One group is currently resisting an oppressive regime and making attempts in decolonization tho. So while there are innocent victims in both territories, the fight that is ongoing is ultimately rooted in Palestinians resisting zionism and genocide that has been ongoing for 80 years. That really doesn't make it a valid comparison. Especially considering the fact that the Palestinian death toll has been around 15 times higher than the Israeli death toll during the last 15 years of this Israel-Palestine conflict (UN data). And this isn't even taking into consideration the very sheer, inhumane living conditions the Israel government has let Palestinians live in as well. Equalizing the Palestinian trauma with Israelis now that both sides are attacking just showcases both the hypocrisy of the media and actually shows you that YOU are the one brainwashed (or you are just a racist who doesn't care about the blood arabs shed)

And some of you have the nerve to narrow this entire conflict down to Hamas, like Israel hasn't been oppressing, displacing and killing Palestinians for 70+ years. This isn't Israel being "forced" to do anything. This is their modus operandi and always has been. If Hamas has any kind of legitimacy or support in Gaza, it's because Israel refused to uphold its agreements with secular Palestinian forces and supported Islamist groups in the 80s as part of a divide-and-conquer strategy. If any of you actually cared about ending civilian suffering, you'd be focusing on the root cause of the issue (Zionist apartheid), not the consequence.

Israel is going to be remembered as a terrorist state no different than Rhodesia, no matter what narratives those in Western countries have to comfort themselves with.

I can do it, but it really depends on the level of severity. If it's something egregious like rape, sexual assault, etc, then I cannot ignore it. But for example if it's a problematic action that doesn't necessarily hurt anyone but themselves (Lana's QFTC, Ariana homewrecking queen, Charli being insufferable) then I can easily separate the art and move on with my life

Individuals arguing against "both sidesing" this need to accept that the deaths of 900+ Israeli civillians, mostly in a single morning of brutal cold blooded violence and rape, has permanently changed the moral landscape of this conflict. I have been absolutely disgusted to see Hamas' medieval barbarism framed as revolutionary, necessary, or even "based", and dismayed by people denying the obvious reality that it represented an massive escalation of the conflict. Palestine must be free. Israel must abandon its campaign of revenge. It must end its illegal colonialist polices in the West Bank, more actively seek permanent peace, and it must be prepared to make concessions in this process. But Hamas' radical islamist ideology guarantees that Palestinians cannot be free. Their barbaric actions grant some justification for Israel's containment policies in Gaza that simply didn't exist a few days ago. While they remain committed to the violent and genocidal goal of wiping Israel off the map, there will not be true peace. No land is worth the ongoing suffering and oppression of an entire people group. That is the reality of the situation as it stands, in my view.

IJBOL, im a progressive (slightly liberal) and the conservatives ate the liberals up, like it was embarassing for them… Also, not sure why people are saying being a trans conservative is impossible, anyone can be conservative in the same vain anyone can be a liberal, when you try to add people’s intrinsic characteristics to a whole movement, you’ve lost the narrative. It’s specially apparent when you look at the newer Latino demographic in U.S. which is increasingly becoming more conservative as time goes on, a failure of the dems. These blue states think that just because their voters are minorities, that these same people will always vote blue and because of that, the dems do bare minimum for their people; many younger Latino Gen Z and Gen Alpha is gravitating toward the cringey redpill sh*t and Andrew Tate talking points and that is NOT good for us. If we (I’m assuming most ATRL agrees we are pretty liberal or progressive) want to truthfully engage with the arguments to tackle them head on, we can’t go attacking people based on their beliefs that might seem contradictory to their characteristics, it’s very limiting to assume every trans person has to be a lib, every latino has to be a lib, every redneck has to be conservative, every catholic has to be conservative, like ppl are not monolithic and we can get more progress when we engage with what people are actually saying vs. what they are or identify with.

This is what happens when a platform like Jubilee always hires professional media-trained right-wing pundits for the conservative side to spew the talking points to millions of people I remember when Jubilee did the teacher vs. conservative parents, and one of the parents was literally the PragerU CEO but somehow she presented herself as a "concern parent".
