I only watched ALW today and I was slayed. For some reason, I didn't pay very much attention to it.

Love So Soft, Touch, and Wolves are really good videos. :clap3:

I don't like WLD's MV at all tho. :dies:

Wolves' video is kinda messy. :cm:

Occidentali's Karma is a masterpiece and one of my faves from Eurovision, the winner was tragic and so awful tho

Honestly I have to disagree with Camilla, I found her SO stiff in that music video when she probably was one of the better dancers when in Fifth Harmony. It almost seemed if she went any quicker with her dancing, her bones would snap. :rip:

Aww, poor Camila! Well, she improved so much! Give her time!

I have the impression that it's not Camila doing the entire choreo in the video but oh well :-*

That one is indeed fire, though I find it WAY too sexualised. :skull: Down was great too, especially the bridge portion (but they kinda cut the floor choreo in later performances :'( ). Personally my favourite choreo this era from them is the Angel choreo. :worship2:

As for Camila, she has done it live so I believe it's her! As for 5H, I feel like they empower women to feel sexy and "He Like That" serves the purpose!

I don't think the LWYMMD choreo is really good.. OR it doesn't really fit Taylor, and it shows

Taylor has never been a great dancer hence why she is only getting an "A+ for effort", ahaha

Don't say this to a Portuguese person! Even though I am not a fan of Salvador's attitude, "Amar Pelos Dois" is a touching song!

Let's wrap up the videos category and move on to my 10 favorite videos of 2017.

Also, it's time to be introduced to the my favorite two best non-english/spanish songs of the year.

The first time I watched the video for "Havana", I was a bit let down as I expected something sexier yet with time I started appreciating the whole movie along with the video's concept. Camila is indeed hilarious - she has always been - and she can bring comedy, sensuality and empowerment come together. That's something! While those elements come together in the video along with a nice traditional dance break, I still wanted a bit more.

The video for "Tell Me You Love Me" is anything but unique or original. It contains a storyline done billions of times by so many different artists. Noentheless, there's something so unique about Demi Lovato's best video so far: space for open interpretation. The ending of the video is not clear and that leaves one wondering what exactly happened between them: did he cheat on her? did she cheat on him? was he unable to continue the relationship due to lack of trust? was he simply not ready? We will never know. What I truly love the most about this video as well is that - without providing much details - it relates to me on a very personal level. I got the chills when I watched it.

perfectplaces.png

Director: Grant Singer | Views: 21,000,000

When I first saw "Perfect Places" I was unsure on what to think: the scenarios were beautiful, the places she was in were breathtaking but what was the purpose of all that? Only when I started relating the lyrics to the video things started making sense and I automatically fell in love with the concept and the video overall. There are so many videos out there that are beautiful to the eye but lack concept. Lorde's not like that. Besides containing (indeed) perfect places, it has such an accurate meaning behind the video.

symphony.png

Director: Grace Chatto & Jack Patterson | Views: 549,000,000

I feel like so much can be said about this video but one sentence will describe it: I can't watch the video for "Symphony" without crying. Is it enough? Well, I usually truly dislike music videos where the main acts aren't featured but the actors give so much to the story. It is so unusual, beautiful and touching. Just to imagine the concept, my eyes get heavy with tears.

They may have not delivered an amazing video for "Down" but they made it up with "He Like That". 'Though there isn't a storyline, the dance concept blows me away. Many will obviously criticize the video for being way too sexual but I believe Fifth Harmony is more than a brand for little girls, they are capable of empowering women to be sexy, fierce and fearless and "He Like That" uses more than sensuality. They OWN the men and they're so not scared of showing it. As an Harmonizer, I couldn't have asked for anything else.

Let's press pause in the videos and focus a little in music... That is not sung in English or in Spanish. During this second set, I will be presenting you my two favorite non-english/spanish songs of 2017. Be inspired!

Spoiler

02. Salvador Sobral - "Amar Pelos Dois" (sung in Portuguese)

amar.png

Who knew I would become such a fan of this song. For those who don't know, "Amar Pelos Dois" gave Portugal its first ever victory in the Eurovision Song Contest. During our national final, it wasn't even my top 3 and it ended up becoming so special to me. Besides the obvious national proud I wear when I use (and talk about) this beautiful song, it truly touches me. Sonically it contains so much elegance and class, lyrically it is deep, touching and sad. As for Salvador's voice... Well, it is unique, gentle and humble. It is indeed magic and it will always have a special place in my heart.

01. Ana Malhoa - "Ampulheta" (sung in Portuguese)

ampulheta.png

The Portuguese Queen of Pop waited until December to release one of my favorite songs of the year. I was truly "shook" when I first heard the song. She generally goes for more latin sounds so when "Ampulheta" was released and she had gone full Electro Pop, I couldn't believe my ears. I have repeated this song so many times and it still sounds fresh and it still goes so hard. Portuguese music truly won with Ana Malhoa's "Ampulheta".

It wasn't obvious love at first sight with the video for "Bad Liar" but the unexpected ending truly caught my attention and I never ever forgot about it, despite not loving the song as much as I love Selena's material. It's truly fascinating how confident and comfortable Selena Gomez is with herself as not everyone would do what she did with this video. I love all the characters she plays and I love how truly different she makes them look and act in the video. She captured every character's essence and that's just awesome!

Katy and her spectacular music videos. I said this last year and I will repeat: after Britney Spears, no one releases better music videos other than Katy Perry. She has a vision and she makes sure to have a decent sized budget for her videos that always come off extravagant and out of the box. "Chained To The Rhythm" truly got my attention with this alternative world she created in it and due to all the small references that are made throughout the video. I've seen it countless times as VH1 still airs it still is good and eye candy!

bonapeti.png

Director: Dent De Cuir | Views: 415,000,000

New video, same artist. Seriously, "Bon Appetit" is such an interesting mix that I simply can't get tired of. Not only she is rocking that long blonde wig but she looks extremely hot and beautiful. On top of that, she acts clumsy, funny and dangerous. The video is just spectacular and unique. It's not out of nowhere that despite bombing on the charts, "Bon Appetit" has gathered more than 400 million views as for today.

newrules.png

Director: Henry Scholfield | Views: 812,000,000

A video list without "New Rules" wouldn't be a video list. The concept, the art, the looks... Everything is so damn amazing. I truly love how Dua made sure to include so many different type of girls in this video to make it appealing to everyone and pass the message that everyone goes through this process of heartbreak. On top of that the way the video goes from a sad and heartbroken Dua to a wise Dua Lipa that is now aware on how to behave when he calls in "'cause he's drunk and alone" is so cool and besides the universal message, proves that friends are here whenever you need them. "New Rules" was such a highlight, wow.

lookwhat.png

Director: Joseph Kahn | Views: 790,000,000

Just like "New Rules", it wouldn't be a video list without Taylor's "Look What You Made Me Do". The amount of input, detail and perfectionism included in the video goes beyond me. We all know Taylor is ambitious. Being ambitious is not always good, especially when you fail to cover everything you worked for but when you're successful, not only it makes you proud but others have nothing but to compliment your work. Truth is, I am not a huge Swift fan (swish swish bish!) but I can't resist to such an iconic, well produced and outrageous music video. She completely delivered what every popstar should deliver. They may be Pop enemies but Katy and Taylor truly know what a popstar should bring to the table when it comes to music videos.

I found this new music from them quite, I don't know this. I loved WFH, That's My Girl, Write On Me and etc.

But this era, they just aren't clicking with me, they are over sexualised a bit. And songs are not the tea.

Tho video for He Like That is a slay, but it's not them for some reason.

I don't know but she is the only talked about person in eurovision forums, world from that year. She was everything and she is still coming to all eurovision parties and being invited. I think she will somehow be involved with eurovision in Portugal. we hope so.

Quero Ser Tua was so "eurovision" a trash bop.
