So I met this boy on 'certain app' and we had a couple of first "encounters" back in April and we've been hanging out since then, but after that it stopped, not because we stopped talking or anything, we talked pretty often during the week and we had similar interests, but everytime I tried to make an advance like kissing him or trying to have sex he would very awkwardly stop it (we haven't had sex since then) Then I thought well maybe he just wants to be friends, but then suddenly in August he started to be more involved and even booked for us to get a massage at the same time before he had to go visit his family for a month. So at that date after the massage the girls of the establishment left us alone in the room to dress up and relax, the atmosphere was very sensual needless to say and while I was cleaning up myself from the oil they used he came from behind grabbed my hips and tongued kiss me, hugged me and kissed my shoulder. Neither of us said a word and he was very clearly hard as so was I. So he leaves for a month and we keep in touch, however we never talked about what happened. When he comes back I was very excited to see him again, but the vibe became weird and he doesn't make any advances or reacts to mine. So here we are and I'm really torn and confused because I don't know what to do or say? Should I just be direct and ask him if he likes me and wants something more than friends?

Hi everyone, I hope y'all are having a pleasant day thus far. I'm currently enrolled in a module about a history of science fiction media. Next Friday I have to submit an assignment which is supposed to an analysis of any primary source in the realm of science fiction. The only criteria it has to meet is that scientific ideas should inform considerable amounts of the story, though it can be a work of any genre just with a scientific background. I am trying to think of a film or a book (preferably the former) on which I am going to write this analysis, but I can't think of any that I feels like represents me. By 'representing me' I mean something the average ATRL gay would like to write about, so something that is preferably female-led and could even veer off into a campy direction. I initially wanted to write my report about the influence of futurism (an unquestionable part of the science fiction genre) on pop music videos from the early 2000s (think the Fever era music videos by Kylie or Britney's OIDIA), but with the requirement limiting to me films and literature only I feel a little constrained. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Im posting here for advice because I know my friends (who have been there for me to lean on so much) are tired of hearing about it lol Very, very long story short-ish, I have limited experience with actually talking to/dating guys outside of hookups from Grindr, and was used to getting ghosted after a hookup. Beyond that though, there's only been one other guy I've ever been emotionally invested in, and that was barely. I honestly thought I was aromantic or something and incapable of loving Well, me and this guy match, we start texting/FaceTiming 24/7, and by the fourth day I go to his apartment for the first time. We spent the next 2 months talking 24/7 and basically living together, having hours-long talks about every possible subject, me breaking down all my walls. He brought me soup when I was sick, picked me up when I was out with friends at the clubs, would comment on my Insta posts. I know those are all bare minimum things, but I never got even half of that before from anyone I was interested in. He was moving for a summer job and I found his apartment for him and he asked me to come live with him in it (my summer internship was WFH and my parents and lots of friends live in the city he was moving to so it was perfect) All the sudden he got distant, after a lot of prodding he revealed that his ex of a year and him broke up just a month before meeting me because his ex had cheated, but the ex reached out and apologized, and he had stronger feelings for his ex. He was crying and said that I treat him better and he has feeling for me but that he couldn't shake the feelings and history with his ex. We talked for another week, then he sent the final text saying hes extremely sorry but they're gonna work it out This was 6 months ago and I just can't move on. Before I even met him, he was my exact type on paper. But way beyond that, the fact that we got along so well, saw the world the same way, he treated me so well, and I felt completely comfortable around him in a way I never have with anyone. I wish he did something awful like cheating or even just being rude to me, but his only flaw was not telling me how recently he was single. Even then, he told me within a day of his ex hitting him up (I can tell the exact day it happened because of his mood shift), was crying when he was telling me because he knew how much it was hurting me, and was extremely apologetic and let me go through my anger/sadness with him and just took it. I wish I did something wrong too so I could blame myself, but it's literally just the fact that I didnt meet him sooner During our last conversation of him apologizing and me basically being pathetic pleading for him, he told me he was gonna have to block me afterwards for his ex-now-current boyfriend's sake (which also sucks because it shows he's even super loyal), so I've had to try to process this alone. I've kept telling myself that his boyfriend was gonna cheat again and that would be the final straw and he'd come back, but it's been 6 months of no contact for us and them still being together. I just can't move forward and wondering how y'all have when you got dumped :,)

So I'm a gay black guy living in one of the worst states (Florida) and my straight best friend who is white says his emotions for me are confusing. I want to add he's only ever dated 1 girl. I'm 26 and he's 23. A week ago we were hanging out, talking for hours like we usually do. My question is for anyone that has ever been close with a hetero person. Did you ever catch feelings for them? Did you confess those feelings? Do you still maintain a relationship with them and if so, how do you react to situations where they enter a relationship? I don't think me and my bestfriend will ever be in a relationship or mess around. Really not trying to be delusional about the situation. My biggest fear in all of this is losing him or him doing something he'll regret. He's always been so kind to me and he's been there for many tear filled nights. I’ve been paying for a subscription for more than two years and I’ve gone maybe 30 times in total. I feel super insecure that I’m this kind of a person in front of ripped and good looking bodies. Like me lifting 20kg and a muscular person is waiting on me to use the machine for his/hers 150kg. I’m someone who has insane trust issues from childhood and when my trust issues or fears of abandonment flare up, it makes me shut down.
