This pretty much proves she's here to stay. Yes, you can get fluke hits but if there's no actual interest you won't be opening over 300k. She's the newest member of the Gen Z MPG club alongside Billie and Olivia.26 points

You and the rest of your ilk were headed here regardless, have been desperately searching for reasons to return back to this position. You laughably claim 'divine intervention' but it has been a self fulfilling prophecy from day one and the most predictable thing imaginable. You act like Harris has betrayed you in some way, when you have known from day one that she is not a member of the progressive wing of the party, that she was never going to wake up tomorrow as Cori Bush, and indeed if she did that she would be sent packing in an electoral landslide. You are the same people that now hate Bernie Sanders and AOC - some of the only progressive congresspeople with any real power - because they did not continue your continuous match leftward, and because they are prepared to work with liberals to achieve progressive goals. You are deliberately blind about the realities of appealing to the American electorate, and pretend as if people like Kamala position themselves the way they do for no reason other than that they're just super evil bad people. It is fundamentally childish and stupid to envision voting as a 'moral' act, as you and others do. Voting is a strategic decision based on helping the candidate win who most closely aligns to some kind of political goal - that is it. It is blatantly obvious that Kamala Harris will be immensely better for the American people and those around the world than Donald Trump, but your purist moral handwringing over what a terrible liberal she is manages to obscure this obvious fact in your mind. It is a good thing you represent a tiny minority within a minority, and that you don't live in a swing state. If the French were all like you, we'd have president LePen. Thank god you remain, and will continue to remain, a fringe online communist whose views hold no actual power or currency outside of this forum23 points

She isn't wrong, just incredibly naive. If you set a boundary in a relationship, you have to be prepared to leave the relationship if that boundary is crossed. All the social media ranting in the world isn't going to stop weirdo stans from being weirdo stans. It isn't right, but it's reality. So will she stop doing the festivals and the talk shows and the public appearances because weirdo stans continue to cross her boundaries? Or will she continue to try to control things completely beyond her control? Because that's a losing game, honey.23 points

Gaga's rebrand has been one of the most interesting to watch for the past decade. And in my opinion, she won. Since the GP is fickle, the reception to her latter pop releases did not match the success she saw earlier in her career (quality matching it is topic for another day), but she wasn't gonna let that end her career. All of that changed when she switched gears and dabbled in a little bit of (later focused on) acting. Yet the success didn't end there... she's able to capitalize off this. Award season exposure + successful soundtrack definitely brought back interest to her. You can thank the respect she has gained over the years. Not that she never had it, but you can't just lie to my face and not say to me the public has changed their reception of her. In my opinion it's highly commendable how she went from the popstar who everyone saw wore crazy dresses singing with a disco stick to the career trajectory she has built now. Don't get me wrong, PopGa was FUN. but it proves that you don't need to be doing the same shtick from your peak to have a comeback. maybe i'm just saying that, those who got bored that Gaga have changed or like that thread saying she "lost her edge", maybe it is for the better...21 points

"At the end of the day, when people think they know what Lady Gaga is, I want to remind them that they don't." This is one of my fave quotes of hers, because it's also very much her artistic philosophy and essence. She had a plan all along and knew when and how to pivot. Billboard even covered this back in 2015 right after the Sound of Music performance. At the time, I didn't understand what this long-term plan would encompass and how long-term she was thinking, but watching everything unfold over the last 10 years made it crystal clear that she knows what she's doing. Today, there's a stunning duality to her career - an extravagant, larger-than-life pop star and an elegant, sophisticated old-school diva, with a throughline of her unique theatrical flair in everything that she does - and she seems to have found just the right balance. And attaining that requires a tremendous amount of nerve, conviction, hard work, and most importantly, talent. She's a master of the art of fame and reinvention. She can have the wildest ups and downs and in-betweens throughout her career, but her star will ALWAYS shine bright. This is the same woman just weeks apart this year. She's here to stay and stick around for a long, LONG time. Not just a legend, but one of the GOATs.16 points

Don't think it was her expressing her boundaries but how she came off. If she presented it like this, people would have resonated. But she came off very standoffish and unappreciative. Here she acknowledges she loves her fans -- she just wants to appreciate them when she's in "work mode" and not 24/7 which is valid. Her first message came off as "Yeah I'm famous but don't talk to me if you see me or ask for a picture ever or approach me. It's weird and creepy behavior" which, without context, just seems very rude to fans. This is a much better statement than her tiktok videos.15 points
