported at the time that “most of ANERA’s focus is on development assistance and emergency relief, and the quality of these programs is considered to be very high. However, as the following report demonstrates, this NGO also engages in biased anti-Israeli political activities.” Kelly invoked that report in a furious rant demanding a boycott of Swift. “A group that NGO Monitor has described as highly political, presenting a highly bias view of the Israel-Palestine war, ignoring any Palestinian responsibility for hardship, and contributing to the demonization of Israel,” Kelly said. “That is the group Taylor Swift thought it might be fun to raise money for, attend a fundraiser for — and she owes Israeli and Jewish Americans an apology! And I hope they boycott her events until she issues it! Because attending this thing was wrong. It was wrong. Do some Googling. See what they do in Gaza to gays. See about women’s rights in Gaza, Taylor.” Kelly then made the “zip-it” sign when adding, “Otherwise, do this when it comes to talking about these issues again. You clearly know nothing.” […] -

celeb news J.Lo's 'The Mother': third biggest movie of 2023
insomniac replied to Mokichi's topic in Celebria
One example: Netflix reported 249.9 million hours viewed for “The Mother,” the action-hero movie starring Jennifer Lopez as an assassin who emerges from hiding to protect her daughter that hit the streamer May 12. LightShed Partners analysts estimated about 127 million households (and more than 250 million people) watched “The Mother” — in just the first six weeks of its release. That would make it the biggest movie of 2023 after Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and Universal Pictures’ “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” in terms of eyeballs. “In a streaming world, engagement is the north star and direct-to-Netflix feature films are driving an absurd level of engagement,” the LightShed analysts Rich Greenfield, Brandon Ross and Mark Kelley wrote in a blog post. It’s not possible to do an apples-to-apples comparison of streaming viewers with box-office revenue generated by theatrical releases, as the LightShed team noted. That is, we don’t know how many theatergoers would have paid to see “The Mother” in a cinema. But for Netflix, the equation is different. “With strong engagement relative to a film’s cost that improves the price/value relationship of a Netflix subscription, mitigates churn, and enables future price increases, maybe direct-to-consumer films are blockbusters, just different forms of blockbusters,” the LightShed analysts concluded. After flatly refusing to use her platform to raise awareness around the genocide against the Palestinians and repeatedly breaking the social media break that was the reason behind her "silence," Selena Gomez has once again put her entire foot into her mouth. Is the retired pop star and full time Instagram Influencer having another one of her debilitating and behavior altering anxiety attacks? celeb news Tate McRae shouts out Normani, Tinashe and Victoria Monét
kyliefever2002 posted a topic in Celebria
A lot of people here in Brasil started saying that you are saving pop music due to greedy's repercussion, not only on social media but also on the charts. What do you think about that? Do you feel pressured? I mean, it's an honor that people are saying that. I think that there's obvisouly a lot of people making pop music great at the moment like Normani, Tinashe and Victoria Monét. So, I think we shouldn't discredit, because there's a lot being made at the moment. https://portalpopline.com.br/tate-mcrae-lanca-album-think-later-reflete-salvar-pop-com-sua-musica/ -

celeb news Shannen Doherty Addresses Alyssa Drama In Podcast
MasterXPosed posted a topic in Celebria
https://tvline.com/news/charmed-shannen-doherty-alyssa-milano-feud-explained-1235097386/ “It was happening [again] of the competitiveness kicking in,” Doherty says. “I’m not saying with [Holly], I’m saying with Alyssa and myself. There was a lack of female support. I’ve had the same publicist for I don’t even know how long, Leslie Sloane, and she could come on the podcast and be like, ‘Shannen never cared about somebody else getting a cover.’ It just wasn’t in my wheelhouse.” Doherty understands that Milano addressed their issues in her 2021 book Sorry Not Sorry, but she adds, “Obviously I’m never going to read her book, because it’s [titled] Sorry Not Sorry, so right there it tells me you’re not friggin’ sorry. Why even mention something in that case?” Doherty says that working on Charmed‘s second season (1999–2000) was especially difficult, as that competitive energy began to affect her on a personal level. Combs was dealing with a serious health situation, which she detailed in an episode the House of Halliwell podcast, and Doherty alleges that Milano and her mother prevented Doherty from visiting Combs after her surgery. Combs agrees that Charmed‘s second season was difficult for everyone because “there was a lot going on behind the scenes.” She didn’t have a big family, so “when a family swooped in and basically tried to adopt me, it was very seductive for me. And I wanted everybody to get along. I wanted the show to be successful. There were no angels. There were no demons. We all had bad days. We all had good days. We all could have behaved better at certain points. But there was a lack of awareness of a bigger, broader picture of just being grateful to have a job, and to be doing something that we liked, and to be in a position of power to do something that we liked. It was not something that happens easily or normally or routinely.” Listen to Shannen's podcast here Holly will also appear In part two, and Shannen said she will talk more about the drama -

Is she coming back to Vegas or just having a fun weekend watching her peers in Vegas? Cute how Usher and Adele were praising her during their shows too! Usher: “I love you more. You been on my wall since In Living Color. Yesss. Superstar man. Oh my god. We got New York in the house tonight.” Adele: “Love you J.Lo!” during Rolling In The Deep and bowing and saluting while walking past her. -
