As for what makes it better, it's more an accumulation of everything she's done so far, an ode to SOPHIE and nod to the sound that they pioneered together, nostalgic and current and forward-thinking all at different times. It's comprehensive. Every song is consistent and bulletproof at achieving what its on the tracklist to do, and the sequencing is both well-considered and emblematically chaotic of who Charli XCX the artist is. If we insist on comparing the UK charts to the Olympics, then Taylor already got her gold medal for TTPD (i.e the Number 1 Award). She’s already won, and they don’t give you a new trophy every week you’re #1.
