I really considered not doing this, but I had so much time to listen to music this year, and most of that time was spent trying to look for new stuff. Another year of hesitation and last-minute planning, but here I am. Here’s my list from last year: 2019 And for this year, I decided to include some releases from the end of last year that I didn’t get to include because of their late release dates. I find it difficult to give more accurate opinions with stuff I didn’t have a lot of time to listen to. So there’ll be some stuff from November 1, 2019 – October 29, 2020.

How's it going you guys? Y'all already know how this goes. I'll be posting the songs and albums that were among my favorites for this year. This year I managed to listen to even less music than last year so I won't have much to offer (the pains of being busy and growing up ). But I'm glad that what I did listen to, I liked a lot! I'm thinking ~25 albums and around ~30 songs overall.

Hey! I was really quiet here this year but I still decided to do a Best Of 2020, because besides this year being absolutely terrible we got some amazing releases. You can expect a lot of K-pop, indie pop and some underrated musicians from all around the world. I selected songs from December 1, 2019 to November 30, 2020. Well I honestly had nothing prepared because ATRL thought it was a good idea to start this before the month of November even ended so... yeah. Idk I always start my year end list here talking about how awful the year was but I don't think any year has come as close to being as awful as this year was cause... even from before Miss CoCo V had her global crossover I was really going through it, and she just made things exponentially worse. Well, whatever. It is what it is. I will be starting this whole thing on December 4th since it'll give me time to come through with lists, have stuff to say and all of that. I'm in the middle of finals so it's gonna be tough but thankfully I'm going to give the barest of bare minimums. Good luck y'all!

Well, it wouldn't be a complete Best Of section without some of my contribution despite being fallen from grace. Last year I half-assed a list due to priority issues and this year doesn't seem that different tbh lmao. JGib's Best of 2020 | Starts 12.05.2020: Music list cutoff eligibility date for Top 360 of 2020: 12.01.2020. Welcome to the 2020 edition of the JGib's Best of lists here on ATRL. This year has brought good music for us, including releases from Taylor Swift, Foo Fighters, AC/DC, Billie Eilish, Luke Combs, Kelsea Ballerini, Machine Gun Kelly, and more. This year was when TikTok exploded. This year has brought a lot of victories and challenges along the way, including the COVID-19 pandemic that has raged around the world that caused events to be postponed; masks became a part of normal life; impacted sports leagues that led to games and seasons postponed/abandoned and rules modified; stores, churches, schools, and restaurants subjected to capacity restrictions and/or closures; and a massive death toll and case counts across the world. However, there is hefty backlash over the implementation of mitigation measures and mask mandates, and anti-vaccination and other conspiracies related to the pandemic have led to the sprawling of the QAnon delusion cult. There may be some hope on the horizon to come for late this year and into the next year or two, as vaccines for the virus are set to be distributed. This year brought the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement and the fight for racial justice into a wider arena, especially after the vigilante killing of Ahmaud Arbery and the police killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, among others. The movement led to some changes, including the widespread recognition of Juneteenth, the proposed abolishment of Confederate traitors' names from US Military bases, widespread protests in the sporting arena (esp. in the NBA, WNBA, NFL, and soccer leagues, and even MLB and NHL took part) and the elimination of most anything glorifying anti-Black oppression, including but not limited to: the changing of 2 country bands names (Lady Antebellum to Lady A and Dixie Chicks to The Chicks), the removal of the Confederate (Traitor) Flag emblem from the Mississippi state flag, HBO Max's temporary removal of Gone With The Wind in order to put a historical notice before the film got reinstated on the platform, the elimination and name change of problematically racist brands and mascots such as Aunt Jemima on the basis of the image and name were based on minstrel show tropes, the name change of the Washington NFL Team name's racist name (R**skins) and the elimination of its mascot to provisionally the Washington Football Team and a mascot to be determined, and the name change of the Cleveland MLB Team (soon to be formerly Indians) that is set to take effect as soon as 2022. This year also brought the rise of the QAnon delusion cult and its warped ideas into the mainstream conscience, especially the "#SaveOurChildren"/"#SaveTheChildren" movement, COVID conspiracies (namely fabricated attacks against Bill Gates, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and 5G, COVID case/death count trutherism, anti-mask agitprop, anti-vaccine extremism, and the Plandemic film), falsely labeling Joe Biden, Chrissy Teigen, Tom Hanks, and other Democrats and anti-Trumpers as "pedophiles", and baseless attacks on Cuties (Mignones) that falsely paint the film as "glorifying the sexualization of children", when in fact the plot condemned the sexualization of children when it got distributed by Netflix worldwide. QAnon started in 2017, but this year was when the delusion really took off. This year also brought some victories, as Joe Biden (D) was elected the 46th President of the United States by defeating impeached incumbent "President" Donald Trump (R). We also got to witness the first ever woman and Asian (and South Asian) elected Vice President in Kamala Harris (D), in the process being the first Black woman to be on a winning ticket. The first Black person to become our President was Barack Obama (D) back in 2008, and his VP (Biden) is set to become President on January 20th, 2021. However, there were losses as well electorally, as the Democrats lost House seats (some of which they were favored to hold/gain) but not enough to lose the majority and several Senate seats that were expected to be competitive or even flip Blue (namely Maine, North Carolina, and Iowa) stayed Republican. The Democrats did, however, flip two seats in the Senate (Arizona and Colorado). The two Georgia seats are in a runoff, and the Democrats have to win both if they have any chance to getting to a 50+Harris majority. If Dems win only one or neither, the GOP retains control of the Senate. The Democrats did end up taking the Senate, as they won both the Georgia runoffs, making it a trifecta.
