(mainly I just have visions of white girls getting crunk to it - lawd) He really did go off this year. I just don't understand why Damn had to be the album to give him the success he deserves but I'm still really happy for him. 51 minutes ago, volition said: I am PERCHED for this top 10. Rina's EP was the best pop release of the year and you can stay pressed Did you listen to Clarence's album yet? 1 minute ago, Lucas32 said: Trouble will find me is easily among their Top 3 albums though at least you stan the best song of all time Pink Rabbits so I can overlook this Venus Fly was my favorite Grimes video of the era after Kill V. Maim. TWFM is by far their worst album imo Their top 3 is Boxer > Aligator > High Violet Short update today, I'll post the rest of the albums (and the music videos) this Saturday
volition Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Rina’s EP really was great! My favourite was 10-20-40and I was playing it when I read the post lol. It actually grew on me too. I feel like I’m gonna overplay it eventually tho. National’s album was excellent, they have such a consistent standard in their discog and really served quality this time. Total Darkness, Guilty Party >>> im prob gonna go when they tour here too Nkt saying much on it but Vince’s album is one of the best of the year for sure.
World Eater Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Idk what everyone sees in the Venus Fly mv, it was rather uneventful You're serving AGAIN with your album list tho

I've been overplaying it a lot and it didn't grow old on me yet Omg you should definitely see them live, their live concerts are great from what I've heard And Vince really served. I wasn't fully on board right away because of his vibe but the production made me come back to it until it grew on me. 11 minutes ago, AlexisNeiers said: Idk what everyone sees in the Venus Fly mv, it was rather uneventful You're serving AGAIN with your album list tho It's just really visually pleasing I guess And they're both serving looks And thanks Forgot to post a recap: Spoiler 10. Rina Sawayama - RINA 9. The National - Sleep Well Beast 8. Vince Staples - Big Fish ~ 4. Grimes - Venus Fly (music video) 3. Richard Dawson - Ogre (music video) Edited December 19, 2017 by Vxspertine
Tom Vercetti Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Album spots looking A Okay so far. And yeah I hate Clarence for promoting Rina's EP more than his own work.
Lazuli Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Sleep Well beat is wonderful Don't come for Trouble Will Find Me and ESPECIALLY Day I Die tho Venus Fly had GORGEOUS visuals but they highkey dropped the ball when they put the entire video is slow motion
soml Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 The National I love Venus Fly, good it got the video it deserved
Dom Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 venuss flysss, i love ittt, the video everything was a slay? Can I GET A SLAY.... !

Pink Matter Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Loving the albums Melodrama, Pleasure, Masseduction, Okovi, Saturation II, DAMN., RINA, and Big Fish Theory Can't wait to see what else you got
SLIME Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 I LOVE LOVE LOVE Art Angels but I don't feel too strongly about any of the videos and I don't think the National are my kind of band so all the love doesn't always make sense to me but I remember being into the lead single at least. I loveeee Vince/BFT too but agree it could have ended on a better note than Rain Come Down Rina is a cool girl. I've been hearing about Clarence since end of last year so it might be time to get into his solo stuff.

All of her videos are visually pleasing but nothing really special tbh RCD doesn't have anything to do with the album at all imo, and it's really not good at all aswell You really should try his solo album, it's one of my favorite albums of the decade Last update on Saturday, I could post my top 10 albums of last year on Friday if anyones interested in that
Konan Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 i agree with you, Humanz is a big big disappoinment, i really love Demon Days and Plastic Beach. That's why i expect at least as good as Plastic Beach. i dont see the xx and LCD Soundsystem, maybe they're in top 5

Egon Schiele Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Waiting for Utopia to welcome everybody else's faves to Bangkok I'd say L4L was the biggest disappointment this year... I mean, Maroon 5 can't disappoint; they've been bad for years!
Zay Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Quote 20. Lorde - Melodrama 19. Feist - Pleasure 18. St. Vincent - Masseduction 16. Arca - Arca 15. Brockhampton - Saturation II 12. Kendrick Lamar - DAMN. 11. Sevdaliza - Ison 10. Rina Sawayama - RINA 8. Vince Staples - Big Fish Love these I couldn't get into Zola for some reason. Will give her another try
K$Ellie Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Rina is a cute album Take Me As I Am is a great Britney reject Venus Fly's visuals are great but it's too slow the song is a slay tho

Uncatena Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 very solid picks so far, especially liked melodrama and masseduction
Vxspertine Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 (edited) Let's get this over with 7. Iglooghost - Neō Wax Bloom Spoiler Score: 8.5/10 (8.8/10) Trinity: Super Ink Burst, Zen Champ, Infinite Mint Worst track: Teal Yomi Iglooghost is a bedroom electronic producer who makes the most insane cartoony pop-esq beats. His music is some of the most explosive, colorful and super cute and catchy electronic music I've heard this year. With insane production of poppy electronic songs, his sound is pretty original and full of energy, and his music is super cute and cartoony. I feel like this could be the soundtrack for some futuristic (good) Nickelodeon cartoons. I'm very very excited to see what he will do in the future with (hopefully) more tools and collaborators. This is one of the most fun and full of energy electronic releases of this decade, and I think his talent as a producer is undeniable. The last 3 tracks are the worst tracks on the album mainly because they just don't have as much energy as the rest of the album, but they're still excellently produced and for a debut album, the duds are still very impressive. Btw, that drop in Super Ink Burst... WHEEEEEW.. Edited December 23, 2017 by Vxspertine
Vxspertine Posted December 23, 2017 Author Posted December 23, 2017 Favorite music videos of the year: 2. Björk - The Gate Björk came through with A VIDEO. This is another amazing addition to her already-amazing videography, and it's definitely the best video from Utopia (yet ). Everything about this video is flawless - It fits the song perfectly, her looks are amazing, the story is heartwarming and the DANCERS, she did THAT. Spoiler
