Rip to the victims 10/17 EDIT: -
On Friday afternoon, George Santos, the New York representative whose tally of alleged federal crimes is now up to 23, was spotted screaming in the hallway of the Longworth House Office Building. It appears Santos — who famously suggested his family was Jewish then revised this to “Jew-ish” — was accosted by pro-Palestinian protesters. Santos was holding a 2-month-old baby when this all went down. “Not yet” sounds like a threat Source

YouTube has begun forcing users to disable ad blockers or try Premium, its paid subscription service. The move has been met with backlash from many users, who argue that it is unfair to force them to watch ads or pay for a service they do not want. Online communities, like on Reddit, have been voicing this concern for quite some time and the platform has also circumvented Ublock origin. It seems to have started some time this month: one says "If you have an ad-blocker on, YouTube will now only give you 3 videos to watch a day, similarly to porn sites where they limit the amount of previews you can watch a day, it's ridiculous" Another one says, “I’m thinking honestly about just dropping YouTube from my daily entertainment.” The video-sharing platform has been aggressively using a variety of methods to detect and circumvent ad blockers. In some cases, the company is even disabling video playback for users who are detected using an ad blocker. The only solution? Well, YouTube recommends paying $11.99/month for Premium to get ad-free viewing, and offline and background playback. But, is it worth it? NO. It’ll be a huge bet if YouTube wins this “war” against ad-blockers because there’s always a loophole to find. Even uBlock’s latest version (v. 1.52.0+) seems to be including a “fix” to workaround this issue. quick workaround is to first download uBlock Origin extension to your browser and just block element. news Clown terrifying scottish town dares police to catch him in creepy video
okgo posted a topic in The Lounge
A creepy clown known for terrifying residents of a small village in Scotland shared a bizarre message for local police and media -- just in time for Halloween. The man -- who has been scaring the people in Skelmorlie since 2021 -- posted an eerie video on Facebook earlier this week, in which he called out the media for the coverage of his reign of terror over the town, and taunted local police to try and catch him. In the video, which was posted under the profile name Cole Deimos, the clown, who calls himself the "Skelmorlie Clown" and dresses as Pennywise from the It franchise, creepily strolled down the streets at night while holding a red balloon. The clown relayed his message -- which rhymed -- in a voiceover, addressing stories written about him, while also daring police to find him. At one point, the clown named two reporters in particular, Daily Record journalists Stian Alexander and Sarah Vesty, who wrote an article titled, "Killer clown' stalking sleepy Scots village leaving residents terrified." According to the Daily Record, the Skelmorlie clown has left red balloons throughout the small town, which has a population of approximately 2,000 people. On Cole Demos' Facebook page, the clown said he's "self-employed," studied at "Clown School," went to "Hellgate High School" and is from "Hell, Michigan." As for the clown's costume, Pennywise the Clown is a character featured in Stephen King's 1986 horror novel It. -

Joint Chiefs of Staff "North Korea prepares for the possibility of a surprise attack using Hamas-style tactics" (Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Ho-jun and Park Soo-yoon = On the 10th, the Joint Chiefs of Staff reported to the National Defense Committee of the National Assembly that North Korea is preparing for the possibility of launching a surprise attack using the same tactics as Hamas' attack on Israel. After analyzing Hamas' attacks on Israel using rockets, guerrilla units, trucks and motorcycles, Director Kang said, "Based on the initial assessment, Hamas' surprise operation was successful." “The defensive effect of ‘Dome’ (rocket defense system) was minimal,” he analyzed. In relation to this, Director Kang cited surprise attack using Hamas-style tactics diversification of attack methods such as civilian equipment attack utilizing vulnerabilities in advanced defense systems psychological warfare using domestic SNS as expected scenarios that North Korea could use in this regard. He predicted that North Korea could occupy the border area and secure hostages to escalate tensions and induce negotiations. In addition, it is expected that surveillance systems can be evaded by mobilizing civilian equipment, and in particular, information surveillance satellites can be attempted using underground facilities or civilian equipment. source: https://www.yna.co.kr/view/AKR20231010164300504 The article was partly translated by Google so sorry for any errors -
