P!nk Forever Posted December 26, 2017 Author Posted December 26, 2017 (edited) BUBBLING UNDER Honorable songs that didn‘t make the cut (Part I). Bad Bad Day Bad Influence Beam Me Up But We Lost It Chaos And Piss Eventually Heartbreak Down How Come You‘re Not Here I Can‘t Help It I Don‘t Believe You Edited December 26, 2017 by P!nk Forever
P!nk Forever Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 (edited) Those were the times stanning was really fun. So What was a #1 hit and this follow up had me hoping for so much more. While not as successful as the lead single it performed pretty well though. Sober sounds also quite different from previous P!nk singles thanks to the production by Danja. The video, directed by Jonas Âkerlund is an art piece and among her best despite some tiny flaws. The live performances on the trapeze for the song were the most daring thing P!nk would ever do back then. It was impressive. Edited December 28, 2017 by P!nk Forever
P!nk Forever Posted December 27, 2017 Author Posted December 27, 2017 (edited) A meaningful song like we usually know it from P!nk. The lyrics are beautiful and speak to me a lot. It's usually those songs made for outcasts who are not the prettiest or most successful but are special on their own which a range of people can relate to. The clean version though is the one I like more because of the high note in the end. It gives me goosebumps. Edited December 28, 2017 by P!nk Forever
P!nk Forever Posted December 28, 2017 Author Posted December 28, 2017 (edited) To me this is the best ballad that is on Beautiful Trauma. It has turned out that Julia Michaels is a perfect collaborator to P!nk. This song and Barbies (#27) have proven that. At least in my countdown. It doesn't get boring. The verses may be simple but the chorus is powerful. And so is the big shot in the end when she goes off. For Now is a gem in P!nk's discography which shines bright among the party hits and acceptance songs. Edited December 28, 2017 by P!nk Forever
P!nk Forever Posted December 28, 2017 Author Posted December 28, 2017 (edited) It didn't take me long to notice that this pure pop rock song was a sure hit in the making after I bought M!ssundaztood. That it would turn into another signature hit of hers wouldn't occur to me back then. Among other female pop rock artists that came with Avril Lavigne P!nk would always stay the same without following a trend. That she does exactly this until today shows in her almost 20 year spanning career. The video for Just Like A Pill showed yet another side of P!nk - sexy, dark and strong and is up there as one of her best. Edited December 28, 2017 by P!nk Forever
P!nk Forever Posted December 29, 2017 Author Posted December 29, 2017 The best track hands down on rose ave. in my opinion. I love the verses, the chorus, altogether. For an independent project like You+Me this song is just too good to be not made that public. I live for the professional recording and only live performance they gave in Santa Monica. You can clearly see how well they work as a duo and that the album that resulted out of it is a golden mark to each of their discographies.
P!nk Forever Posted December 29, 2017 Author Posted December 29, 2017 BUBBLING UNDER Honorable songs that didn‘t make the cut (Part II). I Have Seen The Rain (feat. James T. Moore) Leave Me Alone (I‘m Lonely) Love Song M!ssundaztood Run Runaway To Love Me Now True Love (feat. Lily Allen) Waterfall (with Stargate & Sia) You Make Me Sick
P!nk Forever Posted December 29, 2017 Author Posted December 29, 2017 (edited) That track on Beautiful Trauma that stands out upon the rest. I hope it become a single to shut several haters up. Whatever You Want is another dynamic Max Martin collaboration. Great pop rock like we know it from P!nk. She's at her best when she sings about serious topics without them sounding too gimmicky which is often the case like in So What or Raise Your Glass - other Max Martin productions. If it becomes a single it could clearly be a milestone in her huge catalogue of hits. Edited December 31, 2017 by P!nk Forever
P!nk Forever Posted December 30, 2017 Author Posted December 30, 2017 (edited) You hear songs like this and get blown away. First there was the original by GoNorthToGoSouth who wrote and produced the track. I also like it a tad more, but I don't like P!nk's version less. Every time I hear it I feel the urge to dance like P!nk does in the video, just move along to each lyric. It kinda shocks me that it wasn't a bigger hit. She also did quite promote it a lot and in various ways like the American Music Awards or the Target commercial. It's still a notable hit and a very good one. Edited December 31, 2017 by P!nk Forever
P!nk Forever Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 Today we'll get to know which song is #1 in my ranking! Be prepared. Which song could be left?
P!nk Forever Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) I was stoked to find out that this would eventually become a single as a sticker on the album would reveal back then. However plans were scrapped, maybe because the story of the song is about abuse and is too personal for P!nk to release. To me this is truly the best song on I'm Not Dead because it's probably the darkest on it and P!nk really feels it and brings all the blackest memories to light. The heavy guitars throughout the choruses and the best part - the bridge make this an epic blockbuster in P!nk's discography. Edited December 31, 2017 by P!nk Forever
P!nk Forever Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 Blues may or may not be one of my least favorite genres. But this track on the Trouble single is made for the heavens. It's also P!nk's and Linda Perry's best collaboration in my book. Free is about hope and everyone could have some these days with terror and wrong politics making the news each and every day. This is also a personal breakout to everyone who feels caved in sometimes including me. Why it didn't make the tracklist on Try This doesn't click to me. Maybe it's the length. But really, if I had to choose between the other lengthy track on the album, Waiting For Love (#60 in my countdown) and Free I would always choose the latter.
P!nk Forever Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) Everyone may have that one song they would like to have played at their funeral. To me When We're Through is that song. While only another B-Side to a single (Sober) it proves again that those songs are the pure gems left out in P!nk's normal discography of album songs and singles. P!nk sings about life, its obstacles, its routine and the way it really is. And that's just one attribute about P!nk I love so much - how real she is, just like a normal human being among all the Instagram and Snapchat celebrities. Even the mention of Janis Joplin, one of her idols is infinite. I think she would have smiled would she have listened to the song while still alive. It's songs like these that are forever in my heart, undoubtedly my #1 in my official P!nk countdown. Edited December 31, 2017 by P!nk Forever
