Superstars like Jesy Nelson and Ariana have been accused of blackfishing because of their spray tans. Most people can get pretty dark naturally just being out in the sun. I'd understand the accusations if they went a color they couldn't achieve naturally, but rarely is that the case.

discussion African countries look to China for future growth and not America
SmittenCake posted a topic in Civics
"When US leaders visit Africa, they talk about China. But when Chinese officials visit Africa, they talk about trade and development" In these types of projects, future generations are given hope and given pathways to living a better life. African leaders are being lectured about China's potential dangers by the USA instead of making similar infrastructure investments in China. The USA assumes African leaders don't know what is best for their own nations, which makes this strategy disrespectful to them. Young Africans see China as most influential country: NOT America * The African Youth Survey 2022, which was conducted in 15 African countries, showed that 76 percent of young people view China's influence as positive while 77 percent see China as the foreign country with most influence on their continent. * Since the founding of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in 2000, Chinese companies have built or upgraded more than 10,000 km of railways and nearly 100,000 km of highways across Africa, and created a total of over 4.5 million jobs, according to official data released last November. * In addition to studying in China, some young Africans are seizing business opportunities offered by China's digital trade, which has been booming in recent years. http://english.news.cn/20220629/b573cd2c9df242488eec77a7d344efcf/c.html#:~:text=The survey%2C which was conducted, most influence on their continent. “The US needs to call a timeout and treat Africans with respect,” she told host Steve Clemons, adding that the US-Africa Leaders Summit hosted by the White House this week “will fail unless Americans see Africans as equals”. https://variety.com/2023/global/news/doctor-who-jinkx-monsoon-drag-race-1235568659/ Jinkx Monsoon, winner of the fifth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and the seventh season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars,” has been added to the cast of the BBC’s long-running and immensely popular “Doctor Who” series. Monsoon is set to be playing a major role in the series. “In a galaxy of comets and supernovas, here comes the biggest star of all. Jinkx Monsoon is on a collision course with the TARDIS, and ‘Doctor Who’ will never be the same again,” showrunner Russell T Davies said. “I’m honored, thrilled, and utterly excited to join ‘Doctor Who!’ Russell T Davies is a visionary and a brilliant writer — I can’t wait to get into the weeds with him and the crew! I hope there’s room in the TARDIS for my luggage,” Monsoon said. The drag queen recently completed a successful run on Broadway as Matron “Mama” Morton in “Chicago” and also appears in the WOW Presents Plus original, “Sketchy Queens.” “Doctor Who” returns in November 2023 with three special episodes with David Tennant as the 14th Doctor to coincide with the 60th anniversary. Tennant and Catherine Tate are reprising their roles for the show’s 60th anniversary, and the BBC has confirmed that they will appear in three special episodes, set to air in November this year. The next Doctor, played by “Sex Education” star Ncuti Gatwa, will take control of the TARDIS after Tennant, with his first episode airing over the festive period. “Doctor Who” began in 1963 and follows the adventures of a Time Lord known as The Doctor, an extraterrestrial being with a human appearance. The Doctor travels the universe in a time-traveling spaceship called the TARDIS.

Bipartisan legislation called The Defending Against Imitations and Replacements of Yogurt, Milk, and Cheese to Promote Regular Intake of Dairy Everyday Act aka DAIRY PRIDE ACT of 2023 takes aim at plant-based alternatives to dairy milk, claiming it is unjust for these products to be labeled milk, and that these options deceive consumers. Are you duped by almond milk, coconut milk, rice milk, oat milk, or other alternatives? Do you think these are the same as dairy milks?

There are countless times in my life where a new guy I met (most of the time they are handsome) from work or acquaintances will invite me for a dinner or hang out then I thought it’s a date but turned out they are straight and they just genuinely enjoy my company. Am I the only one who is experiencing this phenomena? The hard thing is sometimes you hang out in a pub and it involves alcohol and I need to control myself because I gotta respect boundaries. Do you hang out with straight guys ATRL?

discussion Are you still friends with anyone from elementary, middle or highschool?
Distantconstellation posted a topic in The Lounge
I bumped into a girl I was friend with in middle school 7th, 8th grade, while filling my gas at Costco. I got her number and we caught up, but I could read the room and tell she didn't wanna hang out or catch up, from what she told me she only keeps in touch with like 2 people from middle school, so I guess in a sense everyone moved on. Still makes me sad though, we were all friends at one point. I rather not think about it cause it makes me get all emo, we all moved on in life and I know that's suppose to happen but it's still sad. In my heart they will always be my friends and ill always remember those days :/ -
She was fantastic in Kung Fu Panda. Easily the best Lara Croft as well. Should have had more screen time in The Eternals, her character was so interesting. What is your favorite movie by Angelina Jolie?
