Hello everyone, welcome to witness1.3's 2021 year-end countdown. Although I am not very active on ATRL, I love making my own music charts every week. I love sharing them at the end of the year and looking at everyone's too! I will be listing my Top 100 singles, Top 50 albums, and Top 50 artists of 2021. Here is how they are calculated and their respective countdowns: Lastly, here is the tentative schedule I plan to release the charts. I don't really have time to do gradual reveals, so I'm just gonna post my list outright, sorry y'all xx My Top 20 Favourite Songs of the Year 20. JonoJono - Wavy 19. Mitski - The Only Heartbreaker 18. Leslie Odom Jr - Speak Now 17. Arooj Aftab - Diya Hai 16. Zemfira - Жди меня 15. Rauw Alejandro - Todo De Ti 14. CHVRCHES - How Not To Drown 13. Cardi B - UP 12. Kacey Musgraves - Simple Times 11. Wizkid - Essence 10. Snoh Aalegra - Lost You Serving a straight up R&B song from the 90s, but only at about 1/3 of the length lol 9. Adele - To Be Loved A classic Adele. Super emotional and eardrum piercing. 8. The War on Drugs - I Don't Wanna Wait A great classic rock song. Not much else to add here 7. Gallant - Relapse Such a beautiful and gentle song. And that outro has to be the best outro of the year. 6. Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever Whew, Billie murdered with this one. Starts slowly, gently picking up in tempo, and leading to that explosive second part! 5. H.E.R. - Damage Apparently when she's not too busy being an industry plant she makes good music too. 4. SZA - Good Days Such a nostalgic sounding song. So much reserved emotion in her voice. And the instrumental is simply brilliant 3. Lana Del Rey - Chemtrails Over The Country Club Lana released a plethora of outstanding tracks this year (more than anyone else by far!), but this particular one stood out the most to me. It was the soundtrack to my summer. So breezy, gentle and cinematic. And the lyrics.. no one is doing it like her at the moment. 2. Baby Keem & Kendrick Lamar - Family Ties I'm in love with this guy's flow and tone. In the sea of faceless mumble & autotune rappers he really stands out. His part is captivating and then Kendrick drops in like an alien lord to remind us who's the King. Their chemistry is amazing and the song is fire. 1. Taylor Swift - Tis The Damn Season This is such a perfect winter song. There's a chill in every chord. The delivery is so detached and hopeless. Tis the damn season proclaims Taylor, but it doesn't even smell like Christmas. Oh..and the melodies.. the melodies... and that bridge!! Such a beautiful and instantly nostalgic song. Another career highlight that never got the chance to shine

Hello everyone! As you can tell from the banner, I literally have zero time for my year end list this time around lol. At the same time I didn't want to miss it completely and I was free this afternoon so I decided to just drop my year lists on the first post let's be honest, 2021 wasn't a great year in music, especially after 2020 which was one of my personal favorites ever; however we still got some nice tunes to celebrate. Another consequence about me not having time (fuck uni, work and becoming an adult) is that this year I also listened less music compared to previous ones, so my list eneded up being the most generic it has ever been, but I hope you can find some new songs to enjoy (I will leave a comment for the less popular tracks). The list is mainly based on # of plays, but I had to make some adjustments based on longevity/overplaying. Obviously I will try to make a visit to your year end coutndowns during the next days! Hello all, I've not done one of these before, so I thought I'd give it a go! I'll be doing my favourite 50 songs of the year and the 10 biggest disappointments of the year I was almost tempted to make my banner the UK Official Charts logo as that's the kind of vibe my list will be serving Expect a generous helping of UK pop with light sprinklings of R&B here and there. I'll try to write something for each song too as I have a lot of thoughts to share.

By far the biggest year of discoveries for myself. Though, I was probably a bit too open with listening to music. Lots of duds, but there were some very nice finds too. Here we are. I think I'll only have the capacity to go through the Top 100 Songs of 2021. Zero albums have had a hold on me but I generally don't have beef with this years in music. Those who follow, know that my taste changes all the time so you just won't know what will make the cut but I will say the indie rock girls, rap girls and R&B artists really carried this year. This may be my final countdown as I've been doing this for 12 years and getting burned out from this, so I may even push through to do a Best of the Best of countdown of my favorites from the last 11 years. I'm sure my taste and feelings on many songs along with new discoveries after my CDs would shift things up.
