Vxspertine Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) Hello everyone and welcome to my 2017 Year-End List! My list will include 60 albums and EPs, divided to 4 different categories. These are the categories: 1. Disappointments of the year (10 ): I think the title is obvious enough These are the albums that disappointed me the most this year. They're not (nessicarily) the worst albums of the year, but I was disappointed by them for different reasons and I thought they were worth a mention for that. 2. Honorable Mentions (10 ): These are the albums that I either could not score, did not listen to enough this year, or liked but didn't care for enough for them to reach anywhere beyond this category. 3. The (not really) Best Albums Of The Year (20 ): This is the first half of my albums of the year list. These are albums that I liked enough and heard enough to rank, but that I have some mixed feelings towards. I thought they were cool but I also thought they weren't as good as my favorites. 4. The Albums Of The Year (20 ): These are my 20 picks for the best albums of this year. Hope you enjoy! Spoiler I suck at graphics but I did my best so don't judge me please I'll try to post an update every day so we'll get this done quickly Edited December 24, 2017 by Vxspertine

Thanks y'all This year was a lot in a lot of ways. In the music world there were a TON of releases pretty much all year. It was a pretty consistent year too, with a lot of very solid albums coming out pretty much all the time. There weren't really that many bad albums, and overall the quality wasn't harmed by the quantity. For me personally, I tried to cut a lot of albums out this year. I only listened to albums that sparked my interest and skipped albums that didn't, unlike last year when I tried to listen to as many albums as I could in an attempt to not miss anything. From the albums that I have heard, this year didn't manage to top the best years for music this decade, but it wasn't bad either. There were a lot of albums that I did enjoy and a few that I really loved. Let's start with the bad though. The first segment of my countdown, "Disappointments Of The Year", will begin shortly Edited December 12, 2017 by Vxspertine

Vxspertine Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) Why did I even listen to this? Why did I think it was going to be even remotely decent? I'm still mad at Kendrick for being on their song. It's honestly so boring and mediocre, even the snippets on iTunes couldn't keep my attention for more than 3 seconds. Even with how terrible this album was obviously going to be, it still managed to disappoint me. Spoiler Score: Misery/10 Best tracks: N/A Worst track: Everything Decent album but it wasn't really anything special imo. He has some masterpieces under his name and this simply fails to even come close to them. It gets pretty boring towards the middle and the whole album just feels too lowkey to be interesting. Spoiler Score: 6/10 Best tracks: Alap, Scientists Worst track: Tremper Edited December 12, 2017 by Vxspertine

Vxspertine Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) Disappointing album for me. It stretched out for way too long, and was boring pretty much the whole way through. Almost every track on the album is boring, almost all the lyrics are terrible. A good chunk of the production of the album is just NOT the tea. Lana really just didn't do it for me this time around. Spoiler Score: 6/10 Best tracks: Groupie Love, Get Free, Change Worst track: Summer Bummer Liked it a bit at first but it's just extremely meh imo. Everything about this is just underwhelming. Even when the songs pick up or start to get interesting they just fall back down right after. Spoiler Score: 5.5/10 Best tracks: Point Of No Reply, It's A Good Life Worst track: Something to Remember Me By Edited December 12, 2017 by Vxspertine
Vxspertine Posted December 12, 2017 Author Posted December 12, 2017 Just boring. I definitely wanted more from them. Spoiler Score: 5.5/10 Best tracks: Airborne Worst track: Counting Down Awful record and didn't deserve any of the praise it got. This album is everything but good. It's the most basic stereotype for dad punk rock with boring lyrics and boring vocal performances. I was very disappointed by it when I first heard it. Such a shame since it was one of the more popular albums labeled as noise rock this year. Spoiler Score: 3/10 Best tracks: Ignorecam Worst track: Pretty much everything else
Tom Vercetti Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Oh i'm here for this. Some reasonable choices so far.
theblackestday Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Bye @ Lust for Life fatty. The moment you put Summer Bummer as the worst track automatically invalidated your list Agree about The Horrors but I still liked it.
GokuRed Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Lyrics WERE awful on that album I liked the production but her melodies coulda been so much better imo
