I only saw BATB, WW, and Atomic Blonde...

AB > BATB >>>> WW

IT was fantastic, the original series was really piss-poor imo so this very positively surprised me.

Enjoyed Atomic Blonde and Happy Death Day too though the killer in the latter was so predictable :skull: this Resident Evil part was better than the two ones before but I only really enjoyed the first one tbf and Wonder Woman relied a bit too heavily on how good Gal looked in it imo.

Happy Death day :ahh: that was a cute messy movie

I love Everything, Everything. It came on theater right when I had to go back to Vietnam which got me so mad cause my country REFUSED to show it. :skull:

I don't like IT tho. I feel like it's really really overrated somehow. :rip:

I'll try to watch The Circle and Flatliners this break as I've seen so many praises for them. :duca:

Director: Daniel Espinosa | Stars: Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds | Genre: Sci-Fi | IMDb Rate: 6,6

Review: When I chose to see “Life”, I didn’t know what I was going for. I gave a quick look to the plot and bought the tickets. My first thought was: “What was I thinking?” There were some parts of the movie that really grossed me out but overall, I truly enjoyed the story and especially the ending - this may be a little controversial as we all love happy endings. It opened a slot for a second part which I hope eventually happens.

I expected more from this movie :cm:

From the first two (?) scenes the killer appeared in, I was certain it would be that person.

But I agree that at the end it just felt... lame? There weren't that many signs pointing to this so I can see why someone would feel random/disappointed with this turn of events.

Thanks for supporting my movies selection. It's time to move on to my favorite choreographies of 2017!

I am probably the only one who gives choreography credit in this forum as I never see anyone praising the moves of the year. Being a Britney Spears and a Shakira fan, choreography has always caught my attention. An artist who can pull great choreographies on stage is more likely to create an impact in me than an artist who delivers vocally - don't judge me. Anyway, 2017 wasn't a memorable year in this department and it wasn't easy finding the ten best as there was hardly any great ones.

Please note, for me to validate a choreography, the routine had to be done by the artist himself, not by professional dancers. For the look chosen, thank you to GIPHY for being so user friendly.

While the choreography never goes really hard or proves how much of a good dancer Lady Gaga can be, the way it fits the mood of the song blows me away. It just feels right watching it. "The Cure" is a smooth song that never truly goes hard either so, for me, it maintains a type of cohesiveness in its sound. The choreography follows the lead.

image.png

whatabout.gif

We all know how much of a good dancer and performer P!nk is. My only wish for "What About Us" is that we had seen more of her moves instead of only a dance break in the middle of the song. Nonetheless, don't tell me you don't feel something inside of you when it comes in and she does it so flawlessly.

image.png

havana.gif

Love her or hate her but Camila Cabello truly is a versatile artist. She can sing in different tones and genres and, on top of that, the former Fifth Harmony can surely pull off any routine... During her "Havana" era, Camila took the song's promotion to a whole new level delivering different choreographies every time. The salsa routine in the video (and in most of the performances) truly became something worth watching.

image.png

flame.gif

It may look basic and repetitive if you take the gif in consideration but if you bother to see more "Flame" performances, you will know why the routine is so high... But even if didn't have real choreography, we all know what Tinashe is capable of. It would be criminal not including this natural dancer in a Best Of Choreographies. Keep in mind that "Flame" isn't even a dance track.

image.png

All she needed was different outfits for the "I Would Like" performances for it to become even more amazing. Zara usually performs in dresses which aren't very nice for dancing, yet she still nails it. I truly love how Zara Larsson never forgets the choreography element and always ends up slaying the competition. You can tell she is enjoying what she's doing and we're certainly enjoying the moves!

I didn't know Anne-Marie incorporated dance routines in her live performances!! While she isn't a natural dancer and while her routine is a bit weak among others, she still gets an A+ for the effort. She doesn't look uncomfortable, she seems to be enjoying the moment and not taking things too seriously. Besides "Ciao Adios" has a nice cute choreography!

image.png

cantgo.gif

Damn. I love this. While Robin - and company - don't exactly have a complex choreography, the treadmill surely isn't easy to manage and it requires a lot of attention. Given the fact that more than 80% of the performance is done on top of those, I would say that it is complex on its own way. The guys make it look extra easy though and never lose their composure!

image.pngdown.gif

The "Down" choreography was totally elevated with the Video Music Awards performance. The dance break was so on point and you can tell the girls had practiced a lot. Usually Ally and Lauren can't follow up Normani and Dinah's moves yet everyone delivered in it. Also, what I love about Fifth Harmony is how they incorporate a routine throughout the entire performance.

image.png

swalla.gif

Derulo is such a great dancer and in "Swalla" he even shares the talent of turning feminine choreographies into masculine ones. His moves are intense yet they look so simple when you see him doing them. To me, that's what distinguishes an ok dancer from a great dancer. I truly wish the video - and live performances - had more shots of the actual choreography.

image.png

dna.gif

It would be unfair to not include BTS when they master dancing. I generally don't really enjoy watching acts going extremely hard on dancing as they make it look like there's too much going on yet I don't think they go that hard in "DNA". I truly like the fact that they are so in sync despite of having such hard moves to do. I am glad I don't pay attention to K-Pop, otherwise my faves wouldn't have a chance here.

image.png

lookwaht.gif

The fact that she is actually nailing every single move in this choreography got me shook as I remember how bad she was during "Worth It" when she invited Fifth Harmony to join her. She looks fierce, completely into it and never loses her composure either - it's obvious she is acting when making those mean and evil faces. The moves are a bit basic yet, Taylor truly deserves an A+ for the effort.

one.png

HLT.gif

Giving the number one spot to other choreography other than "He Like That" wouldn't be fair. The effort, the slayage and the moves are just so impressive. As someone who truly values choreography having one of his favorite acts delivering a (almost) dance video is one of the best gifts a choreography fan can get, especially if they nail it which is the case. There's an obvious discrepancy between Normani/Dinah and Lauren/Ally yet the video was so well directed and the moves so well distributed that it feels like they are all amazing dancers.

At first I was going to drag you for only putting 5H's VMA performance at #4, but then I saw HLT at #1 :jonny: One of their best videos, and the live performance on Corden was probably their best executed performance in terms of choreo ever :jonny:

In fact, GIPHY couldn't handle such amazing and iconic moves, the gifs came out weird.

I agree with most of the choreography picks. I felt Fifth Harmony truly shined with their dancing this era performance wise. Zara Larson is a good performer too, and Taylor did do a good effort.

Honestly I have to disagree with Camilla, I found her SO stiff in that music video when she probably was one of the better dancers when in Fifth Harmony. It almost seemed if she went any quicker with her dancing, her bones would snap. :rip:

The Cure and P!nk were amazing too. :heart2:

The Cure was cute I guess but it's nothing for Gaga

I have the impression that it's not Camila doing the entire choreo in the video but oh well :-*

kii praise Taylor a biT sis!

Fifth Harmony :alexz: I assume the choreo for HLT you're praising is the video/James Corden performance version, and not the one they do in other performances. That one is indeed fire, though I find it WAY too sexualised. :skull: Down was great too, especially the bridge portion (but they kinda cut the floor choreo in later performances :'( ). Personally my favourite choreo this era from them is the Angel choreo. :worship2:
