305 Posted December 13, 2017 Author Posted December 13, 2017 #47 DNA- Kendrick Lamar One of the best from DAMN., such a good song to get pumped up
305 Posted December 13, 2017 Author Posted December 13, 2017 #46 Wishlist- Kiiara One of two Kiiara songs released this year, Wishlist is superior. It's a different sound for but still very Kiiara, and the lyrics are so creative and the production is so chill.
305 Posted December 13, 2017 Author Posted December 13, 2017 #45 Slide- Calvin Harris ft. Frank Ocean & Migos I was OBSESSED with this song when it first came out. The vibe is so chill and retro, definitely a departure for Calvin. #44 Owe Me- Big Sean His whole album is good but this is my favorite album track. His verses are on point and the chorus makes the whole song. #43 Eyes Closed- Halsey My favorite song from hopeless fountain kingdom. The effects used on her voice make it sound so special, and the overall production is amazing. #42 Issues- Julia Michaels Usually it's hard for hit songwriters to make it into the mainstream, but Julia did and I'm so glad because she's so talented! Issues was such a surprise hit, it's an extremely beautiful and well written song. #41 Chantaje- Shakira ft. Maluma When most people talk about artists' whose careers have lasted awhile, I feel like Shakira has been neglected. This bitch is 20+ years in the industry and can still knock out BOPS and HITS like this. Plus she is really smart for getting the sexy and talented Maluma on it.
shelven Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Touch, Thunder, Eyes Closed, Issues Also I'd say Despacito too but the original >>>>>
305 Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 Now it's time to introduce the 10 Most Disappointing Albums of 2017. There was SO MUCH good music this year, but not all of it was great. Here are the first two albums in my list of most disappointing albums this year... 10. FUTURE- Future After the success of 'Mask Off' I expected this to be much better than it is 9. ÷ (Divide) Shape Of You was unexpected sound that worked for him, but the rest of the album kind of felt flat and didn't stick with me for much of the year.
sumthintoxic82 Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Slide was good Issues was a surpise and Chantje
Pedro Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Queen Shakira I am happy to see some love for the eternal Latin Queen! And I wouldn't call Ed disappointing... It's not like he delivers good music.
305 Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 Time for my Top 25 Artists of 2017 This list takes into account how much I listened to the artist, how much impact they had on my life this year, whether or not the music was good, and also how much I heard of them overall
305 Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 Bubbling Under Top 25 Artists of 2017 First let's start off with some artists that I appreciated/liked but for some reason or another it wasn't enough for the top 25 Kiiara She's put out bop after bop this year, which unfortunately did absolutely nothing on the charts. Calvin Harris He lowkey was the soundtrack to my summer but as soon as summer finished, so did he. Halsey She definitely proved ATRL wrong with back to back hits, a successful and acclaimed sophomore album, and plenty of headlines. But, in the end she was kind of just there. Rita Ora After years of set backs and continuous flops, Rita finally prevailed (sort of) with the bops Your Song and Anywhere. Unfortunately for the award show chanteuse, the US is still not here for ha. Katy Perry After an almost 4 year break between albums Katy finally returned and....did not deliver. Much of the GP and fans alike ended up turning on her as her new style (both musically and fashionably) did not sit well with many. Even though she is one of my most listened to artists of the year, I did not find her interesting enough to break the top 25.
305 Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 #25 Imagine Dragons After a rocky era with their last album, Imagine Dragons came back full force with an album full of hits. One of my most played artist and album of the year, probably would have been higher up had I seen them in concert. #24 MØ Probably one of the most underrated artists this year. Since making her international breakthrough back in 2014 with Iggy Azalea on 'Beg For It', MØ has remained relatively obscure besides when her name is credited on smash hits like Lean On and Cold Water. This year she released the masterpieces 'Nights With You' and 'Don't Leave' with Snakehips. She ended the year strong with a very different and LOUD EP that is filled with bops. #23 Nicki Minaj Without even releasing an album, Nicki managed to stay relevant thanks to a string of features and her own shade-laced trio of songs released earlier this year, which included on of my favorites 'No Frauds'. Girl release your album!
Dom Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 slide is such a highlight btw, one of 2017's best songs. hey I see MO, slay. Nicki tho eh. she did nothing good this year, nor provided anything to listen to. rita really had a good year, anywhere is that song.
lhdang2000 Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Suprised Nicki made it, and I don't know how, but ID is just THAT band, I thought they'd be one-era wonder, but they've proved me wrong.
Mr.Link Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Not a fan of any of the artists in the close calls so not a big loss. Imagine Dragons I perfer their previous album though.
305 Posted December 15, 2017 Author Posted December 15, 2017 #40 Disco ****- Tove Lo Arguably one of the most underrated songs of the year. It totally flopped when it shouldn't have. It's such a feel good bop, I hope Tove can come back into the spotlight! #39 Shape of You- Ed Sheeran Say what you want about Ed or this song but I have always loved it. Such a good melody and flow, the production is almost identical to Cheap Thrills which is probably why I like it so much. #38 Wolves- Selena Gomez & Marshmello Selena SLAYED this year in terms of quality. The way the chorus builds up to that electro beat is incredible. #37 I Got You- Bebe Rexha Should've been WAY bigger. #36 Sorry Not Sorry- Demi Lovato What can I say...Demi slayed me this year.
