  2. hmmmmmmm I remember people saying similar things about "Daisies" when it was previewed to a few people and that was one of my least favourite Katy songs so I'm taking these very excited reactions with a huge boulder of salt…

  13. I am not trying to shade you honestly, but this is truly one of the dumbest things I have ever seen in this thread... and that is saying a lot. It is 2024 and you are still worried about Katy Perry? Compared to Lady Gaga? Katy Perry, the woman who follows every trend, has shown zero artistic growth, and will do anything to be seen as "cool" is who you are worried about? So, you are just going to throw away the entire past decade of Gaga getting better in virtually every arena because of what some Twitter people are saying? Do you know why Katy is even having listening parties? Because she needs the PR. Nobody who is confident in their work needs to preview music under an NDA so those people then go onto social media and say things like "it is going to be her magnum opus", "it is very cunty". Calling Chromatica "generic" is exactly why fans like you will always be whining. Chromatica has some of Gaga's best themes, lyrics, and production of her entire career despite what you have been fed by stans who only care about chart success. A song like 911, Katy Perry would never even attempt to create. A song like Replay, Katy could only dream of making. Katy is "coming for blood" with Dr. Luke lyrics and Charli XCX visuals. If you think an artist like Gaga should be focusing on chart success vs. artistic growth, I am glad Gaga does not pay attention to fans anymore. Edit: There are no mistakes to learn from in terms of her music. Are you people okay? Gaga makes the music she wants to make. None of it is a mistake. You not getting a 10-week #1 to brag to internet strangers about does not make something a "mistake", it just means you need to get a life outside of stanning lol.

  14. She really saw that Britney retired, Dua flopped, Taylor makes lullabies, and Gaga makes pill commercials and decided to rescue the gays. During pride month too the activism.

  15. Context is important when ranking Gaga's albums in terms of overall success. ARTPOP has sold more SPS than Chromatica and Joanne but the entire dropped like a dead body after Applause, it's the closest she has to a panned record, and the arena tour barely scraped $83 million. Joanne sold more in the US, but it's global numbers ain't it and she needed to perform the era's only hit 50x plus at a halftime show just to get to the top 5. The record also had mixed reviews. The arena tour accomplished a respectable $95 million but the album's longevity is basically MR's streams. Chromatica earned Gaga her first pop #1 since Born This Way, had a #5 peaking lead despite being leaked months in advance, won a Grammy, earned her the strongest first-week debut since 2013, is one of her most acclaimed albums, has had better longevity than the other two records, and had a record-breaking stadium tour that grossed $120 million with a tenth of the dates the other tours had. Objectively speaking, this is the correct ranking of her most recent albums' performances: 1. Chromatica 2. ARTPOP 3. Joanne

  20. Katy Perry and Capitol Records held listening parties in the past hours, giving the chance to publishers and fans to listen to the album. The listening session took place at Jim Henson Studios in Hollywood. Entertainment Tonight, Fox News, Warner TV participated in the listening party. Here some reactions and comments:

  23. Spotify is so ugly and keeps making their service worse and worse. I used to be a Spotify user but switched to Apple Music in 2020 and it's better in almost every way. The personalised AM radio also has way better song suggestions than the Spotify daily mixes (which would always give me the same few songs they try to shove down users' throats). AM also allows you to change the metadata of songs which is the main reason I switched. The freedom of being able to change covers and add bonus tracks and save music the way I personally want it saved is something I'm never coming back from. Also the audio quality's better. Spotify really got nothing going for it now that I think about it... Except a few gimmicks that don't really add anything to the listening experience.
