Manos Posted December 15, 2017 Author Posted December 15, 2017 I'll begin with my top 20 albums of 2017. These are based on my last.fm data, but with some criteria: - The album had to be released between December 3, 2016 and December 2, 2017. - Albums from which I have only played the tracks partially (just one or two) are not counted. Since I use Spotify to listen to music, and singles released before the album are counted as albums on last.fm, they will be combined with the real albums for this ranking. ____________________________________________________________________ #20 Holiday Night Girls' Generation Most played track: "All Night" This album came into my life quite unexpectedly, but I got hooked on "All Night" and then decided to check out the rest. Really good kpop album. ____________________________________________________________________ #19 Utopia Björk Most played track: "The Gate" This should be a lot higher, but the main reason it's not is its length. When I listen to albums I usually want to take time to listen to the entire album, but I don't always have 1h20min to spare, especially during school time. I was anticipating this the second that "The Gate" was released, and the album itself is pure bliss. "Tabula Rasa" is another highlight for me. ____________________________________________________________________ #18 Dua Lipa Dua Lipa Most played track: "New Rules" To be fair I wasn't really into this album at all in the beginning, I had liked some of the tracks released from it beforehand, but overall I wasn't too impressed with it. However, when "New Rules" started becoming a major hit and then was stuck in my head for days, I decided to give the album another chance. I still don't enjoy every track but the plays I have for the tracks I enjoy are enough to put this album at #18. ____________________________________________________________________ #17 MASSEDUCTION St. Vincent Most played track: "Los Ageless" Really, really good album. Was kinda shocked it wasn't higher to be fair, let me give miss Annie some coins and play it a little more now. I wasn't too hyped for it at first but "Los Ageless" and then "Pills" got me invested, although every track on here is a masterpiece in its own right. ____________________________________________________________________ #16 RELAXER alt-J Most played track: "3WW" I know a lot of people love to hate this album, but as someone that wasn't exactly familiar with alt-J's music before, I thought it was pretty good. After listening to their older albums I'd maybe agree it doesn't shape up that well, but it's still a very solid album. "3WW" is definitely the highlight for me, but "In Cold Blood" and "Deadcrush" are also lovely.
Pendulum Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Godtopia and Masseduction are top 10 material tho
