  2. I admire her honesty so much. Despite facing racial bullying, death threats, and constant negativity, she remains true to herself. She deserves the world. I'm grateful that she isn't focused on commercial success and is instead creating music that truly reflects who she is. She's a true class act.

  3. That's such a crazy way to start an article. 6 years just to announce the title of your debut album I really am rooting for Normani. However, I don't get why she hates on 'Motivation' so much. It's the best single she's released as her own (not as a feature or collaboration).

  12. April 26. A date that will live in pop music infa-ME! Let's take a stroll down nightmare alley. First we got a taste of the era's aesthetic: We learned that Taylor inflicted this song upon the world purely for the sake of being able to make this pun: Miss Americana revealed that she responded to reputation missing the general field at the Grammys by saying that she would make a better record. And that "better record" was… ME! She was so desperate to go #1 that she released vinyl singles of a live rehearsal of the song. No pop star has ever gimmicked half as hard: All that nonsense was for nothing, as ME! was famously blocked by "Old Town Road." It did, however, set the record for the biggest jump on the Hot 100 by going 100-2: Swifties were so distraught and embarrassed by the existence of the song that they gulped down the copium and tried to convince themselves that the song was actually written for the soundtrack of an animated children's movie. Taylor had to log in to tumblr to clap back: One swiftie in particular lashed out against the haters in a now-iconic viral tweet in which he spoiled the death of Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame: The lyric heard around the world: The world successfully bullied Taylor into deleting that lyric: Happy 5th birthday to an iconic mess of a moment in pop history. I hope "ME!" doesn't get beat up too badly at school now that she's beginning kindergarten. If we're lucky she'll learn how to spell soon, otherwise she'll never be able to get into The Tortured Poets Department.

  31. Anything said on the internet prior to 10 years ago should no longer be able to be held over anyone's heads imo. If someone still has bigoted or problematic views there'll be more recent evidence of it. Digging for dirt on people's past 13+ years ago is a weird and problematic behaviour in itself, and these people who try to call out celebs almost always have said some far worse stuff more recently that always comes to light.

  39. Isn't that kind of his point though? It's 41 years old ( apparently), but is still massively well known by the GP. He's saying that she doesn't have anything of that universality ( in his opinion) given how utterly huge she is.

  40. Third and most importantly; the album is just not on par with her best work. When you are THE artist of the world atm you can't deliver mediocrity. It also didn't help that Cowboy Carter was released before this. People are seeing a clear difference in quality and talent. The CC album is more than just music. Just like Michael Jackson and Madonna, Bey is breaking social barriers. Then Taylors album dropped; which people are not only finding mediocre, but also makes them think that she is adding very little or nothing to the bigger landscape beyond emo tween heartbreak songs.

  41. All I'll say is thank you Old Town Road…

  42. The amount of people coming for him as if he said his band was bigger he compared Taylor to Michael Jackson, not to himself.
