Sza is actually pathetic for playing the song at Rihanna’s writing camp and then playing the victim when she wanted it. Mind you, the song was horrendous before Rihanna took it. - Rihanna put her on the map with the song… she’s ungrateful46 points

The music industry and people like Rihanna who's only talent is having an "ear for hit songs" are so fu+cked up. Pathetic.38 points

Not every performer needs to be a writer, too. In fact, some good singers, are not good at writing songs. And we need to go back to a point where we can acknowledge that that's okay, instead of forcing artists to do things that don't emphasize their strengths. I think this is what's wrong with a lot of brand new artists these days that struggle to break through. They're all expected to write their material and most of it is just garbage.32 points

Just don't go around playing songs you intend to keep for yourself it's not really that hard Rih was also nice enough to keep her as a feature & for a good while people only really knew her for that/it boosted her career so Also don't get why she keeps on talking about this like girl it's 2023 and you've achieved MUCH bigger things since then, it's time to move on22 points

God, I can't even breathe. I teared up several and I mean SEVERAL times. Thing is, I never went to any of her concerts in person, but today I finally had the opportunity to support her the way she has supported me mentally and emotionally through her art, and I am so deeply grateful to be alive at the same time she is. The universe knew what it was doing, putting me on this earth during this specific time period. From the first note of DIL I started bawling, but I had a serious mental shift happen with Flaws and All, a song I never really cared for before but has now become a top 5 even top 3 song of hers for me, legit something happened to my brain chemistry during it, it sounded and looked and FELT so good that I knew something I have never experienced before was about to take place and that it did, It really freaking did! I had a serious 2 and half hour escape from the world just like she wanted and asked for, and as the film kept going I dreaded the upcoming ending, it was really and truly THAT good. I wish this base's hive weren't so cynical sometimes, like I don't care for my house either, but in that theater it felt euphoric just like every other hymn of hers. I think all of us in general just need to accept her as she presents herself to us, that is in my opinion the best way that you can enjoy her. Anyways 5/5 10/10 100000000000/100000000000 I feel rejuvenated and cleansed, and I am currently fighting my biggest demons and opp (my brokeness) to not get another ticket IMMEDIATELY and re-experience this core memory of mine. I love you Beyoncé, i really truly do.17 points

You played a great song at a writing camp, and got surprised when it got asked for? You'd think a songwriter would keep the stuff for their album private and not shown to other people. Why show the song you based YOUR album around?? Why gamble that16 points

Full letter: https://artistsforpalestine.org.uk/2023/11/30/olivia-colman-among-1000-artists-accusing-art-institutions-of-censorship-on-palestine/ Love to see artists/actors/celebs who aren't afraid to stand for what's right and speak up against the blatant censorship and silencing of pro-Palestine voices. Solidarity is more important than ever Glad to see mother Olivia here as well15 points

"Soulmates tend to find each other during their respective pursuits of their soul missions." (Japanese saying) During my recreational comparative musicianship studies, I noticed something very important that few have pointed out: the staggering similarities between Katy Perry and Post Malone's career trajectories. Let's go in detail! First album: One of the Boys / Stoney A success from both, selling slowly but steadily and producing multiple hits, but nowhere near the next record's unpredictable and unprecedented success. Second album: Teenage Dream / Beerbongs & Bentleys Artists catapulted into megastardom. Multiple inescapable Diamond hits and #1's. Third album: Prism / Hollywood's Bleeding Continued success, once again multiple Diamond-certified smashes. Popularity peak around the globe. Fourth album: Witness / Twelve Carat Tootache Clear and sudden decline after a relatively long break. Despite (or due to) little changes in sound and behavior, the public got tired. Lead single goes top 10 and certifications still arrive, at least! Fifth album: Smile / Austin Their "most personal record" to date, no noise whatsoever. The lead single fails to go top 10, the following singles are all huge bombs, and the era is soon abandoned and forgotten about. What's next for them? Soon we'll know. What we can say about Katy Perry and Post Malone is that they both defined an era in music and that their hits will represent a lot of people's youths and that they won't be forgotten about, even if their next records manage to do worse (if that's even possible). They can both be proud of their legendary achievements. My mathematician friend and fellow ATRLer @J_Roc1042, who I thank deeply, created a graphic representation of my theory for better understanding.14 points

i love SZA. found her in 2014 and the first time i heard ICE.MOON i was a stan. she should thank her lucky stars every day of the week that Rihanna featured her on Consideration. it was absolutely the thing that catapulted her and made her eventual album CTRL something people checked for. if she dropped that album without the Rihanna co-sign, she would simply not be the global artist , on track to potentially with AOTY at the Grammys , that she is right now11 points

The way she stealed Tinashe's title track from Joyride after Tinashe announced the album and made her buy the rights to the track after ANTI got released "We bought it back," Tinashe said. "It’s kind of crazy and I’m not even 100 percent sure what happened. We created the track, I wanted it for my project, then all of a sudden I found out — I was told — that she had purchased the whole concept and beat for her project. Eventually when that didn’t come out on her project, I was like, “Yup … still want it!” I named my album after it." "At least Rihanna left SZA on the song," Tinashe said. "That’s nice. It’s interesting because you’re collaborating with a lot of different people who are also adding pieces and parts to your music. So when that happens, you have to have a good amount of synergy. It is a business and there are business opportunities that people want to take. For me, it’s about maintaining the core and staying focused on making the best music."10 points
