I was kinda underwhelmed With Broken's sophomore album With Damn, agree on some parts (like Love not being good). Still don't think it's his worst tho, but compared to the previous two, it's less concept heavy. Only that EP1 > EP2 I listened to it much more than I thought I would after my first listen Maybe I was reaching, Section 80 isn't better, but considering it was released as his first project it's more impressive imo 4 hours ago, artangels said: 2 hours ago, prézli said: Nothing but KINGS This one is not as good as their debut album, but I love some tracks from it that will debut on my countdown soon. 2 hours ago, prézli said: Hell, Yeah says hi. Bubble Tea Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I guess Kendrick went off this year, not really my cup of tea but I heard "Humble" so many times at parties and what-not that I kinda appreciated it. (mainly I just have visions of white girls getting crunk to it - lawd)

Vxspertine Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) And now let's get into my top 10 albums of the year. I'm also going to be posting some albums I'm anticipating in 2018 and some of my favorite music videos of the year so that this won't be over too quickly. Let's get started! First we have an amazing EP mini album… 10. Rina Sawayama – RINA Quote You are who you areAll of the pain and pleasure is youAlthough life is hardDeep in the center unshaken stands true Spoiler Score: 8.5/10 (8.6/10) Trinity: Alterlife, Ordinary Superstar, 10-20-40 Worst track: Time Out This BOPS. I was surprised to see how high it reached on my list (and other people's lists too) despite only being an EP. It's stuck in my head on pretty much a daily basis, so I couldn't put it lower. I love this "mini album" so much, it's a great pop EP with a lot of throw-back styles, but at the same time crazy futuristic production (some of the beat drops and guitar solos are insane) and pretty dark lyrics about things like internet relationships, insecurities, drugs and obsessions. I'm a huge fan of Clarence Clarity and he and Rina work together really well on this EP. If it was longer and each part of the album would connect more smoothly it'd be one of the best albums of the year. I'm looking forward to see what she'll do next (and crossing my fingers that it will be with Clarence again). Still kind of pissed that Clarence didn’t drop a solo album this year though. Vxspertine Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) 2018 Anticipation: Clarence Clarity – Leave Earth This BITCH has been teasing us since LAST YEAR with excellent new singles every couple of months, an excellent EP that was made of 1 excellent song with excellent hidden tracks, and even a random re-release of his excellent 2015 album No Now (which is one of my favorite albums of the decade) with excellent Japanese bonus tracks. He released 9 random tracks in total since his last album, yet we don’t even know if most of them are on the album or not, and he even revealed the name and the cover of his album – BUT WE DON'T HAVE A RELEASE DATE YET. I HATE HIM. But please give us the album already FAT. Edited December 23, 2017 by Vxspertine
theblackestday Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I can't believe I waited for this trash?
Vxspertine Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) 9. The National - Sleep Well Beast Quote I’m always thinking about useless thingsI’m always checking outI’m always mothering myself to bitsI’m always checking out Spoiler Score: 8.5/10 Trinity: Guilty Party, Nobody Else Will Be There, Walk It Back Worst track: Day I Flop Like pretty much every indie fan out there, I've been a fan of The National for a pretty long time now, but I kind of stopped stanning after they dropped Trouble Will Find Me which was so painfully boring (except for Pink Rabbits which is excellent). The singles leading up to this album were all pretty interesting, even Day I Die was pretty cute when it came out. Then the album came out and I stanned for it pretty much instantly. This album does have some filler like Day I Die but it's a great improvement from that last album. I really love the lyrical themes of this album, they're not very different from what they had on their last albums, but they're still touching and I love how vulnerable and emotional he lets himself be on his music. I enjoyed this album a lot this year and I'm very glad they're making great music again. I'd say songs like Guilty Party are among the best songs of the year, and among the best National songs. Vxspertine Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) Favorite music videos of the year: 4. Grimes - Venus Fly One of my favorite songs on @artangels, and this music video looks amazing. She did THAT with those visuals. Spoiler 3. Richard Dawson - Ogre I really love this song, and the music video is very powerful and only makes the song better. Spoiler Edited December 19, 2017 by Vxspertine
Vxspertine Posted December 19, 2017 Author Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) 8. Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory Quote Move your body if you came here to party If not then pardon me How I'm supposed to have a good time When death and destruction's all I see? Spoiler Score: 8.5/10 (8.75/10) Trinity: Big Fish, 745, Yeah Right Worst track: Trash Come Down Vince is with no doubt one of the most talented musicians in the hip hop genre nowdays. The production on this album is TOP NOTCH. It's really infectious once you get into it and he did an amazing job on his flows. His lyrics are also great on this album, you can tell that he's going through some emotional struggles (to say the least), and the lyrical themes on this album are pretty interesting. It's not a simple "I'm depressed" album bs, but he's actually elaborating on his depression, and on songs like Party People that have a really hype beat, Vince is rapping in a really lowkey way, and talks about how he doesn't understand how he's supposed to party when there's so much bad **** going on in the world. And the features on this thing, WOW. Yeah Right is MONUMENTAL, and Vince is really one of the bravest rappers out there for putting this together. I mean, Kendrick, Flume, KUČKA AND ****ING SOPHIE?! **** ME UP One thing that bothered me about this album is that sometimes Vince's lowkey delivery kind of turned me off to some tracks. It's just a little too depressive for me at times. Also Rain Come Down is trash and a disappointing closer. Edited December 19, 2017 by Vxspertine
Lucas32 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Trouble will find me is easily among their Top 3 albums though at least you stan the best song of all time Pink Rabbits so I can overlook this Venus Fly was my favorite Grimes video of the era after Kill V. Maim.
