Taylor’s Jack Antonoff songs sound more similar yet I don’t hear people complaining about that. Dua is only on her third album and is carving out a sound for herself.49 points

Those are not "people", they're some homosekshas who are probably on this very forum telling her to scrap the era47 points

What is it with the gays on this forum and their unrealistic expectations for female artists to remain at the top of the game for the entirety of their lifespan? Literally every person named in your post has had their fare share of time in the spotlight, has established their place in pop culture & music and has amassed a fortune to last for generations. And at the end of the day that's all that matters. So what if JLo is flopping 25 years into her career? She's already made more money than she can spend in this lifetime. Good for her for putting some of that into a project she's very passionate about even after all these years in the industry. This should be celebrated but instead is being made fun of and ridiculed by frustrated internet homosexuals. The older I get the more tired I am of this pathetic behavior in this sub-culture.39 points

Beyoncé stealing writing credits is nothing new and we hear it for so many years now. Why trying to discredit it, dear Hive? Beyoncé does not write her own songs. She just doesn't. And like in this video mentioned, more and more ppl who have worked with her say the same.23 points

can we decide: is beyonce stealing credits or having too much people credited on her songs? if they don't complain about the former, they complain about the latter21 points

Not really sure it helps Charli's case that she doesn't understand Rina's issue isn't that she herself doesn't own her masters but that Matty was forced to step down from his executive position in the imprint due to his racism scandal yet was still allowed to maintain his partial ownership in all of the label's releases and why she takes issue with that as a woman of the race he and his friends were making fun of. It's basically the ethics issue of a golden parachute. Why is someone who is forced to leave a company due to a racism scandal still being paid out dividends from the profits of said label?20 points

A songwriter who has never worked with Beyoncé peddles a narrative already debunked by all of those who have worked with her? How thrilling.19 points

The disco conversation is getting tiring. There’s a clear sonical difference between Houdini and TS vs FN. The former songs are much more dirtier, edgier and with more attitude. Anyone with an ear can hear that. Just because she didnt completely switch genres doesnt mean it sounds the same, Houdini wouldn’t fit on FN at all18 points

As a Bey stan, I find these threads unnecessary. Let's celebrate Beyonce's success without pitting her against other women.17 points

She's 100% right. But she's not talking about "stealing credits", she's talking about taking a percentage of the publishing. Beyoncé is always, 100% of the time, credited as a songwriter and producer on every song she records. Of course, I believe she worked intimately with every song she records, but it's not fair to take a percentage of a work that you may not have earned. Of course we can never know how much Bey contributes unless we're in the studio with her, but her sentiment about how what happens with songwriters working for powerful artists is right. I wish Bey would work with a smaller pool of writers or be willing to give someone sole credit if necessary .13 points

Yes, Dua Lipa (an artist who obviously cares about commercial success) should abandon what is arguably the most profitable music market because her music (catch me or I go, Houdini) is too smart for US audiences12 points

This is properly smashing. It feels absurd that this is her first single to do this since 2008 when she's had huge moment after huge moment for the last 16 years, from the Superbowl, surprise album drop, Superbowl 2016 and Formation and Lemonade release, Renaissance.... but I feel like this single smashing is the culmination of all those years of carefully building up her brand to what it is now, transitioning from mere pop star to music legend. Now the public is ready to follow her in any sound.12 points

bey is the only artist i know who’s accused of not crediting writers yet supposedly having too much writers credited on her songs, next caller!11 points
-
She didn't say 0%, but you have to admit it's hard for a songwriter to have their main or only source of income cut into by someone who is already wealthy and has other income sources. Artists like Bey treat songwriters as disposable constantly requesting huge amounts of demos from huge amounts of songwriters, some who they never meet until later, and then taking partial credit. Bey is even known to mash different songs together or make different teams of people work on the same song, all increasing the number of people credited and cutting into their potential income. It's a great opportunity to work with someone like Bey but I get why she's saying its exploitative.11 points

Can we stop with the Karma lyrics being some sign of “she can be clunky songwriter”? She is clearly displaying wit and dry humour and those are intelligent traits. She being able to go from literal depths of epiphany to humorous wink of Karma only is a testament of how great her word capacites are and a proof that quality exists in different lanes.11 points
