I was on a work placement in a South West London recording studio for most of Christmas 1998 and first half term of 1999, and had the pleasure of working on sound mixing for a few album tracks on Texas's 1999 album 'The Hush'. "Summer Son" was one of them, we did more than just mix, we brought in session producers and I had to set up that session. I also cleaned up a lot of the demo, which wasn't quite as dancey if I recall correctly. No bells! Worth it. The song like immediately clicked with fans and radio, and I remember getting a letter (in the post lol) that BBC Radio were going to debut it as a single and promotional song exactly 25 years ago, during the official charts show. It was an unplanned single that's since become one of Texas's signature hits, and I got to milk my tiny little role and find myself working on Kylie and Robbie Williams that summer too. Edit: Thank you all for the love! For those that asked, I worked on the next two Texas releases, Kylie's Light Years and Fever, and Robbie's Sing When You're Winning.

Taylor taking photos with Billie and Olivia at music event doesn't mean they were ever friends . In contrast, she has been friendly with Sabrina since like 2016. She never owed those two anything. Anyway, it's all friendly competition unless someone gets worked up about like a baby. When Adele messed with Taylor's Red TV release by taking her date after Taylor already announced, Taylor just moved the date and didn't complain. It's an business. Artists don't take turns. So much drama over the very miminal promotion of a 4 week old album. if voice memos that like 100 swifties bought were enough to threaten billie that says more about billie's fan than taylor.

I don't know why her team would set her up like this, claiming she doesn't "give two shits" about the charts when she obviously does. These kind of mid-week drops (not to mention the dozen+ physical variants too) only exist to boost sales numbers. It's an effective strategy and she has every right to want her own music to be successful, but why allow yourself to look hypocritical in the first place?

The thing is, Billie made a valid point about physical media consumption. Olivia/Taylor sells different album versions that have exclusive bonus tracks on each to encourage multiple purchases. Taylor sells albums that encourage multiple purchases (i.e. collect 4 different covers of Midnights to construct a clock). All of the HMHAS vinyl variants contain the same cover and album. Different colour physical variants are the least egregious "collectible". Billie may not care about chart battles but that doesn't mean her label doesn't care either. The obsession of the Swifties to tear down Billie is pathetic.

So is it ok to play the game or is it not? Y'all need to stick to one narrative because less than a day ago y'all were calling Taylor the devil for promoting her album

Because Billie's record has 10 songs and all of them range from good to excellent. TTPD has 31 tracks and you have to SCAVENGE to find 2 or 3 decent songs on it. That's why.

I love Billie but girlie should have kept her mouth shut about the variants and claiming "not to care about #1's" via that HDD article if she can't walk the walk. It's totally fine to care about how your work is received and it performing well. She does this with awards/prestige as well by claiming she's undeserving but she campaigns more than Taylor does. I'm no Taylor fan but she isn't hiding that she wants success and validation from the industry.
