I don't have any issue with Switzerland winning the jury vote, I think most of us knew it was going to happen. What's really discouraging is that, for the second year in a row, the jury winner had such a big lead that it was next to impossible for anyone to overtake its first place. Having the overall winner end up 5th with the public is kinda putting the competition in negative light. Why should people spend their money if they have no actual power? As much as I agree that juries are needed in the competition to balance out neighbor voting, immigration influence, etc., they will always prefer Western countries over Eastern/Southern Europe, which makes me think it's time for a revision of the voting system. Next year's Eurovision might be the smallest in a while. I don't see the Netherlands returning so easily, and Croatia losing to a rich country will probably put off Eastern countries to some extent.12 points

There's something wrong with juries if they really think this mess was worth more points than Loreen last year. Winning from 5th in the televote just feels wrong, I hope the EBU accepts Norway's suggestion to reduce the power of the 185 jurors because the millions of paying voters at home are starting to feel scammed12 points

Why do you guys keep caring about this competition when it's all about politics? Israel getting support from these countries, Ukraine being constantly supported by the public etc., it's so boring.11 points

I came in here to say this might be one of the best songs of the year, and Camila stans are in panic modeโ ๏ธ this song is really good, it just needs an iconic vid and equally iconic Janet-esque performance w heavy choreo to sell it all the way. I know mama was litty at weho, but I think the energy she was exuding on Friday def gave me hope that this era will turn around for her. I have faith she'll pull through. She seems very liberated and comfortable in her own skin, which is lovely to see after years of her struggling to find herself as an artist. I love seeing this confidence from her and am looking forward to where she goes from here!!10 points

Hey everybody! This is my first post in this base and I have been a Gaga stan for forever now, so excited to be able to share my thoughts with you all I want to first talk about how insane it is that we have to wait over 4 years for new music this time around, potentially even 5. However, this has made me very apprehensive of the fact that I stan Gaga for her unique perspective on pop music, and that she doesn't really owe anybody anything - (not even her fans), and ofc this ultimately means that we don't owe her anything either. However, for me personally this realisation has only reinforced the fact that I will go ride or die for this lady! Even if the frequency of her releases or sometimes the releases themselves aren't in line with what I would want, I'm still here waiting to check in on her whenever and I always find something to cherish in her releases which I love! With that being said, this time around I feel like it's the most unprepared I have been for a Gaga release. If she just announced now, I would obviously be hyperventilating, but I would have no idea what I would be about to hear. I kinda like that but it's also really crazy to think about. We're pretty much in the dark unless I'm missing something.10 points

tbh i'm kinda tired of the narrative that having fun and entertaining acts cheapens the contest. people who don't respect eurovision for what it is won't suddenly be swayed that this is some serious classical music event. just because something is fun or 'jokey' doesn't mean it cannot be well produced music or artistry. and nobody has been tuning into eurovision for classic, serious music in decades. people follow because they want to hear good music and be entertained. i'm not opposed to having some sort of system in place that ensures that even less 'popular' countries or countries without big diaspora have a chance. but if you have a jury where clearly something is going on in the background that's causing everyone to mass vote one artist you're cheapning the experience for the audience who is finanicing this show. what's the incentive for me to vote or follow along if other musicians get to decide the fate of the contest. then i might as well watch any other talent show that is not financed with my money10 points

I think it's safe to post this again since that person should be sleeping, but I'll repost it(and I'm keeping it up this time but still keeping his username anonymous to respect his privacy less he wants to come forward, which I don't think he should). I met another ATRL user here when i travelled to another country last year and I really fell hard in love for him for the three days we've spent. I felt I was being the best version I could be; I was motivated and inspired by him. We kept communication for more than a year, up until two weeks ago when I decided to ghost. I want to preface this and say this relationship was established as a platonic friendship, with an open possibility of something more. I was much more invested into him than he was with me unfortunately, but such acts of care and love that I did for him did not go unnoticed. Before I left the country, I gave him my Taylor Swift cardigan because he's a swiftie and I knew he'd love it. On his 31st/32nd(?) birthday, I recorded a video of me baking a cake with his favorite tea flavor and making a popular birthday soup + meal in his culture. He was shocked to see this, but he was grateful and said he's never had anyone do this for him. It made me flushed with excitement and glee knowing I made him feel special, but after many dry, one-sided conversations and repeated patterns of replying back to certain messages with low effort responses, I just decided to tell him how I feel straight up. In my idealized version of him and wanting this one-sidedness to end how I felt I was owed, I wanted him to tell me that he did not like me the same way I did and cut me off from there, but instead he just said,"lmao!" If I pleaded for more explanation, I knew things were already obsolete and I'd just continue this cycle of one-sided conversations, so that's when I left him on read and ghosted. I've come a long way with past experiences of dating and finding my self-worth, but it hurts the most knowing I did all my best and I thought he would maybe care about me and not let me go by reaching out, but that didn't end up being. I was learning his native language(still am), and he indirectly motivated me to make reading an enjoyable hobby and I began my a regular fitness/workout + nutrition routine since beginning of March to be the best version of myself; a version of myself that I'm doing better without this unrequited friendship.9 points

The way this album for me has gone from almost dislike to love is insane. This is such a grower. It still has a number of filler tracks for me but I love most of it. Every one of my friends I got to listen to it did the same, as do many online. Albums being growers is not a new thing but for some reason this one in particular is such an explicit example and it is weird9 points

I'm happy for Switzerland because they haven't won for decades and Eurovision is coming back to a German-speaking country. However, I feel sorry for Croatia and I also think the current voting system is problematic. I am not against juries. I do believe that we need juries. Especially smaller countries like San Marino and Malta have difficulties to qualify and would benefit from juries. The problem is that juries often favour one country. Last year Sweden, this year Switzerland. Personally, I find it very strange how much unity there is. Switzerland was good and deserved to win the jury, but with so many points? It's time for a new voting system.9 points
